Hey Dolls!
Aren’t you glad it’s Friday? We are at my house. PC‘s birthday is tomorrow but we started the festivities tonight with homemade chicken cordon bleu, noodles and homemade bread, followed by birthday cake. Then we enjoyed a soak in the hot tub before coming up to bed. We are looking forward to an entire, fun-filled weekend.
In this blog post, I am sharing a Pin-spired look that I had a little extra fun playing with. I had pinned this oufit awhile back on Pinterest and then kinda forgot about it. Sadly, I pin a lot of great things that I later forget about. Bummer! I stumbled across it last night when I was looking for Pinspiration and decided to recreate it to wear to art class today.
Last night I played on Polyvore and put all the pieces of my Pin-spired outfit together for a trial run. Playing on Polyvore reminds me of playing with Betsy McCall paper dolls when I was a little girl. Are any of you guys old enough to remember Betsy McCall or paper dolls?
Strange how my 56 year-old-memory works. I can’t remember what I did yesterday but I can remember waiting for my mom’s McCalls magazine to come in the mail each month and gently cutting out Betsy and her OOTDs from its pages.
Now what was I saying?
Oh, yeah…Polyvore. I was playing with Polyvore last night. And here is my Polyvore, paper-doll version of my Pinterest outfit that would Pin-spire the outfit I wore to painting today. That’s a lot of Ps.
One of the best things about the Style Me Challenges I have done in the past is having so many great, basic pieces to put together in a plethora of pretty pairings. By golly, I like that word! Plethora. Say it with me…pleh-thor-uh. Or is it pleth-or-uh? Whatever the case, don’t you love the way it rolls off the tongue?
Here’s my plethora of pretty pieces for this Pinspiration.
Let’s see if I can remember where I purchased all of these pieces…
- Burnt orange or persimmon (if you will) boyfriend cardi from Loft
- Merona navy, gingham popover from Target
- Curvy, skinny jeans from Loft
- Leopard flats from Target
- Pleather brown belt from Target
- Crystal necklace from Charming Charlie’s
Looking at this picture a little more closely, it almost appears that I have a diaper on (or something else that begins with P) under my jeans. Not sure what is going on there at the top of my legs, in the crotchal area, as Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To so delicately refers to that part of the anatomy.
And to think I was so proud to wear my popover tucked into my pants.
Pitiful.
And if that last photo wasn’t enough to put you off, here is another little picture of me posing with my putty-tats.
That’s Purrsnickitty on the left and Purrsimmony on the right.
Last but not least, my Pin-spired, Pinspiration as seen at painting class.
Huh.
From this perspective my face looks positively pudgy. If I didn’t know better, I would think I have a goiter presenting on my neck. Ha. And I thought I looked pretty. Guess that’s what I get for presuming. Preposterous.
Hugs and Eskimo kisses,
Sharon
Silly girl! You are pretty and love your outfit! I wouldn’t have noticed the crotch until you mentioned it! 🙂 XO

Funny that when I am getting dressed, when I look in the mirror, and even when I take the pictures I don’t notice that things are out of whack! Not until I share them here do I see that my hair is standing up, or my necklace is caught on a button, etc. But that’s just me, I guess. Hope you have a great Saturday. Will email you tonight. XO

Hey there, Karen! Thank you for your kind words. I really liked this outfit and will make it a regular in the rotation. But with all the good basic pieces we have from the challenges, my rotation has expanded. My kitty babies are sweet hearts. Love your pup, too!

MUAH, Sheila! Consider yourself kissed! Thank you. Sheila, Alison says she is going to do the Rediscover Me 28 Day Challenge in a few months. Just FYI. I will blog about my experiences with this first go-round tomorrow. Have a great day.

Thank you, girlfriend! Alison says she is going to do the Rediscover Me 28 Day Challenge in a few months. Just FYI. I will blog about my experiences with this first go-round tomorrow. I know you have recreated some of your grandmother’s expressions and sayings on canvas. Maybe you could share a post about how to do that? I would be super interested to learn. XO, Deena
