Good morning, good evening, good night, my friends. Thanks for joining me for Sentence a Day 04.2024 – a monthly review of my April in one run-on sentence a day. ❄️ I tell ya, it’s going to snow…2 blog posts from me in one month? ❄️ Pull out those galoshes, girls. 🌨️ Grab those parkas. 🌨️ A blizzard is a-comin’!! ❄️
Sentence a Day & OGT
If I don’t blog any more than just my Sentence a Day post, I hope to at least continue to do these posts to help me keep track of LIFE. And when I do manage to get an SaD post together, I am hoping to make the What’s Been on Your Calendar? link-up with Deb at Deb’s World, Sue who blogs at Women Living Well After 50, Donna from Retirement Reflections and Jo who can be found at And Anyways, which opens on the last Friday of each month. We’ll see how things go.
You might remember – or not – that I started sharing OGT – one good thing at the end of each of my run-on sentences. I also use a gratitude journal at night and am in the market for a new one. If you have one you love, please share in a comment below. I will never forget that sweet Carrie at Curly Crafty Mom sent me my first gratitude journal after I read about hers on her blog. I’ve been ending my days with a gratitude journal ever since. Thank you, Carrie.

1 Sec Each Day
Here is a quick video clip of much of what has happened since my last SaD post in January. Lots of blessings.
2024 Word of the Year (WOTY)
Been away from this so long that I didn’t remember having selected a WOTY!! So, clearly I haven’t put much thought into lighten life since I had forgotten all about it!! Discovered that I had written this in Janaury.
I know what I hope to achieve with my word of the year but have had trouble finding exactly the right one word to describe it. Going to go with ‘lighten’ as I like that I can apply the act of lightening to a number of areas of my life. But most of all, learning to let it go, let it go and lighten up. To let go and let God. Look for the light at the end of the tunnel. Lighten my load. Nothing terribly profound.
Selecting the word consistent for 2023 did help me attempt to keep to a routine. Until LIFE stepped in and kicked it to the curb. But I began prioritizing some of the things I wanted to do over the things I thought I needed to do but could set aside for a day or two.
Thinking of this word ‘lighten’ as an extension to being consistent. And as I shared above, I had a kind of wake up call or attitude adjustment in March when I visited Brennyn. That feeling has continued into April and beyond, I hope. We will see what May brings.
Your Turn
How would you rate your fourth month of 2024? I think I would give ours an 8 overall. If we could just resolve this health thing with PC once and for all, I think life would really lighten up!! See what I did there?
We have writing tonight and I am glad to be with the sweet members of that group. I start a new Rover job Wednesday and PC is off on Friday so we will enjoy a 3-day weekend together. Might even go hiking as there is no baseball on Saturday. Hope you have some fun, too!
Thank you for coming by.
Hugs and kisses,

Well! That was a month’s worth of blog posts all rolled into one big one! It looks like you’ve been really busy and getting lots done in your world (including a little back-to-work action. Hope you’re keeping well and managing all that activity without getting too drained or tired. x
Thank you, sweet friend. I was glad to have all last week off from subbing. Needed to recuperate from 6 days of work. But next week, I start back in again. Oh, well, summer vacation is in sight.
Always enjoy reading your sentences! Sounds like lots of good things going on in your life.
Thank you!! Yes, I feel like finally we are getting a breather from the crazy that has been our life for months now.
It sounds like you had a really good birthday month! I hope Paul gets his health under control too; it’s hard when you don’t feel your best and no one seems to be able to pinpoint exactly what is wrong and what will fix it. We started watching Resident Alien too; I was surprised that I mostly liked it since it’s definitely not my usual genre. I think it helped that there was a lot of humor in it.
Oh, I did have a good birthday month, and the goodness is continuing into May, hallelujah. Hoping for answers to PC’s health questions when we go to the doctor in a few weeks. And then I can breathe a sigh of relief and get on with life.
Honestly, Leslie! You accomplish more in a day than I do in a month! I do hope you get some answers/results for PC. That not knowing is terrible. I love reading your OGTs…they are the perfect summation of your day. I keep thinking about subbing, but I just don’t want to commit to it. You’d think I could make up my mind after being retired for almost 12 years (can you even believe that)!
I hope your May is wonderful!
https://marshainthemiddle.com/
Thank you, sweet, sweet you, for the kind words. I am going to renew my sub application again for next year until we see how we make out with PC retiring. That way I have the option to sub if I want or need to. It does make me a little anxious until I get the paycheck and then I am glad I did it. You are a very busy blogger and your blog has grown and your following has expanded. You probably have plenty to do just keeping up with all of that!!
Hope we both have terrific Mays!!
Happy belated birthday! You were busy in April but it sounds like so many fun things! The eclipse was pretty cool, wasn’t it?
Jill – Doused in Pink
Wasn’t the eclipse amazing? I feel guilty for originally thinking it was hust a bunch of hype for nothing. So glad my daughter got us glasses so we could enjoy it. Thank you for the birthday wishes and for coming by to visit.
You had another busy month! I do hope that the health issues in your family are resolved next time we have a monthly update. I think 8 out of 10 is a pretty good score!
April was a pretty good month. Looking forward to even better this month. Hope Coco has recovered from Daisy’s visit.
Happy Belated Birthday..
So much happened. The boys and I all keep a line a day journals, this way we can look back at what happened on this day in previous years.
