Fashionistas and clothes-wearing friends, thank you for popping in for Breaking Out the Booties: Ageless Style 11.2021. I am so happy that temps have dipped below 80* and I can finally break out my booties. Another downward turn in the temperature, and I hope to be wearing my boots!!
This style series is hosted by 9 of my blogging buddies and me. Our group recently expanded so you might see some new faces starting with this month’s edition. Honored to be joining this stylish group of fashion bloggers. Hope you will stop by to check out the booties of all of my fashionable friends. Booties as in footwear, that is!!
AGELESS STYLE LINK UP
The Ageless Style Link Up goes live on the third Thursday of the month. For each post one of the gals in the group selects a theme then all of us put together a look or looks reflecting it. Last month’s theme was ‘cozy cardigans,’ chosen by Amy at Amy’s Creative Pursuits. If you missed that post, please have a peek here. The month before, Mireille at Chez Mireille Fashion Travel Mom selected ‘gem colors’ for our theme. You can check out that post, here. I wore my garnet colored skater dress from Amazon. It is a great dress, available in prints and solids, at a great price. Check it out!!

Breaking Out the Booties: AGELESS STYLE 11.2021
This month’s prompt was one I was excited to style. Have been ready since August to break out my booties and boots but with our crazy loooong summer-like temperatures, September and even October looked more like June. On the Sunday that I put on my booties for the the first time this fall, the high was still in the mid-70*s. Gotta love El Paso…unless you are dying to wear your blanket scarves, boots and sweaters!!
Knew I wanted to ‘showcase’ my L’Artiste booties that PC gave me for Chirstmas last year, because I’ve hardly had an opportunity to wear them. Hard to justify wearing them around the house on lockdown!! So, I was super anxious to have a real occasion to wear them. This is the second pair of L’Artiste booties my sweet Prince C. has gifted me and I love them both.
A little about L’Artiste booties by Spring Step. They are beautiful and live up to their name…like wearable art. Fashionable and comfortable. Something my feet rarely experience in the cheaper, lesser-quality shoes I tend to buy for myself. These booties are a fashion statement with their hand-painted leather, European attention to detail and nod to French artists. Available on Amazon, please use my affiliate link to check them out.
While you are there, check out some of the other L’Artisite styles.
L’Artiste Kacielou Bootie
I chose to pair these cutie booties with a Loft fit and flare dress. Thought the pattern in the dress replicated the curly cues in the leather of the booties. In the past, I’ve kept things simple…wore this dress with dark hose and black pumps. This time I went a little crazy with the pattern mixing adding herringbone textured tights to the mix!!
This dress is easy to wear, too. And bonus…it doesn’t have to be ironed.
Decided the multi-strand necklace was a bit heavy so traded it out for a lighter piece with matching earrings. And I was ready for church.
Out the Door
All those patterns kind of meld together in the photo above, huh? I don’t look quite as much like a circus clown as I might have with so much going on!!
Posed real quick at church, even though we were running late. Shhh, don’t tell. I’m sure God was just glad we showed up.
After church, we ate a very early lunch at Texas Roadhouse. We are doing Weight Watchers again but usually allow ourselves one weekend day to indulge a bit. This new personal plan program has a learning curve. But I think we are going to like it. Now, to lose some of this extra baggage we picked up during Covid. After lunch, we walked off our meal at the outlet mall.
Was so proud of myself. Didn’t spend a penny at the mall. A little window shopping is all. And taking a few photos of things I liked. I find that trick helps to keep me from spending money. Really liked these soft blanket scarves at Lucky Outlet. Would smother in one here but for a few days a year.
We topped things off with a chocolate dipped soft serve ice cream cone at DQ as we drove home across the mountain. It was a very nice Sunday. And best of all, my feet didn’t hurt a bit after breaking out my booties for the first time this season.
Here’s a round up of some of the ways I have worn booties in the past. Interestingly, I rarely have worn them with dresses. Thinking that might have to change.
Your Turn
Thank you for stopping in today. We are meeting with a lawyer about our pool this afternoon. Had another inspection done and a number of construction defects were noted. Now to try to get some help in getting things fixed.
Hope you will take a few minutes to visit the blogs of my stylish friends joining me for this edition of Ageless Style.

Love those boots! So unusual. Your outfit looks so pretty, it’s good to try something different isn’t it?

I love a pair of ankle boots – especially with skinny jeans – my go-to winter outfit! Yours are really unusual and it was a bold move to mix them with a patterned dress (but it worked well). I’ve just bought myself some new sandals for when Summer finally arrives – I’m tired of long sleeves and long pants and closed in shoes – bring on the sunshine!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hope you are soon bathed in glorious sunshine and warm temps. I am hopeful for just a bit of snow and then bring back the sun. We have sunshine almost every single day of the year, which has earned us the title “Sun City.” So even on cold days, we can still be warmed by the sun.
Kellyann Rohr
Beautiful booties – they really make a statement with how pretty they are! That’s so great too that you were able to wear them comfortably the first day. You have quite the collection of booties, I just love wearing them in fall and winter – no need for a pedicure!
Congrats on the window shopping too – I have an easier time doing that when Brian is with me; it’s like hunting with the game warden – hahahaha!!!
xo,
Kellyann

That’s the best thing about this season! Wearing bootoes! Yours are fabulous! And they look great under the dress! I love this look a lot.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you so much. Want to try the booties with a skirt next!!
Mica
Those are really cute statement boots and they work well with your dress, it’s a lovely pattern on you! 🙂
Hope that your week is going well 🙂 It was another rainy spring day here!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, friend. Enjoying some fall weather = finally!!
Joanne
It must be a challenge dressing for fall when it’s still so warm out. Here I was happy we had a day with temps near 50 so I didn’t have to wear a jacket in my photos! Your booties are adorable with that dress and I just love any pair of shoed that I can wear for a whole day and not have sore feet.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Finally, finally, we are having some chilly days. I am so excited that I want to wear 2-3 different outfits a day just to wear them all!! For so long, I have tortured my feet with inexpensive, uncomfortable shoes. PC really spoiled me with these booties and some Frye boots. Thank you for the sweet compliments.
Jill
We had a long fall with great weather but now we have temps in the 30’s so I’m a little jealous of your 70-degree weather! The hand-painted leather and detailing on your booties are so pretty! Love them styled with that dress! Such a fabulous look!

Those are really nice and I’m glad to hear they were comfortable too!

I had not heard of L’artiste boots till Marsha started sharing hers. They have beautiful details and I love the outfit you put together to show them off. It’s cold enough here some days that I have pulled out the boots but still mostly booties weather.

Aww, sweet thing, thank you!!

LOVE, love, love the booties – love all the pattern on them. I think you could wear those with most anything – I sure would. I have some plain black ones, but I love your ‘fancy’ ones. Your PC did a great job. Your whole outfit is cute and the outlet mall sounds like fun. Glad you had a pleasant Sunday.

I love that you wore those amazing booties with a dress Leslie!! I’m shocked you went shopping and didn’t spend a penny. I wish I would do that more often, haha.

Oh, Jodie, shopping and not buying anything is pretty unfamiliar and out of character for me, too. I want to wear my booties with a skirt next. Planned to try it today for church but we overslept.
Amy Johnson
Those booties are so unique and I love how you styled them.
Karen Kasberg
Your outfit and so fun, and the color of your dress is absolutely perfect on you!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you. I always feel a little cliche in blue…with blue eyes. So I don’t wear it much. Thank you for the encouragement to wear it more often.
Daenel T.
Those booties are so cute. I’m a fan of L’Artiste by Springstep too. They’re so funky!
I like that you stepped out of your comfort zone and did all of the pattern mixing — I think it’s such a fun look and adds a lot of interest.
Cammi Allen
Okay well those studded booties are ADORABLE!!! Such a unique pattern and look to them! And I totally believe that God is pleased that you showed up.. late doesn’t matter, haha! 😉

I want those booties, they’re fantastic!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you so much!! Bonus…they are comfy, too!!
Jenny Pink
Really great ensemble, the details on those shoes MWAH
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you so much. I love them. And they are comfortable!! Tried to leave a comment on your post about pairing colors with gray and the foundation post but couldn’t figure out how to do that. I appreciate your comment here!
Bojana Krienke
I love the artistic vibes of these booties. I’ve never heard of this brand but I am so intrigued! They look fantastic with the dress you choose and the dress fits you like a glove. I’ve got to ask, how tall are you? You always look so tall and slender, I was actually surprised that you were on WW. I’ve only done their program once or twice, after babies, it’s the only one that I am willing to look at because it teaches you how to enjoy all the foods without making me change how I eat in drastic, unsustainable ways. Anyway, it looks like you and PC had a lovely Sunday and I am so happy you got to break in your new booties.

Hey doll baby!! Thank you for the sweet comments. I am 5’4.5″ or 5’5″. I have begun to shrink…waaaaaa!! So my lifetime weight of 138 is really still a little heavy on me these days. I would look a bit better at about 134. Thank you for the compliments!! Weight Watchers works best for us because it allows you to eat. I like that we make choices. When we had our baseball team party on Saturday, I had 2 beers, a slice of pizza and little pasta salad and cake. And I tracked all of that. Then knew I had to be very careful the next few days. It is all about balance.
