15 Questions About Summer Lovin': TBB Asks, 06.2018

Hola sweet friends,

Here we are.  At the beginning on another month.  And with a whole new set of questions for TBB Asks, 06.2018.  This time 15 Questions About Summer Lovin’.  You can read some of my other TBB Asks posts, here, here, and here.  As you read this month’s questions, play along with me, and think of your answers.  It’ll be fun!

15 Questions About Summer Lovin': TBB Asks, 06.2018

Here are the summer lovin’ Qs and my As.  For fun, I asked PC to play along.  His answers, where applicable, are in green.

1. Walk or bike ride?  Both, please.  But not at the same time!  I have started walking every morning after my quiet time.  Doing so is helping me reach my step goal everyday.  And then PC and I ride bikes to the gym at least once a week. PC – bike.
2. Favorite picnic food?  KFC=Kentucky fried chicken.  FLG=finger-licking good.  PC – hot dogs.
3. Pool or lake?  Probably pool.  My own.  Although, I’ll take water anyway I can get it…ocean, lake, stream, pond, pool, puddle!  PC – pool.
4. Favorite flavor of ice cream?  Rocky road or cookie dough.  Love a good hot fudge sundae, too.  PC – chocolate chip cookie dough.
5. Ice cream cone or in a dish?  Going to go say dish because it’s not as potentially messy on a hot El Paso summer day.  PC – cone.
6. Flip flops or slides?  Flip flops.  PC really dislikes flip flops.  In fact, he calls them ‘shower shoes’ and doesn’t like slides much better.
7. Jean shorts or jean capris?  Both.  I have several pairs of denim shorts.  And like wearing rolled or cuffed jeans, not capris, exactly, when I feel like I should be a little more covered up.  PC – N/A.
8. Favorite summer fruit?  Berries.  Especially the blackberries off my daughter Lauren’s blackberry bush.  THE best berries I have ever eaten.  Oh, and our own peaches last year were juicy and sweet, too.  PC – pineapple.
9. Corn on the cob or cut off the cob? On, please.  Here on the border, we eat Mexican street corn.  It is delicious on and off the cob.  There are food vendors who sell nothing but ‘elotes’.  So flavorful.  PC – on, too!
10. Favorite summertime song?  Hmmm, probably “Boys of Summer” by Don Henley.  Also like “Summer Breeze” by Seals and Croft.  As a young girl, I imagined that song playing some day in my all-grown-up house with the windows open and the kitchen curtains dancing in the breeze.  And now it does.
PC – “Good Vibrations”.
11. Favorite summertime activity?  Being in the water swimming, floating, dipping my toes, tubing, boogie boarding snorkeling, diving, wading.  PC – playing baseball.
12. Favorite berry? Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry or blackberry?  Crispy, sweet blackberries from my daughter Lauren’s blackberry bush.  PC – raspberries, who knew?  Going to buy him some tomorrow!
13. Bikinis, tankinis or one pieces?  We’re talking now at this point in my life, right?  Tankini or one piece but preferably with shorts or a little flirty skirt that covers more.  I like both of these from Chadwicks.  Thinking that ruching would help hold things in and camouflage what can’t be held in.  And I like the skirts.

Check out this $1000 Norma Kamali suit or this Zimmermann ruffle, lace swimsuit.  Probably neither really intended for swimming.  Can’t imagine having a bathing suit I can’t get wet in!  PC – I am sure he would prefer a bikini on someone with the figure for it but I didn’t ask.  Seemed like it would be like dangling a carrot in front of him.

14. Dresses or skirts?  I like both.  Tend to wear more skirts, I think.  But these days, since I am not working, I’m not wearing much of either.  Did wear a denim skirt for our Saturday date night.  PC – N/A.

15.  One word to describe summer.  FUN!  PC – HOT!
Summer is a little different now that I am no longer working in the schools.  There is always so much excitement around finishing up the school year.  I wasn’t even sure when the last day of school was this year.  I think for the first time in 29 years, I didn’t celebrate a last day of school.

    How fun that PC shared in the Q&A!! Cute Chadwicks suits and yes to KFC, my Mr.Nine doesn’t like it but I LOVE it!! Original recipe, lol!

      High five…original recipe all day long. And their cole slaw is the best, bar none.

      PC didn’t know why he was answering the questions…I asked while we were bike riding. Poor guy! I rope him into all kinds of stuff unwittingly. XO

      I have been terrible about 52 Frames the last two weeks. My interest is waning. I just feel like I try to take pictures and never really get anywhere with them. Last week for tools, I had lots of ideas but no energy or interest in realizing them. Hope to do better in the new week.

      I have probably enjoyed checking out the summer song responses best of all. Had forgotten Jimmy Buffet. And Kid Rock. Even this 60 year old grandma can dig some southern rock.

    Love that you included PC in your answers! What a great idea! I also love your outfit, Leslie! Kimonos. Are rocking this summer! And I had to laugh that you bring Kentucky Fried Chicken to a picnic! It’s perfect because obviously you didn’t have to cook it yourself and I’m all about easy peasy!!

    I do love pineapple in the summer too! The ocean kind of freaks me out, so I pretty much only get in water if it’s a pool. 🙂 I need to have a picnic sometime soon. I keep saying I’m going to do it every summer and it never seems to work out.

    I really liked how you had PC answer the questions, too! Sweet. 🙂 I love fresh peaches straight off the tree! Yum!! I have never picked blackberries, but I went to the strawberry patch with the kids last week and they didn’t have the picking part open, so we bought the strawberries in the store. I’d like to go back and pick blackberries, blueberries and peaches later this summer! Yum!! I need to get a bike again!

    Hahaha I like that your husband joined in! How fun. Your summer song choices are perfect. I’m gonna throw in the Will Smith oldie “Summertime” because it’s a fun song and makes me dance.

    I agree on the swimsuit thing… The Hubs keeps showing me these itty bitty things and I’m like, dude, have you seen my body? I mean, like, seriously looked at it.

    You are making me hungry for fresh berries! We had a black raspberry bush but it got cut down (much to my daughter’s dismay) when we had to have 6 of our spruce trees cut down a couple of weeks ago due to a fungus. She was so excited to see it coming back. Hopefully we have some black raspberries again this year! They taste so much better right off the bush!

    I have been on a school calendar my whole life – first as a student, then a teacher, and now a mom. Life will certainly be different in a few years when our next is empty and my life doesn’t have a cycle of “back to school” and “out for summer.” Have a wonderful week!
