Ladybugs, linking up with Erika and Andrea, today for my Friday Favorites, 09.2020 post. Even though this is a weekly post for many of my blogger buddies, I just try to share my faves once a month, on the last Friday. But last month I missed this post and my Thankful Thursday. Glad to be getting back on track.

Here are some things that have caught my eye and made me smile lately.
HelloFresh – At Target
Mention of HelloFresh meal kits has been sprinkled about on several of my latest Sentence a Day and Thankful Thursday posts. Early this summer, my daughter Lauren shared a HelloFresh meal kit with yes from one of her orders. It was love at first bite. We made Gouda vibes burgers. Thankfully, Lauren shared some more kits with us including a balsamic fig chicken, tempura shrimp and a Parmesan chicken. Each meal has been delicious, and has come with absolutely every single thing we needed to prepare the dish except the wine we drink when we are cooking. Never used HelloFresh before? Then watch this video to get a better idea about these everything-you-need-to-prepare-a-designer-meal-in-a-paper-bag (delivered to your door).
The other day, Lauren and I were in Target and guess what?? They are selling HelloFresh meals. Like this Parmesan-crusted chicken with lemony gemelli. Anyone know what gemelli is? Guess I need to Google it. But whatever it is, it will be delish the way HelloFresh prepares it!! Or meatloaf balsamico with mashed honey sweet potatoes and green beans amandine. Check them out at your neighborhood Target or online.
Mask Bling
I don’t know how things look in your community but masks seem to be here to stay in El Paso. Have struggled to find a mask I can wear for very long at a time. Came across these mask-related products that can make our mask-wearing days more comfortable. Consider this your one stop shopping source for mask supplies.
Check out these beaded lanyards which seem like the perfect way to keep your mask handy without having to wear it constantly.
Then there’s that age old question of what to do with your mask when you aren’t wearing it. Which for some of you may mean you’re either asleep or in the shower so it’s not a problem. But there are times when I need my mask, then I don’t, then I do. Then I don’t. But then I do. Have a look at these cute mask storage bags. Would also come in hand for storing an extra mask in your bag. You know, for those days when you have temporary memory loss and wearing a mask and Covid seem like just a bad dream?
Last but not least, these mask extender hooks. I don’t know about you but I have worn quite the ugly callous behind my ear where the mask straps are rubbing. Think carbuncle. Okay, not really. Just wanted to use that word. No callous or carbuncle yet. But only because my sister Valerie gave me one of these mask extender hooks. They work a lot like the lanyard by keeping the mask strap off from behind your ears. And they allow you to let the mask hang at your neck (thus covering your scar from you cervical spine surgery) when you don’t have it over your mouth and nose.
These make great back-to-school gifts for teachers and students. And, at the rate we are going, will be ideal stocking stuffers, too. You’re welcome!!
40 Days Through the Bible
I have always been impressed by people who say they’ve read the entire Bible front to back. And for a hot minute one day several years ago, I thought I would try to do that, too. But I don’t have the comprehension skills and attention span or the discipline to do that. I could flip through the pages or fast forward through an audio reading but wouldn’t take much away from that. Enter Proverbs31 Ministries with their very manageable The Answers to Your Deepest Longings: 40 Days Through the Bible online course.

Purchased the PDF version of the workbook and love the thoughtful discussion questions that help me process my reading. Great interaction and extended learning opportunities provided through the closed Facebook group, too. So enjoying this!!
Tricia Robinson Art
I have found some of my favorite things through Facebook advertising. You know those little ads on the sidebar?
That’s where I first learned about Get Your Pretty On. And now, the God Made Girls art workshop.

Artist Tricia Robinson hosts this $10 online mini painting class and encourages women to live in full color. If you have ever wanted to dabble in painting but been too scared to do so…this is the perfect way to get your tootsies wet.
Un Poco Loco Graphic Tee
Graphic tees are big again this season on the Get Your Pretty On fall capsule wardrobe. I shared a couple of my favorite Covid-themed graphic tees in my Friday Favorites post for June. You can revisit them here. There are so many cute ones to choose from that I have trouble deciding which ones to order. Until I saw this one!!
[source]
If we have been friends for any length of time, you know how I love love love the holiday Dia de los Muertos – think the children’s movie “Coco.” When I saw this Coco-flavored graphic tee, I could click on buy it now fast enough.
And here it is, styled for our first movie date night since Covid.
The shirt reads, “Quarantine made me un poco loco” (a little crazy)…which, we all know is not true in my case. I was long crazy before quarantine.
Your Turn
So those a few of my Friday Favorites 09.2020. What would be on the top of your list? Are you wearing graphic tees? Do you have a Bible study you’ve just loved doing? Please share in a comment below.
Thanks so much for joining me today. These Friday Favorite posts are a lot of fun to write. Hope this made a fun read for you.
Enjoy a peaceful weekend.
Hugs and kisses,
Joanne
I’ve been wanting to try Hello Fresh! It’s on my list for this fall after I’m back to cooking nightly. I never have problems with cooking and meal prep but I like the idea of getting to try NEW recipes without all the added fuss of stocking up. I’ll have to see if our Target has any; I haven’t been inside our Target in ages! My husband was joking that they’re going to get rid of “my mug” since they must think I work there by now and haven’t been showing up. That t-shirt is so cute!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
That is one of the best things about HelloFresh, the recipes. So you can replicate them yourself. Which we have done with pretty fare/fair success!!
LOL – so funny about Target. I had missed it terribly but once things opened up a bit, my daughter and I donned our masks and made a few Target runs.
Deb
If those Hello Fresh meals taste as good as they sound, they are definitely worth trying! You had me at ‘parmesan chicken’ 🙂
What a fun t shirt, I think I prefer it in the darker colour way that you chose, the font shows up more with a dark background. I think the wording is perfect for all of us at the moment!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am truly impressed with HelloFresh. I can cook, follow a recipe, adapt them to our tastes but I don’t do anything too fancy or unusual. Home cooking. The HelloFresh meals are different. Spices and seasonings that are flavorful. New to me carbs like couscous which I had not made myself until now. We are enjoying them. Except I slipped up and bought vegetarian this time. Not sure what PC will think about meatless dinner.
Thank you, I love my poco loco tee shirt. I am afraid I am more than poco loco, though!!
Joanne Long
I tried Hello Fresh a couple of years ago when I was working on a temporary teaching contract. My husband doesn’t shop or cook so it was convenient. There were lots of choices and our meals were more interesting. I like your poco loco t-shirt. I’ve been collecting masks (cloth) and I wear them around my neck if I go out. Easy to slip on and off. I worked 4 days in a high school library and wore disposable masks all day. The library was not open to students so the risk was not great. I’m not sure about classrooms this year. So far, so good.
I went on a semi-silent retreat a few years ago and felt that I should read the Bible for the whole time. I’m doing a Zoom Bible study right now. It’s very interesting. Take care!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Zoom Bible study!! Do you know that participants? I haven’t tried to substitute teach since Covid. But miss that income.
My hubs shops with me but not alone. And doesn’t cook so HelloFresh has been a blessing.

Hello Fresh at Target would be any busy person dream!!! I have used their service and it was delicious but the $$$ was a bit high to use it consistently but great for a week that’s busy. Are you enjoying the GYPO fall challenge? I am looking forward to seeing how you style some outfits.

See if you can find HelloFresh in Target. I love that it is available there without a ‘subscription’. Thank you!
Kellyann Rohr
that graphic tee is so cute and true for the majority of us!! Guess we gotta keep a sense of humor about the whole thing or we will lose it!
xo,
Kellyann
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!! I loved the Coco spirit of that graphic tee.

Love the mask bling. I haven’t seen these ‘mask accessory options’ yet – but I will keep a lookout for them.
And Hello Fresh in your grocery stores. You are very lucky. Sadly, we no longer have Target in Canada. 🙁
Leslie Roberts Clingan
OH, MY…no Target in Canada? Wow!! Do you have Kmart? I know it went out of business here but is very popular in Australia.
Nancy
Ha ha,were you? But it is a fun tee. I tried to order earrings from Amazon but it takes ages. Such a shame. Have a good Sunday.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I had not thought or realized that perhaps you don’t have Amazon Prime in Europe. With Prime our orders arrive in days. I live in a fairly remote part of west Texas and it takes longer here but my sister and daughter can get things the same day they order!!

Hi Leslie!
I read about your favorites and thanks for sharing that Target has Hello Fresh! We use Blue Apron and have been getting that and making meals with my mom. She has been living with us since May, as she was alone in Pittsburgh and struggling during Covid times. We can relate to the Tee! So cute with the Fall cardi! I think we could use that too, its just made us crazier! I put my mask in a plastic bag, but geez, things you never thought would be out there are! Have a great week!

Isn’t it crazy all the products that have come along because of Covid?? And the demand for things we used to be able to buy easily. I still struggle to find Clorox wipes.
Try HelloFresh from Target. It will give you some idea about the meals. We have enjoyed every single one we have eaten!!
Erica/Erika
Hi Leslie, I have been away camping and I am enjoying catching up on reading. I have seen advertisements about HelloFresh. The meals sound healthy and tasty. I like your phrase “love at first bite.” So far I have been storing my mask(s) in a small zip lock. Your sister’s gift sounds like a good idea. You always look great in your outfits, Leslie. I especially like your genuine smile.🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Erica. How nice to have been away on a camping adventure. I am so ready to escape to somewhere else!!
I have kept my masks in zip lock bags, too, but they sometimes get pierced by the odd objects floating around in the bottom
of my purse. The chopsticks I had in there for months, for example!!
Lovely
Graphic tees are so versatile! The mask lanyards are cute.

Aren’t graphic tees the best? Like wearing a mini-billboard for something you believe in!!

Hi Leslie – I love graphic tee shirts too – my latest one reads “Cat Mother Coffee Lover” and it makes me smile every time I wear it.
We’re not wearing masks at all in Western Australia because there’s no community cases of covid at all and haven’t been for several months. What I did see online that I thought were a great idea are the silicone brackets to hold the mask off your face a bit – for easier breathing (https://www.amazon.com/Comfortable-Silicone-Breathing-Reusable-Translucent/dp/B089WDZ8CM) I wore a mask for many years when I was a dental hygienist and they don’t bother me particularly – but my husband hates them, so I’m hoping they don’t ever become necessities down here.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you for the link to the silcone brackets for the masks. Today I had to wear one while having an ultrasound and it was difficult. The ultrasound technician was scanning my thyroid and my mask was smothering me!!
Love the Cat Mother Coffee Lover expression. I am both, too!!
Bri
I havne’t ever tried HelloFresh, but it sounds amazing!! I love that t-shirt and that you and your hubby got out for a MOVIE! WOOHOO!!!! What did you guys see? You two are adorable, btw!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
We have seen two movies…look at us! Words on the Bathroom Wall and The Secrets We Keep. Both good.
Jennifer Smith
Your t-shirt is so cute – and you look just as cute headed out for your date night:) I always see so many t-shirts I love…but can never seem to pull them off. I feel silly when I wear them and they eventually just get donated. Wasteful, I know. I will have to check out the Hello Fresh….wondering if they have any vegetarian options??
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!! My friend, you just haven’t found the right tee!! Look on Etsy. There are so many cute ones. Although I prefer the fit of some over some of the others. I don’t like unisex tees too much because I am in between a small and a medium.
Yes, HelloFresh has vegetarian!! If you are interested let me send you a code for a free box!!
Dara
One of my sons wants the mask strap product. Thanks for sharing!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
You are welcome!!

I feel like I need some of those accessories for masks because there are definitely times where I’m taking my mask on and off, depending on where I am and what I’m doing! It would be nice to have a handier way to keep masks…well…on hand. LOL

I need to put in an order for the mask lanyards. Hope you find some that come in handy and work for you.
