Fashionistas, so glad you are here!
This is going to be a quickie. Not that kind of quickie, but a super speedy post. Just enough time to show off the rewards of shopping my closet today.
I mentioned my friend Lisa’s “What to Wear” challenge on her blog Daily Style Finds a couple of weeks ago. I signed up to participate but then it dawned on me that I hadn’t received anything about the challenge in my email. Well, it didn’t really dawn on me, someone asked me about the challenge and a light bulb went on. It turns out that I missed the first email or two, probably because I am a space cadet, – aww, cadet nothing, I am the four-star general.
Anyway, long story-short, I am a little late to the party, but I have arrived!!
One of the pieces on the 15 Wardrobe Essential Items list was a pink or blush cardigan. Actually the piece Lisa featured was a brighter pink. In fact, I just happen to have a similar pic right here.
Lisa also provided links to a whole host of other heavenly options, which were both bright pink and a softy pink. I ooo-ed and ahhh-ed over all of the choices but really liked two longish blush cardis she featured from Nordies. I am, however, not a Nordies shopper because I generally can’t afford to be.
Coveting one of those sweaters from Nordstrom has been all I could think about. Sadly true. I was waiting til payday to try to get one. Then something amazing happened.
The fog that is my brain activity cleared momentarily.
And I had a fleeting memory of a blush cardi I bought two years ago.
Here it is as styled late last winter.
So last night, I dug D E E P into the inner recesses of my closet and BAM!
Found it.
To be perfectly honest, it wasn’t buried at the back behind loads of clothes.
It was right up front. I had just forgotten about it.
Here’s how I wore it today.
A little more femininely.
But now that I have seen my blush cardi with my camos again, I kinda like that, too.
Need to wear that before it gets too warm for my faux Uggs.
Here’s the rundown on my little ensemble, the focal point is my little blush Mossimo cardigan from Target (exact, similar, similar -on sale!), white, long-sleeved tee from Loft (similar, similar), Wit and Wisdom dark wash jeans, (exact, similar), black Mix No. 6 flats from DSW (similar, similar). My necklace came in a StitchFix box I received a year or so ago. I kinda like it and need to wear it more often, (similar, similar).
Thank you, Lisa, because I felt feminine all day. I didn’t even take my outfit off when I got home from a day of doctors appointments. And PC complimented me when he got home for work. So I took advantage of that and asked him to please take a few pics for me.
I love the way Purrsnickitty is looking at her mama.
And that’s my story of the blush cardigan. Tomorrow I am going to scour my closet for a black, faux leather Moto jacket that I know I have never bought but wish I would find hidden in the depths. It is dark in there and apparently my memory isn’t what it used to be.
Maybe I will get lucky again?
Twice in one week?
Adieu!
Hugs and kisses,
Morgan
You look great Leslie! Hope all is well!

Thank you, Morgan! Spring is always a trying time in our family for some reason and we are holding fast to that rule as spring arrives in 2016. But we will come out on top! Can’t believe how big Hudson is. Looking forward to shopping the KEEP catalog. XO
Lana
There just might be a leather jacket in there if you look hard enough. Love you in this color :)!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I did revisit a blue pleather jacket but decided I need, need, need black. Thank you, Amazon!

That’s a great colour combo on you!! Love it.

Thank you. I felt like a lady! Ha. Kind of like putting a pig on lipstick…no, that’s not right.

Regrettably, I do not own any pink sweaters. I find that hard to believe because pink is one of my favorite colors! I recently declutterd a pink cashmere Ann Taylor sweater (handed down to me), because unfortunately it was too small and hope as I might, I won’t ever get small enough for it. Sigh. Hopefully, someone else will think of it as a great score! Fun to see you shopping your closet! Sheila DelCharco My blog: Making the Most of Every Day

I remember the purge of your pink Ann Taylor cashmere. I drooled over the picture. I am sure someone is enjoying wearing it and thankful for your generosity. Girl, go get you some pink~

You look so pretty in pink – and what a great find in the back of your closet. I love it when I find those things I have forgotten about. Can’t wait to see how you style the moto jacket.

My moto has arrived. I am almost scared to open it! What if it looks weird on me or all of the ways I imagined wearing it just don’t work?? I wish you could hold my hand while I try it on. Maybe if I channel my inner-Lisa, I will have the confidence I need. Thank you for your great inspiration!

That blush cardi is gorgeous on you and that necklaces goes perfectly with it! I have a blush vest that is on its way to my house and I can’t wait to style it!

Have you styled the blush vest yet? Can’t wait to see. I felt girly and pretty in pink. Guess there really is something to that expression ‘pretty in pink’. Thank you for your sweet compliments.

You always make me laugh! Love your outfit! I was putting away my bright coral 3/4 sleeve lightweight cardi this morning at the hotel and it sure would look good on you with those camos! I’ll check ON when I get home to see if they have them again for spring! No sunshine at all! 🙁 The funniest thing is hearing I shot the sheriff played over and over! Must me popular here!😊
Leslie Roberts Clingan
So sorry your Jamaican vacay was so gray. But at least you had time to read and relax. Bright coral would work great with the camos. I have a kind of coral boyfriend cardi that I could try with them. Thanks for making me laugh at the idea of I Shot the Sheriff playing at your resort. Of all the songs!!! There isn’t even a new version is there? Goodness.
Jill
Glad you found that cardi in your closet! The blush pink is so pretty on you! That necklace is fab! Love this look!

Thank you, friend. Are you still ankle deep in snow? Thought of you this weekend as we enjoyed 80 degree afternoons.
Mary
You look adorable, Leslie! I have terrible bunions and would love to wear cute flats like that…….
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Bless your heart, what’s the “cure” for bunions? I have something wrong on one big toe – across the top of my foot – and have ignored it for several years in order to wear shoes I love but have decided I prefer walking pain-free these days. Thank you for coming by, Mary!
Shaunacey
ohhh this just reminded me that I have a pretty pink cardigan in my closet JUST as I was told to wear pink to Nicole’s funeral on Sunday. Fate.
Thank you, for being so sweet always but especially this week. Please know how much I have appreciated your support.

Oh, Shaunacey, I know today has been hard for you, sweet baby. My heart hurts knowing the pain you are feeling. But I am sure Nicole’s service was a beautiful tribute to her life and her long, hard fight. Thinking of you with lots of love.
