Happy May Day, friends!
Tonight I am linking up again with Becky at Choose Happy and reflecting on what has been happening in my life currently. April was a crazy, busy month full of lots of family time with my daughters and granddaughters but in-between trips, I was also busy with work and preparing for and presenting at the Texas Library Association annual conference.
So here are some pictures from what’s been going on in my life…currently.
We have just discovered the charm of SnapChat filters.
Yup, we are having waaaay too much fun and spending waaaay too much time doing this. But I’ll tell you one thing, when I see my picture on the far right using the SnapChat filters, I feel much more confident about the way I look naturally. I am just getting the hang of this SnapChat app. Do you use it?
My PC and I tried out a new restaurant today before church. Crave Kitchen.
I have wanted to go there for two or more years but somehow we get stuck in the comfortableness of a restaurant rut and just go to the same places over and over and over. When PC and I met, his family’s go-to restaurant was Red Lobster and the girls and I loved Olive Garden and Casita Linda’s. When we are watching our weight and trying to eat better, it can be scary to try some place new, not knowing what is on their menu. But Crave was delicious and healthy, if you don’t eat the fried chicken and waffles or all of your sweet potato pancakes! See what you think.
I could probably fix all of this myself at home but it just tastes so good to eat it out – on the patio, near the fire pit, in the sunshine.
Just finished up a month-long Instagram Snoop Series created by my friend Deena at Shoes to Shiraz. Here are the photo prompts we were given for the month.
I loved doing this. And I kept up with it all month in spite of being gone so much. You can find this series of pictures on my Instagram account or online at https://www.instagram.com/onceuponatimehappilyeverafter/. Here are a few of my favorite photos from this challenge.
While I was in Houston, we took in an Astros-Red Sox game. The stadium is downtown and very nice. We just don’t have a very big downtown in El Paso so for much of the game, I was distracted watching the sun set behind the skyscrapers and the lights come on in the stadium. Easily entertained I am.
That baseball game watching gang are my PC beside me, my brother Kevin behind PC, my sister Valerie and her husband Roby in the blue plaid. Valerie, Kevin and I lived in Boston but Kevin was the only Red Sox fan in our party. I have lived in Texas so long, I can’t cheer against a Texas team!!
And I was recently recognized on School Librarians’ Day at the school where I am subbing.
This job has been the answer to prayers. I have been so happy being back in a library with books and babies. I have worked for the best administrator I have ever met. And I will miss being at Guerrero Elementary School. The faculty and staff treated me to lunch, doughnuts for breakfast, gift cards, flowers and children-made drawings. Queen for a day!
So there you have it, some of the highlights of my life currently. Crazy busy month and we are already off and this month running the second day of May! What are you up to currently? Would love to hear all about it! Leave me a comment and a hug below.
Hugs and kisses,
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
What is your name on SnapChat? Omg, I am so hooked lately! Look for me, I am @curlycraftymom, there is even a video of me running on the treadmill right now. I really don’t know what I was thinking SnapChatting and running on the dreadmill, good thing I didn’t fall off! haha! An outside restaurant with a fire pit? It looks charming! I used to an IG challenge every month, but haven’t in over a year… maybe longer. I think I just got burned out. I should try again sometime…

At the urging of my daughter I joined snapchat over the weekend. Those filters are so funny! There is nothing better than dining outside next to a fire pit! That restaurant looks amazing! Congratulations on being recognized at work!

Of everything it makes me most happy to hear how well you have been treated at your school. I know you love being in the library with books + kiddos. So glad you have been blessed in that way.
