We may not have crimson colored maple leaves or golden oaks and acorns in the Chihuahuan Desert fall but we have our own autumn beauty. Thanks to the crazy, unseasonal rains we have experienced since the end of July, the mountains, the desert and all of El Paso is in bloom more like April than October.
This Sunday was the last day of the Style Me Fall Challenge and the day that Paul and I hiked up McKelligon for the second week in a row. Yay, us. Because of our warm temperatures there are still some of the challenge outfits I haven’t worn or even put together yet. But with the promise of lows in the upper 30s, I am pulling my puffer vest out front in my closet.
So here are a couple of my final outfits. I kind of lost track of what day I was wearing but decided that didn’t really matter. The whole point of this challenge (and all of the others) has been to help us put together a timeless fall wardrobe that built from strong basics accented by a few trendier pieces. Mission accomplished! Thank you, Alison Lumbatis and my new fashion friends for inspiring me to think out of the closet.
In looking at these four outfits, I think the things I have tried that I wouldn’t have on my own are pattern mixing and jeans tucked into my boots. Had a (now ex) husband who said that wearing boots over your pants was a no-go. Not sure why I listened to him. About fashion. About anything.
Please check out the recap of my fashionista sisters by following them to their blogs through the links below.
Although this challenge has come to an end, a group of us challenge participants have decided to continue to connect with one another and YOU through a Style Me Bloggers link up series.
