Fashionistas,
Imagine my delight to receive an email invitation from Jennie at A Pocketful of Polka Dots, to join her and a group of other very stylish gals for their very first Ageless Style Link-Up of the new year! Pinch me! I was in Kentucky when the email arrived and I opened it, was so honored but forgot to respond. When I got home from mom’s, I started sorting through all of my email and rediscovered Jennie’s note. Was so scared that I had messed up and the ladies would have selected someone else to guest host. Scrambled to write an email asking just that…was it too late?? And was thrilled when Jennie said she had been just waiting to hear back from me. I was still in! How about that?
Which brings me to today. Here I am linking-up to share my faux fur look, our prompt for today’s post. I really, really, really wanted to go shopping for something new and furry but then I got sick. Boo. And the only shopping I felt like doing was for NyQuil and cough syrup and my prescriptions at Walmart.
In fact, the day I styled my fur and PC shot some pictures, we were both so sick. And the steroids made my face especially round and full. Then to compound things, we took oodles of pictures in 40* temps from our backyard and then I realized the SD card wasn’t in my camera. With fevers on board by this time, PC and I hurried back out to snap some more pics.
So, without further adieu, I give you my faux fur look, straight from my fashion haus to yours!
The Ageless Style Link-Up: Faux Fur for the Win
The Pieces
My faux fur pieces included a Mossismo faux fur vest from Target, several gifted faux fur scarves and headbands from Lauren, my Plunder leopard cuff, and BCBG hand-me-down from Brennyn leopard heels. I asked PC to pick his favorite look and that is the one I am sharing with you.
Faux leather leggings from Loft (exact, similar), Express white utility shirt (exact, similar), faux fur infinity scarf from Target (similar, similar), BCBG faux fur leopard heels (exact, similar) and my fun Plunder faux fur leopard cuff.
Can you ever wear too much leopard?
The Whole
After taking all the pictures the first time, I was a little goofier the second time ’round.
Can’t wait to wear my faux leather, or as they say at work vegan leather leggings on a date night. Maybe for our backwards date. One of the activities on my 2019 winter bucket list.
Wore my faux fur scarf with my faux fur headband. There’s no such thing as too much leopard print. How ’bout too much faux fur?
And last but not least, a pic with my photo bomber Purrsimmony.
She was outside for the first photo shoot but got cold and left us to our own devices the second time around. Have to ask, who wears fur better?
Faux Fur Alternatives
Old Navy puffer vest, Target faux fur infinity scarf.
Mossimo faux fur vest from Target.
Using a Target faux fur headband as a collar.
So glad to be feeling better, and to be looking a little less puffy in the face. Now to get into the gym and do something about the puffiness everywhere else! Going tomorrow, I promise.
Your Turn
Do you have a favorite faux fur piece? If so, how do you style it? It has finally been cold enough here to wear my fur. Maybe I will wear some to work tomorrow. It is freezing in there.
If you have a faux fur look to share, won’t you link-up with us?
Then, please be sure to run by to check out the great faux fur looks the Ageless Style bloggers are featuring today. Find them here.

That s a fabulous outfit Leslie! Those leggings suit you so very well and the faux fur is fantastic! Love it!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Aww, Nancy, thanks doll. I was so shy about putting on my faux leather leggings and then showing my Prince Charming. But they are so comfy that I was soon over all the modesty. Leggings just tend to make me feel naked! Even though I am totally covered up.
Debs
You look fabulous, no one would ever guess how ill you were feeling! I don’t have too much fur, except for the edging on the hood of my winter coat and the pom pom on my wooly hat, not quite as glamorous as the outfits you have put together!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Debs, I see all these fancy gals wearing faux fur and faur leather and fi-fi foo-foo and I want to try it, too. But I am really more of a blue jean baby. I love to wear heels and dress up but these days have so few occasions to do so. Hard to justify panty hose for a trip to Walmart. Last year I bought a tulle skirt then promptly broke my foot and never really wore it anywhere. Want to wear it and these vegan leather leggings somewhere!!!
Amy Scott
I love the shoes and earrings! No you can’t have too much!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Amy, for coming by to check out my blog and my faux fur pieces. I was so honored to be invited to join the gals for this month’s Ageless Style link-up. My leopard shoes are not the most comfortable but I love feeling like a fancy lady wearing them. Hope to get my Prince Charming to take me out for date night in this outfit on Saturday.
Cindi
Leslie, those shoes you are wearing are to die for! So sexy! (as is your whole outfit!)
I have one leopard print top that I love to wear over black leggings. Looks fab! I usually wear it to cocktail parties or other similar celebrations.
You go girl!
Hope you are feeling better.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thanks, Cindi. My leopard shoes were hand-me-downs from my older daughter. You and I both appreciate a bargain! Especially a free one. They aren’t comfy enough to wear for long periods of walking but I sure do like the way they look and make me feel. Isn’t leopard divine? I am sure your leopard/legging outfit is smashing. You should share it with us!
Chrissy
You look great in your faux fur Leslie! I fear i have little in this department and may need to reconcile this. In the meantime, my leopard flats have been an outfit lifesaver! Thanks for sharing good tips – loved that you used something for the head as a scarf! Nicely done. Have a great week!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Chrissy, thank you for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment. I was so honored to be invited to co-host with the gals for January’s Ageless Style link-up. I wore out my first pair of leopard flats years ago. Walked a hole in them! My second pair was sturdier but not as comfortable and versatile as the first pair. And my leopard heels are less comfortable still but sure are fun to wear!
Laura
CONGRATS to you, Sister!! I love your Faux Fur look!! You look so beautiful and happy! I hope the holidays were good to you!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, baby girl! I feel like I have ‘arrived’ having been asked to co-host with the fabulous gals with the Ageless Style link-up. I am probably old enough to be all of their mothers. Really pushing that ageless envelope over here!
Dara
Hope you’re feeling all better! I don’t own any faux fur. I always felt like my hair was too puffy to add any other puff!
em
Hey! Congratulations on a well-chosen host! I always enjoy visits to you Fashion Haus, bc we seem to have similar styles and sizing. Love your pics and fashion choices…AND PC’s participatory support. Great faux fur options. Personally, I’m loving the leopard accessories I see everywhere and even bought a pair of pumps like yours before discovering my Mr. is really uncomfortable with that particular print. SO old school!!!! Grrr! 😤 I’ll have to live vicariously through YOUR gorgeously fashionable feet on this one. At least he doesn’t mind my leopard sneakers.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Sweet Em, while you and I are very similar in many ways, so it seems are our Princes Charming. My PC doesn’t really ‘dig’ the faux leopard/faux leather trends. He doesn’t understand why I would buy shoes that aren’t real leather. Ka-ching. That’s why!! I would rather have a lot of cheap shoes than one or two pairs of good shoes. And I take some bit of satisfaction or sense of relief that no moo cows or purring leopards were sacrificed for my fashion vanity!
Come do a fashion haus post with me! We would have so much fun. Maybe we could bribe our husbands to take some really artsy photos of us. Think about it and let me know!
Sharon
Gorgeous BFF!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
AWWW, you can comment! Thank you, doll. So glad you are able to comment. Have missed your loving voice. XO Love you.
jodie filogomo
You are such a doll….look at how effortless you are modeling in these photos. Maybe you need to do it a second time all the time??
And how funny we both included fur pets in our photos. They definitely wear it better!!!
But girl…all my comments are more about you and your leopard pumps!! You stole the show!!
See? I knew you were a fashionista! Truly, truly an inspiration and wonderful addition to this group!!
XOXO

Dearest Jodie, I read this comment from you yesterday and tucked it away in my heart. Your words made my day. They made me laugh and warmed me from the inside out. Thank you for your friendship, your vote of confidence in me. It was a delightful experience to be among such a fashionable gaggle of gals!
Jennie
So glad you were able to join us this month, sweet Leslie. Girl, you brought it with this theme! I would have never guessed you weren’t feeling well because you look amazing. Your faux leather leggings look so good with the leopard and fur!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Jennie, I can’t thank you enough for the invitation to join you for January. Had so much fun just thinking about this prompt and anticipating being a part of the Ageless Style link-up. Do you send out emails with the prompts ahead of time to the fans/readers? I would like to create an outfit for your next prompt and link-up with you when your posts go live in February. You gals inspire me to want to try new trends and to up my game. Thank you so much.
Emma Peach
Fabulous outfit! I love the leopard print shoes! I hope you’re feeling better now.

Thank you, sweet Emma. Loved playing dress up with the gals for the Ageless Style link-up. I am feeling almost 110% again and hoping I can persuade my Prince Charming to take me out on the town in my faux everything outfit this weekend.
Kellyann Rohr
Yay Leslie!!! I absolutely LOVE your outfit, you nailed it! Smokin hot sister! I ma sorry you and your PC were both so sick when you took pics but no one would ever know, you worked it like a supermodel! I really like all of your pieces. I keep hearing about Plunder and have even toyed with the idea of selling it but then I snap back to reality and think I have enough on my plate trying to figure out the whole blogging thing!
I am so happy you joined us!
xo,
Kellyann
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha! Between you and Jennie and Jodie, I am getting the ‘big head’ over here. Loved feeling snazzy and fashionable and on-trend. And so enjoyed being a guest host for January. It was such fun thinking about the post ahead of time. My PC even got into his job as fawning paparazzi.
My sister had a Plunder party online and that was the first I had heard of it. The two pieces I purchased for myself were really well made and unique. I sent both daughters earrings and they seemed pleased with them, too. I would love to sell Plunder or maybe try my hand at a party but I am not a sales person at all. I wind up giving folks big discounts when I try to sell things, or buy something for everyone I know and don’t make much money, if any.
But, alas, blogging and my little part-time job and family fill my plate spilling over, too.
Heather Noire
I love the animal print details! Such a great outfit with pure style attached 🙂

Thank you, dear Heather. Sure enjoyed linking up with the wonderful fashionistas for the Ageless Style challenge. Felt like a real fancy lady!
Kim
I’m glad you got back to the email inviting you to co-host, I know it’s easy to lose track of them when you’re out of town. Wow, you have a lot of fur pieces. With those leggings and shoes, all of the looks are fab!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Funny, Kim, how I have followed you on Instagram and yet just discovered your blog. Now following you there on Bloglovin’ and on Pinterest, too, for the trifecta! Sure enjoyed being a guest host for Ageless Style. Hope to link up with you gals for February’s post.
Daenel T.
I can’t believe you were sick. You look fabulous!!!!
And that look? Hot momma!!! Definitely wear that exact outfit for date night. So sexy.
Also Jennie couldn’t have picked a better cohost for this challenge. Glad you’re with us.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Aww, you are such a doll. I was so excited upon reading Jennie’s invite. Loved dressing up with all of you fashionistas. Have admired the Ageless Style looks for a long time. Hope to be able to link-up when you share February’s prompt, too. Thank you for the support and kind words.
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
Isn’t it awesome when you get an email for a fun collaboration like this? I have to say this is one of my favorite looks on you EVER!!! I love it! You look so sassy yet it is still classy! And, UGH to being sick. I think I’m just finally feeling normal after a stomach bug I got Friday at midnight. I think I may actually try and work out again tomorrow morning. It left me feeling so weak and I finally have my appetite back!! I can’t even tell you are sick in these photos!

Oh, Carrie, you are always so good and sweet and supportive. I felt like a fish out of water with these glamorous gals but how I loved it! Hope you are feeling better now after your stomach bug. This coughing and snorkiness we have had just keeps lingering. I am off work tomorrow, and don’t tell PC, but I might take a nap and lay around a whole lot of the day.
Thank you so much for the compliments about my faux fur and leggings look. Hoping we can do our backwards date this weekend and maybe I will wear this outfit!
Jill
So excited to see you hosting and I’m glad that you’re feeling better! I love how you styled your faux fur! This is such a great look! Those leggings look amazing on you!
Jill – Doused in Pink
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hey Jill, thank you for coming by! I felt so shy putting on these faux leather leggings and ‘modeling’ – HA – in front of PC. Wouldn’t have been much more uncomfortable if I had been standing out there naked…just colder! Hoping this weekend, I can get over my insecurities long enough to wear my faux fur and leather out into the world for date night. Stay tuned.
Deborah Stinedurf
This is such a great outfit…I love the pumps! Thank you so much for joining us this month and kudos for the dedication taking these shots when you were sick. Hopefully you’re feeling better!

Thank you doll!! Guess I need to wear these shoes more often. Thank you for stopping by.
Danielle
Boom! You nailed the look gf! I love the whole outfit. And the story to go with it.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you. Hope you have some faux fur to bundle up with this week. Your temps look beyond what I can handle! Brrr. My brother says it will be 21* in Kentucky when I arrive Saturday. And a low of 4* that night. Yikes.
