Ciao, Fashion Friends! Ciao!
Spelled it right this time. Ciao, that is.
But it doesn’t look right.
I know it is Italian but still…I like my creative spelling better…Chao!
This gal has been too busy for her own liking.
I will have worked three days this week and volunteered half of both of the other two days.
Come pay day, I am going to be a happy camper but my feet are tired! Not complaining, though, because I am looking forward to a mani-pedi, and maybe revisiting that cute duster at Loft Outlet.
I won’t keep you but just wanted to share a shirt dress look that I wore to sub at Crosby elementary yesterday. Thank you, Rosa, for inviting me back to your library. We have been having very humid days during this, our “monsoon” season in far west Texas. The evaporative cooling at Crosby was not. Not evaporating nor cooling. So it was sticky but this dress was a good choice for the day. The roll tab sleeves helped to keep me cooler and the light-weight fabric was a blessing.
I found the dress on the clearance rack at our Tommy Hilfiger Outlet store, (exact, similar). It has a small, white polka dot print and the TH logo embroidered in white stitching. The dress was reduced 70%, originally around $69.00 but on sale for $21.00. I had a little coupon for 15% off and wound up paying a little more than $17.00.
Yeee haw!
I paired it with my Cavenders Corral Circle G Women’s boots (exact). And I felt like a put together cowgirl!
Once I got the floor fans on and the doors open, I had a nice cross breeze going, making it very pleasant in the library.
I was ready to get my giddy up.
My dress was so comfy, I didn’t even change when I got home. Did kick off my boots, though.
I am seeing a lot of shirt dresses being shown for fall on Pinterest and in the stores where I shop (can you say Loft Outlet?). I just received the shopping list for the Get Your Pretty On Fall Style 2015 Challenge and Alison suggests a print shirt dress as one of the essential fall pieces.
Here is the plaid shirt dress she featured on her blog.

Love those little fringe booties. I think they would look pretty cute with my shirt dress, too. And Alison’s accessories are always spot on, the cross-body bag, statement watch and long necklace.
But I think the accessory I “wore” with my shirt dress is pretty special, too.
Whatcha think?
Isn’t that a cute cross?
It was a special (but unnecessary) “thank you” from my friend Martha after I volunteered in her library last week. I should have found a way to wear it as a statement necklace around my neck! I love the statement it makes.
Thank YOU, Martha.
Have you spotted shirt dresses on blogs you follow, Pinterest, or in stores (Loft Outlet) near you? I think I can pair my dress with a cardigan and tights and wear it on into fall. And I got this little cutie in my email today. Thought I’d share.
And Loft is having a FLASH sale.

I bought this denim swing shirt dress before it went on sale (exact). Fool me once, shame on you, Loft. Fool me twice, shame on me. I should have known it would go on sale. And it is. Now $69.88 with 40% taken off right now for the sale, making it around $40.00. The fabric is pretty, has a little sheen to it. Runs big so you can wear a smaller size, girls! Gotta love that Loft. Better than Weight Watchers.
If you have a shirt dress look you would like to share, please let me know.
I am linking up with the gals, Carrie and Jill, for Thursday Fashion Files.
Please stop by their blogs to see what they are styling for today.
PC is home, Papa John’s cooked dinner and we are ready for some football.
Here we go!
Hugs and kisses,
Sharon
Love the shirt dress on you friend! You would fit right in around OKC with that outfit and boots! I thought I warned you about Loft.
They run sales a lot so you never have to pay full price if you wait. 🙂

My trouble is our Loft runs out of stuff so quickly and then I can’t try it on. So I feel pushed to buy something the minute I see it because it won’t be in the store the next time I go. But you are right, they have sales on everything!

What a perfect gift for you since you love crosses so much. I really want that plaid shirt dress! I think those fringe booties would look cute with your dress, too!

Thank you! I forget where the plaid dress is from that Alison featured. I saw a cute one at Target but the fabric was thin and kind of cheap. Will keep looking. In the meantime, I am going to pair my denim shirt dress with a plaid scarf, and be on the look out for affordable fringe booties.

I love the way shirt dresses look on you, yours is super cute. But I always feel like they are so big on me…need to find the perfect one! I tried one at H&M the other day that, but I have a big butt and I cannot lie…hehe, suffice to say it didn’t fit 🙂 I love the loft and the outlet, pick me up something!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hehe! You and your cute behind! I need to try H&M for a plaid shirt dress. Still on the look out for one. Let me know if you find one.

I LOVE your style. You are so Texas! It’s awesome. 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank YOU!! So funny! I never have thought of myself as Texan – born in NY, lived in Massachusetts and Tennessee. But have been in Texas much of my adult life so guess I am Texan. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

I love wearing shirt dresses – and this one is so pretty on you. I would love to find a plaid one for the Style challenge, but no luck so far. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I think we are all on the look out for a plaid shirt dress. Let me know what you come up with if you find one!
Stacey
Your shirt dress and boots combo is perfect! I always love this look. I can picture that with a big wide leather belt, tights, and riding boots too.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am kind of excited to break out the riding boots and tights! Thanks for stopping by with some great ideas!
Jill
That shirt dress is darling with the boots! What a great find! You look fabulous!

Shaunacey
you look great in a shirt dress!! Good call on the chambray option, I hadn’t even thought of that
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! Til I find the right plaid dress, I think I will do denim or chambray with a plaid scarf. We need to keep each other posted if we find that elusive plaid dress.

You can’t go wrong with a basic chambray dress and cowgirl boots! Thanks for linking-up with Carrie, Casey and me!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
My pleasure! Thank you for coming by. This shirt dress received such good reviews that I wore another one today!
