Fashionistas and clothes-wearing friends, thank you for visiting for this Ageless Style 03.2022: Styling Sweatshirts Without the Sweat. It’s the third Thursday which means the Ageless Style gang is back together again. This month to style a sweatshirt. Without the sweat. Outside the gym. I have a number of favorite sweat(free)shirts that I love to wear. They are a comfy, fun transition piece for weather during those in-between seasons. Between fall and winter, winter and spring.
But before we get to that, hope you will check out last month’s it’s a wrap look here, if you missed that post. And the month before, my French terry veri peri sweatshirt that could be the star of this post, too, had I not already shared it with you in January.
The Ageless Style linkup is hosted by a stylish group of fashion bloggers and me. Not sure how I fit in exactly. Maybe comic relief??
Just a reminder: Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After occasionally uses affiliate links which are usually italicized. If you click or make a purchase from an italicized link provided I may receive a very small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support.
AGELESS STYLE 03.2022
One of my first sweat(less) shirts was this one I had designed to promote my blog by Lindsay at Simply September Shop on Etsy. That was 3 years ago before I went ‘silver.’
Since then I have really embraced this trend.
A simple gray sweatshirt with blush denim. And a Loft outlet floral sweatshirt with the same blush jeans.
I Heart Sweatshirts
My BFF Sharon sent me several really cute sweatshirts just as we went into Covid. This tie-dye sweatshirt has been a go-to since Sharon gave it to me. Wearing it here during a visit to Kentucky to care for Mom while she was hospitalized and to move her from one apartment to another.
I think you can see that I heart sweatshirts. Even the ones I’ve sweated in!!
For today’s post I want to share a dressed up take on the sweatshirt. A look I wore for date night…or more accurately, date day with PC. I purchased this glitzy rose gold glitter heart sweatshirt from Wildly Free Tee Shop on Etsy.
These photos were taken right after my dreadful haircut that I am still trying to recover from. Looks a little like it was cut with an electric knife. But we are here to talk about the sweatshirt, not the hair. Right??
Paired my sweatshirt with a J. Crew Factory pleated pale pink skirt and nude peep toe pumps. And that’s a lot of Ps. Added a rose gold and pink heart pendant Paul gave me for Christmas a few years ago. More Ps.
I’ve had the skirt since spring of 2020, but with Covid, I had nowhere to wear it. Really liked the way this look came together.
Taking It Out on the Town
Wore this outfit to church and then to lunch at Melting Pot fondue restaurant. PC was kind enough to indulge me in a few pictures.
In the sunlight my hair doesn’t look quite so butchered. Or silver.
Wish I had thought to change out my purse. I never ever remember to do that. Have the cutest rose gold clutch that I never think to use. Not that I have a lot of occasion to use a rose gold clutch in the first place. But it sure would have been cute with this outfit.
Felt like a fancy lady in this sweatshirt and skirt combo. I like the contrast between the oversized, informal sweatshirt and the pleated, dressier skirt.
Forgot to mention the Plunder cuff I am wearing. The Frankie bracelet. Multi-colored beads & faux leopard with antique gold magnetic closure. And for earrings just wore some simple rose gold studs.
One for the Road
My most recent sweatshirt purchase is this Lauren Conrad super soft velour floral number. It is available in 3 colors/prints and is on sale right now for less than $15.00. I purchased the Beatrice Blooms print but wondering if I might need the Mauve Wild Berry Sprig, too!! Washes beautifully and doesn’t have to be IRONED!!
I have what my grandmother would call an ‘ample bosom’ and am wearing a medium. The fabric of this sweatshirt is like…

Those are just some of my sweatshirts. Have a favorite summer sweatshirt…summer sweatshirt?? Yes, summer sweatshirt that I bought at Old Navy for our trip to South Padre beach. Perfect piece to throw on with jeans, shorts or even over my bathing suit. Have you embraced the sweatshirt trend yet?
Your Turn
I don’t know about you but I am anxious to see how my Ageless Style friends have styled this month’s prompt. Let’s go check out their sweatshirts, want to?? Follow me!!

And we’d love to have you join us by linking up one of your recent style posts.
I am off to Mom’s tomorrow for a week. Her 95th birthday is on Monday. My sister Valerie and I will be with Mom while my brother Kevin is out of town for work. Guess what I am packing? Sweatshirts. The weather is supposed to be chilly and rainy!! My sweatshirts will serve me well.
Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend. Thank you for stopping by to spend a bit of your day with me.
Hugs and kisses,
Kellyann Rohr
Sweatshirts today have certainly come a long way! I think of my mom who has never owned one and probably never will because she immediately thinks of working out! But really they are so stylish, this was a great prompt and I love how you showcased yours – great deal on that one from Kohl’s!
xo,

I love sweatshirts and wear them year round. Though I fully admit I have never intentionally worn one with a skirt but this is such a cute look!

Thank you!! Gotta try pairing a sweatshirt with a skirt. It was comfy and fun.
Cathy
I love all your sweatshirts and I’d love to wear them too, but unfortunately, I get way too hot. I do wear hoodies as jackets, but when I go inside anywhere they have to come off. Anyway, I enjoyed your post and I hope you have a great time with your mom this weekend.

Leslie, I love your sweat(less) shirt collection! Your blog one is so cool! And your glittery heart one is adorable. Super fun way to style it, too. I am laughing so hard at your grandmother’s phrasing of “ample bosom” because my grandmother used that exact same thing! So funny.

You have amazing sweatshirt game!!! Seriously, so much cuter than my options, lol. I love the one that you purchased for the post, especially paired with that lovely pleated skirt. Adorable. I want to recreate the whole outfit, although I would have to get some cuter sweatshirts. Anyway, I also like the other ones you featured!

I love the way you put that…sweatshirt game!! Thank you for the sweet words.
Dara
I usually just wear comfy sweatshirts but I like the idea of fashion ones!
Jennifer
My goodness, I’ve never seen sweatshirts look so pretty. I always think of them as strictly “throw on to be comfy” clothes…but you have made me rethink that! A floral one even:)

Sweatless Sweatshirts….I Love this!
Indeed sweatshirts have come such a long way. And many ways have replaced sweaters. I love the fact that they are stylish yet easily washable. More style and less worry!
You do have a fabulous collection!

I especially love that outfit with the pink skirt, so pretty! I have a few sweatshirts but they aren’t as pretty as yours.
Hope your week with your mum goes well – take care x

You look lovely in all those outfits and I think the date night one is great. Sorry you are struggling with your haircut although it looks good in the pictures!
Jodie Filogomo
Leslie!! I was going to say you aren’t comic relief, but you did make me giggle just by saying that.
And I love all of your sweatshirts. But that heart one with the skirt is exactly my style. Absolutely fabulous my friend,

Oh my goodness girl do you have the sweatshirts! And so many cool ones too! You were all prepared for this challenge. I only owned one sweatshirt, and it wasn’t one I wanted to feature on my blog, so I had to go out and buy one. I love all the different ways you styled your sweatshirts.
Jill
Hearts are my favorite shape and your sweatshirt is adorable! Love your styling with the pleated skirt! Such a pretty look!

Leslie,
You have so many pretty sweatshirts that don’t look like the traditional sweatshirt.
I finally found a sweatshirt like the ones you have and styled it with a skirt.
I usually wear sweatshirts with jeans and athleticwear.
Not any more!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, friend. I think that is what I like about my sweatshirts. They can camouflage themselves to be something other than what they are. I had fun with this prompt and look forward to putting together more skirt-sweatshirt looks in the future.
Gail
Such a pretty sweatshirt and love the little touches, the cuff and the necklace! It’s great to see a sweatshirt made glam for a date night.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!! I really like sweatshirts!! To sweat in and to dress up in.

Hi Leslie!
Oh I loved that Mike Myers skit- Like buttah! Thats how I want all my clothes to feel! You have a great collection and I really love the one with your blog name on it. They really are all lovely, I love the colors and prints, especially the Loft wit the pink pants. You created a fashionable modern look with the skirt and pumps, and your sparkly heart sweatshirt.
