Hey Dolls,
Whatcha up to this week? Any big plans? Would love to hear from you in a comment below.
I am linking-up for the first time with Becky at Choose Happy for her Currently series. I fell in serious like with Becky and her blog when I read a little bit about her. She says “my blog (is) where I love to share my favorite DIY projects, travel, crafting, holidays and my family! I love to encourage others to be happy and by doing that, it reminds me to be happy myself!”
She sounds like such a positive, loving person, huh? So sincere.
And her warm smile just seals the deal…who wouldn’t want to get to know Becky?
For Currently, bloggers are invited to write about what they are currently doing, eating, loving, celebrating, etc.
I need to keep my wordiness in check and just make this a simple, fun little post.
And with that, we’re off, like a herd of turtles.
I am currently:
Gearing up for spring cleaning. Taking my vitamins. Thinking a lot about it. Not quite ready to take the plunge(r). Pinning lots of great things on organization and how to make spring cleaning fun and easy. Now that I see this picture I think maybe I should probably start by cleaning and organizing my cleaning supplies.
Here they are.
And yes, I do realize that if I don’t get a move on, that next Monday will be the first day of summer and I will have to skip spring cleaning all together and go straight into summer cleaning. Hey, that’s a thought.
Getting ready to start scrapbooking again. I am kind of stuck in 2012. Christmas to be exact. So I absolutely need to blow the dust off of my scrapbooking supplies which means I can’t scrapbook til I spring/summer clean. I think I probably have all of the scrapbooking supplies I need (and cleaning supplies, too, for that matter) but I did start a new wish list at The Scrappy Gourmet last night for a few things that are ON SALE.
And then my sister, Valerie, sends me this email, just when I am pretty positive I don’t need another thing (with the exception of those few aforementioned sale items).
Gotta get it. What kind of a Mimi would I be if I didn’t?
Before we move on to what else I am currently doing, I do realize that the larger picture frame in the first scrapbook picture is sort of empty. Well, it has scrapbook paper in it. No picture. I am currently working on remedying that. Check back next Monday to see what magic I work on that little frame. I started that project about three years ago. But will get it wound up this week.
Preparing to brainstorm ideas for a presentation. My sister and I hope to present about using fiction and nonfiction books as Mentor Texts at the Texas Library Association’s Annual Conference in Houston, April 2016. Valerie and I love so many of the great books at Capstone Publishing and discovered their new Cantata series at TLA in April. You might remember that was when Valerie broke her nose. You can read more here. Anyway, we are going to feature our favorite Capstone books (and other books as well) in our training, along with ideas for using the books in an elementary library or classroom.
Here’s where I am on that. I have posed in my super hero costume for the cover of the spring Capstone catalog. And I printed out Valerie’s notes on suggested books for our presentation. And I have located my book about Mentor Texts. But the conference is nine months away. Plentyatime.
Thinking on how to open an Etsy store. In April, or was it March?, I subbed in the library at Jefferson High School, which was where I first started with the El Paso ISD, 27 years ago. One of the librarians there, Priscilla, is a close friend of Lauren’s. She and Mary Ann, the other Jeff librarian (for whom I was subbing) do the neatest things in their library. So proud of them both. But while I was moaning about how I miss my job, Priscilla suggested I open an Etsy store to sell some of my favorite library lesson plans. And by George, I am going to do that. As soon as Purrsnickitty wakes from napping on my lesson plan notebooks.
Oh, look…she’s up.
So, I guess I need to quit what I am currently doing, which is this:
And do something. Before PC catches me goofing off.
Please stop by Becky’s blog to see what she is currently doing. She has me beat hands down! Or feet up, in my case. Please promise to come back and check out my progress on all of the things I am currently thinking about.
Hugs and kisses,
Sharon
Superwoman you are dear friend! Rest and relax in between all those projects. They can wait til a rainy day! I’ll send some your way since EP doesn’t get as much as we do, 🙂 XO

Please, please send us some rain. We have all of the puffy clouds rolling in but no rain!!

I am currently riding in our car driving back from Missouri. We are past Van Horn, TX and headed home to El Paso.

Welcome home!! Are you going to school this week? I saw a picture somewhere of you with Hudson at Rusk. Was it just for a day? Would love to stop by if you are going to be over there.
Morgan
Thanks! We had a great trip up there but we are glad to be home. I did go to Rusk only 1 day to finish up reports and things. All done! Don’t have to go back for awhile now! Yay! Maybe we could meet up for lunch next week?
Jennie
So fun! I am glad you caught up with Becky and her Currently post. I enjoyed reading it all and wish you best of luck with your hopefully to come Etsy endeavors!

I love the Currently idea that Becky has. On the day that I wrote my blog post, I was currently doing nothing…Needed to be doing a whole bunch of stuff, but wasn’t. I have now begun the summer cleaning. One step in the right direction. Thank you for stopping by.
Ginny
I need to get back to scrapbooking too, I haven’t done any since Christmas. How cool about the Etsy shop too, great idea!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
If you get back to scrapbooking and I get back to scrapbooking…maybe we could do some kind of blog together about ….. SCRAPBOOKING!! I am so behind but am going to try very hard to get caught up this summer. May mean some pretty haphazard scrapbook pages, though. Thanks for coming by, Ginny.

You are the SWEET one! Thank you so much for stopping by. Would love to do a scrapbook post with you. Maybe it would inspire both of us to get busy scrapping?? Another new friend, Jenny at lovemyrandomness.blogspot.com is a scrapper, too. We could all post something about scrapbooking at the same time. She allows herself to scrap out of order which I am going to start doing. Maybe it will motivate me to at least do my favorite pictures. Please let me know if that sounds like something you would like to do. And please bring your sweet self back again!
Jenny
I love scrapbooking but I don’t get as much done at home as I would like. My friends and I try to get together at least one night a month to scrap and craft and it really is a lifesaver. The best thing I did was give myself the freedom to scrap out of order so that when I got stuck on a page I didn’t just stare at it and I could scrap the pictures that jumped at me when I flipped through. Amazingly I think I do get more done this way. 🙂

Hi, Jenny! So glad you stopped by. Maybe we can inspire one another to get scrapping. I see a new scrapbook page on your blog for today! I need to allow myself to start scrapping out of order. Thanks for that inspiration. I get so bogged down on getting my photos just right and I just need to get on with it. Love that you have friends to scrap with. I really don’t know anyone in El Paso who scraps. Let me know if you would like to do a post together sometime about scrapbooking. I am following you on Bloglovin’ as I type.
Priscilla
Ahhhh! I didn’t know I was featured in your blog, lol. I loved having you there those few days and you helped so much. You are a true library guru. Can’t wait to see your Etsy shop.

Would love to have you (and Mary Ann?) write a book review for me about a summer read. If this sounds like fun, give me a holler. It doesn’t have to be a big long review but just enough to entice some readers. Let me know.
