Hello, friends!
I have been excited about this post and link-up since some of my bbfs (best blogging friends) started talking about it in March. I had the best of intentions in joining them for the inaugural “Sentence a Day” post written a sentence at a time throughout April, compiled and shared on their blogs the first week of May. But then I was out of town so much of the month that I struggled to keep up with the daily commitment.
Happy to report that I was successful in writing my sentence each day in May with Sarah’s encouragement and gentle reminders and here they are for your consideration.
5/1 Some days, some weeks, some months, you just want to pull the covers back over your head to wait out the storms from your bed.
5/2 I feel guilty taking time for myself but need to remember that sometimes it’s ok to put myself and what I want first.
5/3 Looking forward to being out of school this summer.
5/4 Super glad my work week is over…even if it means having a mammogram tomorrow!
5/5 I know technology is a great advancement in our lives but why is it that every piece of technology I engage with blows up, or freezes, or otherwise laughs in my face?
5/6 My days go better when I have a plan for tackling things and start things off with my devotional time.
5/7 Walking around Ascarate Lake before PC’s ballgame, I remembered being there with Brennyn and Cady, feeding the ducks with them and I found myself missing all four of my girls an awful lot on this day before Mother’s Day.
5/8 My PC makes me laugh, sometimes when he isn’t even being funny, he is just cute that way.
5/9 State assessment testing needs a total overhaul – accountability in some form or fashion is a good thing but we have lost all sense in the state of Texas with this testing we DO to our students.
5/10 Had a third grader save my skin today and make me laugh and make me cry – thank you, Orlando.
5/11 I love to laugh…remember that song from Mary Poppins? – and have so many reasons for a good chuckle everyday.
5/12 When I am leaving to see my girls, I miss PC but when I am leaving my girls to go home to PC, I miss my girls.
5/13 Answered prayers come in all sizes and shapes.
5/14 Miss the days of shopping with my girls; wandering through Target with Lauren is such fun.
5/15 There’s no place like home.
5/16 There’s something to be said for using my planner, saved my neck a couple of times today.
5/17 Wrist hurts sooo good from holding Lucia.
5/18 Sometimes little things happen that create distrust or doubt or worry and it feels like I am all alone with no one to talk to.
5/19 Presentation at school done, check…one step closer to summer.
5/20 Productive day of house cleaning, clothes washing, drying and ironing.
5/21 And just like that, thankfully, life can flip and be right-side up again.
5/22 Then just like that, it can be upside-down again.
5/23 Wind, wind go away and don’t come back until next May!
5/24 While wearing my “May be retired but I’m a librarian for life” tee and blinking back tears, I walked the new librarian through all that I have worked on in the Guerrero library this year.
5/25 Love wearing new clothes and love taking them off for a nap.
5/26 Back to where I was at the beginning of the month, wanting to crawl under the covers and hide.
5/27 Thank goodness for popcorn, it makes all of the horrible movies out there now just a little more tolerable.
5/28 Nothing worthwhile in this life comes easy.
5/29 Some days there’s nothing better than being lazy in your own bed.
5/30 Will never forget the family I encountered this Memorial Day.
5/31 Three and a half days left of work and then this school year is a wrap!
And that’s a wrap for the month of May. It was a hard month for many of my loved ones, friends, colleagues and acquaintances. Things already felt better and brighter today, June 1. And I am glad to be starting “Sentence a Day” for June. Why don’t you join us? On July 7, we will meet up again and share our sentences. Today is the perfect day for you to start writing your sentences, too. It’s very therapeutic.
If you started “Sentence a Day” with my friends Sarah, Alison and Sheila, please link up with us here.
Question of the post: What would your sentence be for the entire month of May? Please share in a comment below and then get started recording your sentences each day for June. So, it’s a date, right? July 7. Right here. With your sentences. Grab a pencil or a keyboard and get busy!!
Hugs and kisses,

Your month sounds much like mine…the wind-down of the school year! We are almost there! Although I have to go until the 15th so I have a bit more to go…

I am glad to be out for summer. Hope this last few days flies by for you.

Thank you. I have hurt my wrist shelving books – no fun – but I would gladly hurt it all day long holding baby girl.

Oh, this is such a neat idea and how fun will it be to look back on this… I really need to start my mornings out with devotional time. All I’ve been doing lately in my prayer journal, life has been so busy with the kiddos off school! Whew! I really love that Jesus Calling book, I need to do it again… but, I’d like to buy a hard copy of it instead of reading it on my Kindle!

I hope this summer I can start EVERY SINGLE DAY with devotional time. My day truly goes better when I do. I know your days are so busy but you deserve a few quiet moments to yourself!

I love 5/28! So true and yes, popcorn makes all of the bad movies a little bit better!

I truly believe in hard work and doing your best. Sometimes I pray that things will go better, come easier but at the same time I know that all good things are worth the effort put in to realize them.
Alison @ Puppies & Pretties
I hope June is off to a better start for you Leslie!
