Hola amigas!
We are just home from a week in New Mexico and Arizona. Enjoyed a lazy morning catching up on blog reading and kitty snuggling. Began working on this post while we were gone but hardly had a free minute. We were at the ball park from 9:00 am to after 5 pm almost every day. I am so behind on reading and writing and commenting on posts but have a quiet day set aside tomorrow to get caught up.
Just getting started on my 2018 autumn bucket list over the past couple weeks. Have a look.
My 2018 Autumn Bucket List in ABC Order with Links
Here’s what I have accomplished so far.
- College football game – pending.
- Donation or pay it forward – partial check. Made a donation to my sister’s Relay for Life Facebook fundraiser. Will do so again on payday. You can, too! Follow this link to make a donation in honor or memory of someone you love who’s had to battle cancer.
- Fall craft – pending. Want to do something special. Probably pumpkiny but maybe not. Stay tuned.
- Fire in firepit or fireplace – pending. Once we get home, this will be one of the first activities we accomplish.
- Full moon at White Sands – pending. The last opportunity is on 10.24.2018. Hope to make it happen.
- Groove and Glow 5K Run – check, 09.22.2018. Crazy tough route on the return to the finish line. Uphill much of the way back. I was a-huffin’ and a-puffin’. Didn’t blow any houses down, though, thank goodness!
- Hike – pending. Talked about doing a hike while we were in Phoenix but ran out of daylight and steam everyday.
- Hot air balloon fest in Albuquerque – check, 10.12.2018. So enjoyed this. Not sure who was more mesmerized, Lucia or me.
- Instant Piano Class for Hopelessly Busy People at EP Community College – pending.
- MSBL World Series in Phoenix (PC adds ‘and win a World Series ring’) – check, 10.13.2018-10.19.2018. But sadly we came home without a World Series ring. But they made it into the consolation championship. The Austin Express’s record was 3-4-1.
- My Fashion Haus for looks from the Fall 2018 Work Wear and Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenges – partial check. Shared some of my looks from the Fall Capsule Wardrobe about a week ago, in this post, here. Will be opening my fashion haus again this week for a peek at some more of the outfits from both challenges.
- New soup and Instapot recipes – partial check, Tasty Tuesday on 10.16.2018, crock pot chicken pot pie soup. But come back for Tasty Tuesday, 10.23.2018 and the soup recipe swap blog hop.
- Paint rocks – partial check, 10.06.2018. I have painted some rocks but not thrilled with the way they look. Really want to try painting some more now that I have gotten my feet and my paintbrush wet. Here are pictures of my first attempts.
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Netflix – pending. Watched about 3 minutes worth and then turned it off so I could watch it with PC. Maybe this weekend?

- UTEP dinner theater or dance performance – pending.
By my count that’s 3 activities completed and 4 partially completed that I plan to revisit or improve on. Leaving 8 activities yet to be enjoyed. I have my work cut out for me!
Your Turn
How are you progressing on your 2018 autumn bucket list? Is there anything you forgot to add to your list? If you have a bucket list post to link up, please do so below. If not, would love to hear about your autumn activities in a comment.
Thought I had added an activity about trying new restaurants but looks like I didn’t. Going to try to make that happen anyway. Like extra credit.
Hope you will run back by for our soup recipe swap blog hop on Tasty Tuesday. See you then?
Hugs and kisses,
Gail
Phew, feeling a bit better about the lack of progress on my list! You’ve made progress on 7 so you’re still ahead of me. Lots of catching up to do! Hugs x

We’ve got this girl! We will get all of our activities accomplished before the season ends. I have faith.

Autumn doesn’t officially end until 21 December so you’ve got plenty of time to tick all those pending ones off the list! Love the look of that balloon festival. Looking forward to the Tasty Tuesday posts this week (desperately hoping that I’ve followed the instructions to add the linky bit at the bottom of my contribution correctly – don’t want to break the chain!).

Seems strange that fall ends so late into DECEMBER which I consider a winter month. But thankful I have plenty of time to get everything accomplished on my list. We have been so lazy since getting home from Arizona. Had thought I would knock two or three of the list right away. Should have added sleeping late and being lazy to my fall bucket list. I have done a lot of both for two days.

Looks like you are well on your way to checking off everything on the list. I am inspired by the bucket list and would like to do that at some point but since my dad got ill everything pretty much revolves around him. I am happy to do it though, I have so enjoyed going to my parents house and watching football with him. Why in the heck did it take him getting so sick for me to go over every weekend and watch football with him? Ugh, the guilt mixed with joy that I have about this time.
xo,
Kellyann

I share your same feelings of guilt and joy. All of my adult life, I have struggled to make ends meet. Finally, since marrying my PC, I have fewer money worries and have been able to treat my mom to books in big print, a new top, a necklace, a new bra, of all things!! All of which she has more than enough money to buy for herself but I love surprising her with little things. And I struggle with making time to call her. Because of the two hour time difference from her house in KY and mine in TX, it is hard to find a time when we both are available to chat. I need to call more often no matter what is going on in my life. There will come a day when I won’t be able to call and will sure wish I had done more when I could.
Keep the bucket lists post in mind for another season. Enjoy football with your dad.

Love your hot air balloon slide show, Leslie. Thank you for sharing it here and for organizing this link up even though you’ve been out of town. I’d be mesmerized by the hot air balloons, too. We still have two months to go for this autumn list so no worries, you’ll get what you want done done.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Natalie. The hot air balloon fiesta was such a treat. So much to see. My neck hurt afterward from looking up for hours!!

I’ll have an update on mine in a month, but I think you’re off to a good start. And I really like the rocks you painted – so cute!

Please link up your update in November with ours on 11.21! I look forward to reading your progress. Thanks for the sweet words about my rock painting. I really want to try again with a little more confidence. Your kind words will be be tucked in my heart.

If I made then started an Autumn bucket list, I would have to really retire, Leslie! If I were to have a winter bucket list, it will be to plan our Grand Circle Road Trip for late December/Early January! Hubby finally bought his dream truck so we can pull our travel trailer ourselves. I may PM you for ideas for stops in Northern AZ, Southern Utah if you have been to any of the national parks. We have an idea of where we want to stop, but I need to get the map and start planning!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Terri, what an adventure you are in for with your trip to Arizona/Utah. Congratulations on hub’s new truck. Glad you have this to look forward to. Make a winter bucket list of things you want to see and do on your trip and join us. We will share our winter bucket lists on 12.21!

We watched The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Netflix a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it! Some parts made me tear up, but it was good! That chicken pot pie looks so good, I need to have a week of just chilis and soups soon since the temps have gotten cooler! I also need an instant pot! 🙂

I thought I would use my Instapot constantly but I really haven’t. I need to get it out and force myself to try it more often. I just grab my crock pot because it is so easy and so familiar. Wasn’t Guernsey a good movie? I teared up too. When I read the book, I gasped aloud when I read that Elizabeth had died, the gal who was the mastermind behind the group. The book was really good, written all in letters.

I was not sure what Full Moon at White Sands was so I clicked on it. It sounds so beautiful and romantic!! I would love to see that sometime. Also, the Albuquerque Balloon Fest is legendary. Another time for my bucket list! Someday.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
So impressed that you followed the link to check out the full moon at White Sands. We go tomorrow. Have had rain all day today but hope the clouds will have moved out by sunset tomorrow. Stay tuned for pics!!
Hope you will get to see the Albuquerque balloon fiesta. It was breath-taking. I want to make it an annual trek now. Someday I might even go up in one!
Thanks so much for coming by, Karen. How are you? Any mission trips planned for the near future? You guys do such amazing work.

I’ve always dreamed of going to the balloon festival! We lived near the Mosel River Valley in Germany a long time ago, and every now and then a hot air balloon would drift across our village! They’re magical, aren’t they! Mesmerizing, even! Yes! * I’m glad you took some time to rest when you got back from the world series. I bet you were both exhausted! * Your rocks are SO happy! I love them! * I need to watch Guernsey again! I think I’ve watched it only 2 or 3 times! * I’m chuckling at your comment about your Instant Pot (in comments). I have 2 and use them ALL THE TIME! LOL! * Thanks again for organizing this for us!
