Lovelies, hello!
Today’s post is a quick link-up with the gals at The Blended Blog for another of their “TBB Asks” series. When I saw first saw today’s theme, beauty, I figured I could probably skip this edition. At 60 years old, I am still a novice when it comes to this subject. But the girls kept the questions basic and fun. Heck, even I know what an eyelash curler is. Ta-da!
And with that, I give you the first of our questions about beauty.
14 Questions About Beauty: TBB Asks
3. Favorite lipstick shade? Going to admit publicly that I am just getting on the LipSense band wagon. I have two colors so far and two more on their way to me in the mail. My fav so far is Plumeria. Pretty, jewel-toned pink. Here are the colors my LipSense rep and friend Carrie at A Stylish Fit suggested for me. Do you LipSense? What’s your fav?
Kind of the same thing with makeup, minus the lock jaw. I borrowed a little of my mom’s lipstick. Which was about all she wore except for very, very special occasions when she added mascara and powder. (The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.) When I started babysitting, I bought my own lip gloss and blush and mascara, sometime in 8th grade, I would guess.
So, those are my answers to 14 questions about beauty. That didn’t hurt a bit. The TBB girls didn’t ask about anything I had to look up before answering. I am thankful!
Your Turn
How would you answer these questions? Do you shave YOUR legs everyday? Wear foundation? Artificial nails? Won’t you pick a couple of these questions to answer in a comment below? Would love to know I am not alone with some of my answers.
Hope you will stop by again this week for a “Book by Book” post on Tuesday, “Currently” and “Wellness Wednesday”, and “Little Letters” and “10 on the 10th” later in the week. Be sure to say hi!
Hugs and kisses,
Tanya
This is such a fun survey! I am also a very practical gal just like you. I’ve been wanting to try the Fit Me foundation. I’ve heard it’s a good one. Have a great week!

I love the TBB Asks posts. They are fun and it is interesting reading how everyone else answers the questions. I really like the Fit Me foundation and think it is even better with a little coconut oil applied with it. Hope you will give it a go!

That Daisy by Marc Jacobs smells so good!
I use LipSense too but I can’t remember the names of the colors I have. I wear it when I’m teaching so that I don’t have that funky wiped off/eaten off/drank off {drunk? drinked?} missing lipstick look.
Your story about shaving made me giggle. I’m sorry. I can so see me being paranoid about getting lock jaw…LOL

I think we both grew up in pretty conservative/old fashioned families. Had I not taken matters into my own hands and left it up to my mom, I probably wouldn’t be shaving or wearing makeup yet!!

I bet you were the cutest cheerleader in 7th grade! Oh gosh, I remember learning to shave and cutting myself… THE worst! Not sure if I’m looking forward to Autumn shaving in a few more years! Eek! I need to add a few more LipSense colors to my collection, I have a couple that are pretty neutral. I need to add a couple bolder ones.

Thank you, sweet thing! I was the shyest cheerleader ever. The first year I was a cheerleader it was pretty awful but it got better. My oldest daughter gave my youngest a leg-shaving lesson. It was so cute.
I saw some new bright LipSense colors just released for spring. The plumeria is a nice bright pink. I have ordered two nude-ish colors but have a feeling I will prefer the brighter colors on me. Need that pop of color.

I also wear D&G’s Light Blue…funny coincidence (beyond our both having fractures in the last year).
Eyelash curling is a must for me…my lashes have zero curl and more of a downward slant…best tip: heat the curler just a little with your blow dryer. It makes the curl lasts longer.

Another coincidence! They keep popping up. Now we wear the same perfume, too!! Ha!
I really want to start curling my lashes regularly. It isn’t like it takes forever. I am not sure why I am so lazy about things like that and brushing my hair. Love your tip! Going to try it tomorrow. Even if I just curl my lashes to clean toilets at home. The doctor has told me to slow down more on this dumb foot. Was hoping to be released on Monday but no such luck. The tootsie was bruised and swollen again. At this rate, it will be flip-flop season before I am back to wearing matching footwear.

I love the idea of adding essential oils to your lotion. I never thought of that but it’s a great idea. Do you make your own soap.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I would love to make my own soap and have contemplated doing it but have never tried. Maybe I will get very bold and give it a go. The essential oils really ‘dress up’ the generic lotions. See what you think!

Every day is a special day for an eyelash curler! Ha! I guess! I don’t use one, but to each her own! I thank the Good Lord above that I have been blessed with long eyelashes! Happy Beauty Month, Beautiful!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
You sweet angel! Thank you for your message. I am using castor oil on my lashes to grow them out like yours. You lucky duck!! Em mentioned in a comment that heating the eyelash curler a sec before using it helps the lashes to stay curled longer. Going to try it.
