Fashionistas and friends,
Back in my fashion haus again for today’s post. The folks at Ethyl Clothing reached out inviting me to try a pair of their pants, a top or both in exchange for a review of those pieces on my blog. I had seen some darling Ethyl pieces styled by some of the fashion bloggers I admire most so I was thrilled to be invited to do the same.
Ethyl Clothing: It’s About Fit & Style
There were so many trendy, fun pieces to choose from! Finally decided on a couple of Ethyl’s new arrivals. The Mabel-Jennifer denim jacket and the Addyson-Amber leggings. Because I was ordering online and not trying on the pieces in person, I found Ethyl’s size chart helpful in determining my perfect size. The company recommends that your best fit for their clothes will be one size smaller. Don’t know about you, but I love that vanity sizing business. And if that means I am vain, feel free to call me vain all day long! Also appreciate that the models on the Ethyl Clothing website are not emaciated Twiggies. They are real gals who eat real food and look great in their skin. And in their clothes!
I placed my order and within just a few days my clothes had arrived. Like Christmas!
Addyson-Amber Leggings
Because I was so afraid that despite Ethyl’s advice and good sizing charts, my behind would be too big for a size medium, I was scared to try on my new Addyson-Amber leggings for a day or two. But I was instantly in love when I did. Perfect fit.
Let me start by saying my photographs do not do these leggings justice. They are absolutely beautiful.
It is hard to capture all of the subtle color in a photograph.
When I unwrapped the leggings, my first impression was that they were black, brown and the best color in the world…OLIVE.
But in looking at them more closely, there is some dusty rose, some blush and just a hint of gold sparkle in a little metallic thread woven through the leggings.
They are lovely. And will pair with so many colors in my closet. This faux fur duster or ‘vegan’ fur, as my boss likes to say, is a piece I found at Charming Charlie’s last winter.
I think pairing the duster with my Addyson-Amber leggings, Portofino blouse from Express, and mixed media booties from DSW, makes the perfect date night outfit.
One of the activities on my 2018 mini holiday bucket list is a backwards date. This outfit will be ideal for what I have planned for our date.
Exchanged the booties for my Rampage black boots. Love how my leggings held their shape. Such a comfortable fit. The perfect amount of stretch, a comfortable wider waist band, great length for any shoe or boot.
Mabel-Jennifer Denim Jacket
My second piece from Ethyl Clothing’s new arrivals was this Mabel-Jennifer denim jacket.
I’d been wanting a dark wash jacket. Fell in love with this one not only for it’s dark denim but for it’s fun paisley lining!
Have a whole Pinterest board devoted to my love of a good paisley print.
The fabric in the jacket is a cotton blend; 98% cotton with 2% spandex for just a bit of give. Compared to my old light wash denim jacket, the Mabel-Jennifer is softer, and allows me to move around easier. So important for a busy wife, mom, grandma and responsible pet-owner on the go.
The photo below provides the best, truest look at the lovely colors in these leggings. You just can’t see the bit of sparkle that make them dressier. Funkier. More fun.
In the next pics, I’ve paired the jacket with a gray cowl neck tunic, black leggings and my faux Uggs. The Ethyl label on the jacket was so pretty, I didn’t want to take it off!
Wore it like a brooch on my lapel all day. A piece of statement jewelry!
Photo Shoot
My PC was so agreeable and good to help me with my photos for this post. I showed him some of the work of Carrie’s Brian and Jodie’s Rob (and I think Kellyann’s mister and Daenel’s hubs help them, too) on their blogs for inspiration. I am about as stiff as a carp trying to ‘model’ but once PC got me giggling, we had a good time taking the photos for this post.
Naturally, the wind was blowing a gale…40 mph, at least. But on even the stillest days my hair looks like I’ve been in a tornado. So that’s what we were working with over here.
Thank you to all of the fashion bloggers I love and follow…Laura, and Laura, Andrea and Shelley and Jennie, and the gals mentioned above. Tried to channel all of you in this post. When and if I ever grow up, I hope to be able to hang with the pros!
Your Turn
Have you heard of Ethyl Clothing? If not, I invite you…no, make that encourage…ENCOURAGE (in capitals and boldface) you to check them out. Well made, trendy clothing made for real women. After seeing Carrie in the Millie-Vera teddy bear top, I am pretty certain I need one of those snuggly tops for myself.
Thank you, Ethyl Clothing, for this wonderful opportunity to review your clothing. So happy to have met you! I am a fan.

Update on My Mom
I was happy to learn we had today off at work for former President Bush’s memorial. That doesn’t sound right. I don’t mean I was happy about his passing. Just happy to have this day to recognize his honorable life (and to selfishly, have some time to pack and get ready for my trip to Kentucky). We are hoping my mom will be released to my brother and me on Friday but she has developed some additional concerns involving her heart and vision. My sister will be flying up on Tuesday and we will all be together with our mama for a brief time. Hope to get in lots of good love.
Thank you for your friendship and prayers.
Hugs and kisses,
Kellyann Rohr
Well first of all Leslie, I wish you all the very best as you travel to see your mom. I am so happy you and your siblings will be with her. Enjoy that time and get in all the good lovin’!
Now let’s talk about Ethyl. Girl, you killed it. The leggings look terrific on you and that denim jacket is a keeper! The paisley lining, oh my, so special.
My husband is my photographer and bless his heart we are learning together. I need to be more independent and use the tripod. Goals. Your photos are great and your PC must love you to pieces!
Be blessed my friend!
xo,
Kellyann

I absolutely love the pieces you chose, Leslie! And I’m so jealous that your pool is still so blue and sparkly!

Sending up all kinds of love and prayers for your mom {and for you to have safe travels}.
You are owning that look from Ethyl. The leggings fit you perfectly. It’s good to know there’s no sagging. That’s almost always my problem with leggings – they start to bag in the knees. I also love that dusty pinky mauvy color on you. So pretty.
I actually do my own photography {which is why the focus is sometimes hit or miss}. LOL I wish The Hubs would act as my photographer, it would help me out soooo much. Then again, he’d make me all giggly, so the focus would still be off. LOL

You look wonderful as usual Leslie. And I don’t think you give yourself enough credit….your photos are looking great and you are showcasing the clothes so well.
Those leggings are such a great item. The colors work with so many pieces, and a denim jacket is always fabulous!!
And aren’t you a doll for crediting my hubby. We have been working hard to get my moms more comfy in front of the camera. It’s way more fun with 3 of us (usually…ha ha). And lately we’ve been telling mom that we are moving and grooving. There’s no posing, but just fun!!
XOXO

You look so nice, Leslie. I really love those leggings, I like that they have a little dusty rose, olive AND gold (my favorite color) in them. That top brings out the color in them and I love that fur duster!!!! Ohh, it looks so cozy and warm and chic, too! That denim jacket is nice with the paisley detail! I didn’t know you were a big time paisley lover, but if you have a Pin board dedicated to it, I believe you! Ha!! Hope you get to your mom, I saw on IG you had a canceled flight! UGHHHH! That is always the worst.
