Howdy, gals!! Thanks for joining me for Sentence a Day 09.2023 – a monthly review of my September in one run-on sentence a day. As with most months, there were ups and downs but I spent a delightful 6 days in Tennessee visiting my sister. So enjoyed myself. Hopeful that we are going to wind up the year with 3 more pretty good months.
Sentence a Day & OGT 2023
Before we get started, I want to thank Rebecca Jo at Knit by God’s Hand for creating this month-in-review series. For each of my daily entries, you will see OGT after the date for that (looooooong) sentence. OGT = one good thing. I am following Rebecca’s good lead by including one good thing I am grateful for each day.
Also, hoping to make the What’s Been on Your Calendar? link-up with Deb at Deb’s World, Sue who blogs at Women Living Well After 50, Donna from Retirement Reflections and Jo who can be found at And Anyways. It opens on the last Friday of each month. Hoping this post will be ready to go live in time to join those gals.

1 Sec Each Day
Here’s the 1 Sec Each Day video compilation for the month. If you blink, you’ll miss it!!
And the Clothes, the Clothes
I have been purging things in my closet, trying them on first and, in some cases, wearing them before deciding whether to keep or pass along. Of all of these outfits, my favorite was probably the bottom one with the bright cardi, graphic tee and olive denim. I wore the green joggers in the first picture and felt uncomfortable the whole time. They are going into the purge pile. I love them on the hanger but not on the hips.

Your Turn
How would you rate your month? I think I would give ours an 8 overall. That’s two months that rate an 8 in a row. PC took a stressful trip to Ohio and came back with Covid; but I traveled to Tennessee and had a wonderful time. Hardly seems fair.
Thank you for coming by. Hope your week is off to a great start. I am catching up on blog reading, upping my exercise – these postmenopausal hips and stomach are getting out of hand, hoping to write and paint some, too. Find some time for you, this week!!
Hugs and kisses,
Marsha Banks
Leslie, I swear you do more in one day than I do in a month! I really need to get a schedule for cleaning my house, but I just keep putting it off. And, the house just gets dustier! I sweep all the time which probably kicks up the dust! Luckily, Mike wears very little, if anything, anymore that needs ironing. Most of my things rarely need it, either. So, I only iron right before I (or Mike) need it.
I’m so glad you have those babies to look after and be with. They are gorgeous!
Your week with your sister sounds heavenly. Did you both plan out your activities or did they just occur organically? Such fun!
What a wonderful month!

Leslie Roberts Clingan
My trip to visit baby sister was wonderful!! I want to write about it and need to hurry before I forget all of the fun and feelings. She planned some of what we did and had ideas about other possibilities. We knew we wanted to hike and scrapbook and drink wine together. And we did.
Leanne | www.crestingthehill.com.au
Hi Leslie – a very full on month with lots of ups and downs for you. Good on you for keeping up with everything despite the family health crises – but I’m glad everyone seems to be on the mend and life is looking up.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Leanne. I think October has been the best month in a long time. Looking forward to close out the year on the upswing.
Nancy
You always are so energetic! Your days are packed! My parents in law had the same worth church after going for 70 years every Sunday. They didn’t feel it anymore. Also younger priests that they had no connection with. Its just another fase in life right?
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you so much. I like to think I am energetic but this week, I was downright lazy. It would be nice to think that a church where God is worshipped would be all a person needs but the congregation and the priest or pastor can make such a difference.
Deb
Oh what a month – lots of worries but thankfully also lots of relief.
I loved that video you made of the book club choices, that looked like you enjoyed it too!
Lisa
I laughed out loud when I read your statement about your sister’s church and no Bibles! I attend a United Methodist Church and when I first came here, I was amazed that no one brought their own Bibles BUT there are pew Bibles in the back of each pew so that folks can use them.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
My sister mentioned that there were Bibles in the pews, too, but when we reached for one…it was a hymnal!! Ha. It helps me to underline and date in my Bible when I encounter a scripture in my devotional or at church. And I take notes. But maybe that speaks to the kind of learner I am??
Joanne
So glad May, PC, and Declan are all feeling better; each probably gave you a little scare I’m sure. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your sister in Tennessee!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Joanne, I had such fun with Valerie. Need to write about our adventures.
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
It is fun to catch up with you when I read these posts. We are taking Oliver our new kitty to the vet for an appt. to schedule the same things after we get back from Ireland. SO sorry that PC got Covid! I am glad you dodged it, though. Your swim time sounds relaxing.

These posts are always so much fun to read. Like a wonderfully long phone chat to catch up with a phone. Just in print. I am awed at all you can remember and record. These posts are full of so much…but I especially like your gratitude sentences. Finding and recalling the good in each day – no matter how busy or stressful it might have been. I really should be more mindful to do the same. Glad your PC is feeling better as well as sweet Dec. Here’s to a healthy month ahead…and more fun days and good memories!!
Happy October, my friend!!:)
Lysha
I love these posts of yours. I especially love the OGT for each day. I would need to do that too.
