Fashionistas and clothes-wearing friends, thank you for visiting for this Ageless Style 02.2022: It’s a Wrap linkup. We are back again in February to share a favorite wrap. But before we get to that, hope you will check out my very peri look from last month. here, if you missed that post. The Ageless Style gals and I were styling the Pantone color of the year – very peri(winkle). I love my French terry very peri sweatshirt. And it is on sale!! If you are looking for a comfortable piece to sample this beautiful blue color for yourself, check out this great sweatshirt (similar, similar).
The Ageless Style linkup is hosted by my friend Carrie from A Simple Lovely Life and 9 of her blogging buddies. Always honored to be joining this stylish group of fashion bloggers. And we have a new member joining us this month. Hope you will help me welcome Rosemary from Distinctly Southern Style to the gang. I tell ya, these gals are all so classy and put-together, I am not sure how I fit in!!
Ageless Style 02.2022
I think we’d all agree that wraps come in all shapes and styles (looking at you, Saran wrap). Coats, jackets, kimonos, ponchos, cardigans. I love them all. The latest trend – the shacket – has been a big hit with many of my blogging buddies and I have 3 in my closet. They are the perfect wrap for most of our moderate El Paso winter days. But for today’s post I chose a hybrid piece I received in a Stitch Fix box several years ago. This Leo and Nicole wrap is a combination cardigan and kimono. Featuring the timeless Buffalo plaid print that is always in style. Find similar pieces here and here.
Just a reminder: Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After occasionally uses affiliate links which are usually italicized. If you click or make a purchase from an italicized link provided I may receive a very small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support.
I paired my wrap with an H&M black turtleneck sweater (similar, similar) and Old Navy black denim. Love the way my L’Artiste booies (similar, similar) and layered silver necklace (similar, similar) from Versona complete this look.
If we have been friends for any length of time, you know I am always trying to tackle a huge mountain of ironing. Tuesday is ironing day but I never seem to get it all done. Anyway, this outfit, and especially this wrap, are near and dear to my heart because they don’t have to be ironed. Machine wash and dry and it’s ready to wear. Clearly I need more clothes like this in my closet!!
Wrapped Up For Winter Weather
Took my wrap out into what remained of our one winter snowfall. Felt toasty warm.
Wore this outfit to sub for Lucia’s class. Then ran by to see Lauren and get some loves from my sweet pup, Pumpkin. Post coming very soon about how Pumpkin came to join our family. A Part 2 to this Where Bloggers Live post from last week. This wrap has to be my favorite Stitch Fix piece ever.
Taking It Up a Notch
In the photo below, I switched out my black denim for Loft Outlet black cords to make the outfit a little dressier. And tried a different necklace. If you participated in any of the Get Your Pretty On style challenges a couple of years ago, you might recognize this ‘ladder’ necklace. Alison at GYPO put it on the shopping list and I think every single challenger bought one each in gold and silver. We were all styling it for a few seasons.
This next photo is a little blurry but I wanted to show you the way the wrap moves. Love that little swing of the hem. In this way, it reminds me of my beloved kimonos I enjoy wearing spring, summer and fall.
Do you have a similar easy piece to bundle up in for colder days? I am thinking this wrap would even work well with my chambray or black dresses. Some tall black boots? What do you think?
Your Turn
When you hear the word ‘wrap’ what do you think of? Is there an item in your closet that gets a lot of love this season as your favorite go-to wrap? Come play dress up with us!!

Oh, girls, I am off to…yup, iron. And clean the downstairs. PC has a long weekend with a day off Monday for Presidents Day. Want to get our house whipped into shape so I don’t have to do it while he is home. We are trying to think what to do over his 3 days off. Any suggestions? What are you up to?
Thanks for popping in. Wishing you a restful weekend. Stay well!!
Hugs and kisses,
jodie filogomo
That’s such a fabulous wrap Leslie. It’s one that I would even pair with white for the springtime.
XOXO

The booties are great with the red and black outfit!!

Those booties are pretty spectacular! I love the colors of your shacket! I always enjoy wearing a column of black because it lets the outer layer take all the glory.

This outfit looks so comfy and cozy, Leslie! I can see why you love it! And, I can’t wait to read more about your pup story!
Joanne
What a lovely and versatile piece!

Your wrap is beautiful, Leslie. I love the colors in it and those booties are gorgeous, too! Thank you for hosting.

What a lovely outfit – those shoes finish the look perfectly!

When I think of a wrap, i think of a piece of material that you literally drape yourself in – and while that looks good, it’s not very functional. I like your idea MUCH better and no iron? Even better.
You look great my friend – so professional and stylish!
Can’t wait to hear all about Pumpkin!

I have a hard time with thicker pieces fitting under coats! I would have to put on the wrap after I took my coat off wherever I was going, which seems too complicated for me!
Jennifer Smith
Super cute outfit…but I especially like the “dressier” version! Love, love the plaid!!
Jill
What a cute topper! Love the buffalo plaid! Those booties are fabulous too!

Because it has sleeves, it seems like it’s a cardigan and not a wrap, but I think I might be having problems seeing the structure in the photos. I have a cardigan from Stitch Fix that is something between a wrap and a cardigan too. I love it though. The colors and plaids are so pretty!

This is the perfect wrap for those cold days and i love the red plaid on you! Just meant to be with those fancy shoes! From time to time I call Gibson “pumpkin” and it is such a cute name. Such a cute pup! I have a bunch of Karina dresses in my closet that dont need ironing and I love it!
Enjoy your day!
