Hey dolls!
My Style Me Blogger pal Carrie at A Lovely Little Wardrobe is creating 28 looks this month from items in her closet. I have been following her and some of our mutual blogger buds – Sheila at Sheila’s Potpourri, Karen at She Thought She Could So She Did and Katie at The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life as they pull together some great looks straight out of their existing wardrobes. I have been dying to play along but seems that I forget to check Carrie’s suggested theme until I am dressed for the day. And I am too lazy to change.
But last night I went to bed knowing we would be stylin’ stripes today. I even remembered this morning when I went to the closet to figure out what I was wearing to sub today. And so, here I am in all my striped glory!

All hee-hawing aside, I love today’s outfit.
Is that vain of me to say? Overly confident? Boastful? I hope not. Because I truly do love it.
Oh, striped outfit, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love this mustard cardigan. Had not worn it until today. Hadn’t worn mustard (except dripping from my hot dog) until this fall. Love it. Would never, ever, ever have put a striped scarf with a striped tee…EVER…until I became emboldened by the Style Me Challenges. And then to throw all caution to the wind and add even more pattern in my leopard shoes? Borderline unconscionable in my pre-challenge life. And as if that isn’t enough rule breaking for one day, I added a necklace with a scarf. Say what?
Don’t you love the way the blurry middle photo just smooths away all of my wrinkles? Thank goodness for me, Paul keeps saying that his vision is getting worse but he won’t wear his glasses. Hopefully, through his eyes, I look like I do in picture number two.
Here are the ingredients for today’s ensemble:
- Mustard cardigan from Loft
- Hinge striped, long-lace-sleeved tee from Nordstrom
- Merona blue skirt from Target
- Striped scarf from Wal-mart
- Statement watch from Charming Charlie’s
- Faux Stella and Dot ladder necklace and earrings (I can’t remember where I bought them)
- Comfort Plus furry leopard pumps from Payless
I subbed at a high school library today (and I thought middle school art was scary two weeks ago). It felt good to be me. I am thinking that I am beginning to get the hang of this retirement gig. I am thankful that when I turn out the library lights this afternoon, I won’t have lesson plans and schedules and projects to work on when I get home. There is something to be said for being able to call my evenings at home my own.
And that’s reason to smile!
Hugs and sticky kisses,
Sheila @ Sheila's Potpourri
I love that we were twinning! Thanks for the shoutout!

I would never have worn mustard or any shade of yellow before Alison’s challenges. Would you have been comfortable wearing it? It is now my new fav. Love that we were twinsies, too. Thank you for stopping by!

I am sure it was because I was so smokin’ hot that work blocked my pic! Ha, not even…but I did like this outfit. Thank you for coming by, Sarah.
