Hey, Girlsies!
I have been so busy blogging about everything else, I have neglected to post about what I have been wearing and where I got it. So, this is going to be a quickie, quick-quick look at my favorite outfit for this week.
My inspiration for this OOTD came from four places. The idea for the whole look was pinspired by a pin on Pinterest. The two influences for my top were from my Style Me Blogger sisters Lana at Two Teens and Their Mama and Casey at A Little Bit of Cheer. And my BFF Sharon was my influence for the jeans I wore.
Here is the look I saw on Pinterest.
So simple, such casual elegance. Even with the worn-out, I mean distressed, distressed legs on the jeans, this gal still looks put put-together and pretty, and pretty put-together.
I first saw a similar top to the one above on Lana’s blog. She featured this little eyelet number from Old Navy during one of our spring challenge Style Me Bloggers link-ups.

When I was in Houston in April, Lauren and I found the same top at her Old Navy there. They had the tee in navy and white; I bought the white but now I wish I had the navy, too. It has been one of my favorite pieces this spring! I can change my look depending on what color tank I pair the tee with. And changing up accessories – adding a scarf, a statement necklace or both can take this top to a new level.
(Wearing no tank underneath would be something else altogether!!)
It washes easily, I set it out on my rack to dry and it doesn’t have to be ironed. You can buy one, too, on sale, here or similar, here.
This past week, I came across this picture from Casey’s blog where she styled a lace top with chinos.

Casey’s lace top is from Loft Outlet (another reason I need to make an Outlet run). She found similar tops to hers available here at Nordstrom’s and at Macy’s here. Both of those options are sleeveless so could be paired with a cardi for chilly AC days or summer evenings. And the Macy’s top is high-low, on sale, and comes in a rainbow of colors and is on sale for $19.99 right now.
I may never get this post posted because I keep coming across more lovely options for an eyelet top. I keep adding them to this post so I can remember where to find them! Indulge me this last one, and I will move on. One of the Summer 2015 challengers shared a picture of her eyelet top from Anthropologie. Loved it and had to check it out for myself and share with you.

Moving right along…
My BFF Sharon introduced me to the relaxed skinny jeans, when she sent me a picture of her new pair. I fell in love. She always looks sensational, no matter what she wears, but I thought she really rocked the relaxed skinny jeans.
I ran, not walked, to my Loft to buy a pair only to discover they didn’t carry them here. At least not in the darker blue wash like Sharon’s. But Loft has just started a new policy where you can order from the store, have the item sent to your home without shipping charges. I jumped right on that. Ordered an 8. Sharon and I both bought the desert willow wash (what else for a gal who lives in the desert?)

versus the lighter blues of Sand Dune and Barbados. (Who thinks of the names for these colors? Wouldn’t that be a fun job?)
Got home and had a message from Sharon that she was sending me her pair because they were a little too relaxed for her liking after she had them on for awhile. She decided to go down a size.
While I waited for the pair I ordered to arrive, the pair that Sharon sent came in the mail. These are her size 6 jeans, not a whole lot of relaxed on me. But getting toned up enough for these to be relaxed can be a new goal for June, July, August…
Ok, so like I said, moving right along…
Here is the outfit I put together the first time I wore my white eyelet top. I didn’t have my relaxed skinnies yet so just wore a pair of curvy skinnies.
Anyone else remember the days when we just had jeans? Maybe JCP plain pocket jeans or Levis but basically, just jeans?
Eyelet top, Old Navy; mint tank, Loft; statement necklace, Kohl’s; curvy skinnies, Loft; hand-me-down (hand-me-up since I am older and taller than she is?), peep-toes, Lauren’s (my daughter) closet (remember when we just wore shoes?).
And now, for the great unveiling. The Pinterest-inspired Pinspiration look that I have been trying to get to since yesterday when I started writing this ‘quick-quick’, lil ole post.
Can ya tell I liked this outfit a little? Ha! Nothing egotistical or self-centered going on here! No, sir!
Funny story and then I will quit, I promise.
Later in the day that I wore this outfit, I met up with PC at Lowe’s to look at microwaves. I walked into the store whistling. I love to whistle. I heard someone whistling behind me, even whistling the same song…Bach’s Concerto for 2 Violins in A minor. I guess in this case it was Concerto for 2 Whistlers in A minor.
Really, just Let it Go from the movie Frozen.
The whistling got closer and then I realized the whistler was walking hurriedly behind me as if trying to catch up to me.
As I rounded the corner between the cleaning products and the washer-dryer combos, a youngish man (which for me could be anything below 57) in his late twenties, saddled up beside me. He said, “I think you are very good looking.”(And he said this after only seeing me from behind!!!!)
He continued, “I wondered if you would like to go out with me sometime, maybe for drinks or something?” (Now he is seeing my face and probably wishing the floor would swallow him up but he didn’t falter for a second!!!)
Long story short…we left Paul at Lowe’s had shared a wine cooler outside in his VW Beetle.
NOT!
I gently broke the news to him that I was married and looking for my husband (not in a Match.com way) right there in Lowe’s. But thanked him for his compliments.
Isn’t that INSANE?
I am sure this guy was set up by friends or some video show to approach me, but hey, it made my day. And when I told PC, he was a little surprised but acted appropriately jealous, right on cue.
And I felt pretty. Like a 57 year old princess.
So pretty that I wrote this review for the relaxed skinny desert willow wash jeans for Loft. I think you’ll like them, too.
Hugs and kisses,
Jill
Your eyelet top is so pretty! You nailed this look!

Thank you. I can’t get over my hubby liking it so much. He saw the pictures and said “That’s THE OUTFIT, right?” I need to wear it more often.

Hahaha! Love the story and how flattering! I love when stuff like that happens to make my day. I need to do some Pin-insired looks. This one is great!

I am going to try to do more Pinspiration styles because they help keep me out of the rut of wearing the same ole same ole. It had been a long time since someone “hit” on me… L O N G time. That’s why I kept looking for the cameras or a group of snickering guy friends of the poor guy that asked me out! But it sure did make my day.

Lowe’s must be the place where guys feel secure to hit on strange women…I’ve had guys approach me there too…maybe it has something to do with a woman surrounded by all of those manly supplies…they get a case of testosterone bravery…lol! Love the outfit. Those jeans are perfect for you!

Thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving a comment! Yay, YOU! I guess whenever I need a boost to my self-esteem, I need to cruise the aisles at Lowe’s or maybe branch out and try Home Depot? I don’t care one bit about someone hitting on me, or the nice things he said, but I was touched by the little twinge of jealousy from my hubby, Paul (Clingan), or PC or Prince Charming. He has mentioned THE OUTFIT several times since! Need to get those jeans back in the rotation this week. Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by. Please come back!

Leslie, your outfit is perfect! Love that top and the Loft jeans. I have the relaxed skinnies that have little stones on the hip bones. I got a 6 and usually wear 8s and they work great.

Thank you, sweet new friend. Love the name of your blog. Will stop by for a visit. I bet your skinnies with the stones are adorable. Would love to see a pic. Did you buy them recently? I haven’t worn my sixes out in the world yet…do they stretch, I HOPE!! Thank you for stopping by and for leaving a comment. Please come back again.
