Hi Girls,
Gonna just put it out there, I am grumpy this evening.
Home from being out of town for almost two weeks and I feel discombobulated.
I have lots of blog posts I want to write but have house work, school work, yard work all fighting for my attention…along with laundry, ironing and grocery shopping. I need to get back on track eating better and get this booty back in the gym.
I almost put together the outfit for this week’s The Blended Blog Style Perspectives prompt (plaid) before I left for my trip but ran out of time. So tonight, after working all day and running 2.5 miles at the gym, I came home and threw on my plaid. Nothing fit right; my “girls” look like a droopy shelf sticking out from below my chin and I felt like ground pork stuffed into a denim skirt sausage casing.
So let’s get this over with and then I am going up to bed!
Looks kinda ok when it isn’t on me!
Ralph Lauren plaid blouse, Style & Co. denim skirt from Macy’s, mustard long cami from Jane.com, Loft cardi, American Eagle flats from Payless, Miche bag, gifted (from BFF Sharon) turquoise pendant.
Should have just stopped there.
But no, I had to try on the outfit.
Glutton for punishment.
I knew I was having a ‘chubby’ day.
I knew I had just returned from ten days away from home, not eating, sleeping or working out well.
What was I thinking?
I even decided to beg PC to take pics for me, and outside, no less, in 45 mph wind gusts.
I had to hold my shirt tail down to keep it from blowing up over my head.
I reminded him to try to focus the camera which isn’t always a guarantee when I have to coerce him to play photog but now that I think about it, I probably should have gone with REAL blurry for today’s pics.
For some reason, I thought standing by our rock wall might make me look younger, thinner, and happier.
Yeah, not so much.
Look at my poor hands balled up into fists, ha!
I am grumpy.
And how ’bout that pretty hair?
It’s just not fair that some (young, thin, long-haired) women can look so perfect when their hair is gently tousled by a breeze.
So, there you have it, my mad in plaid look.
Hope you will link-up with us by clicking below or uploading a pic of yourself in plaid to Facebook or Instagram then tagging it with #TheBlendedBlogStyle.

Oh Leslie, you’re too hard on yourself, sweet lady! I think you look fantastic and lovely. The colors of your plaid shirt are perfect for spring, and I love the shoes. Hope you’re having a better day today!

I get overwhelmed easy too after I get back from being out of town! Just so much to do and get caught up on… but, you’ll get there. Baby steps! I think the first photo is my favorite and these colors look beautiful on you- love that necklace with the plaid shirt! The cardi and shoes go great and really pop against the shirt!

I actually really like both versions of your outfit! Both in the flat lays and on you!!! And I had to laugh at your fists! I so often do that when I am not happy about something when we take photos… I think I do a mental rundown about how awful the photos are going to look, but at the same time I do my best to smile. But my hands often give away what’s going on… 🙂 And I totally understand the feeling when something just doesn’t fit quite right. I wore a blouse that was just a tiny bit too tight the other day, and it affected my entire day…

You are hilarious! I love this look and it looks great on you! Those colors are great!
LISA
You put together two great looks. I hear you about grumpy days – I am glad I am not the only one. And, knowing how sweet you are – and that you have grumpy days – makes me feel a little better about myself. I hope you week is looking up and you are catching up on everything.

I love those colors on you! So great! And I think you’re perfect! Don’t be grumpy, think of a bunny…just cause they’re cute 🙂
Carrie
Both of these looks are really you, Leslie! Even though you aren’t happy with how you look, you look great in these outfits. Hope you get on back on schedule…btw – you don’t look grumpy!
Valerie
I think you look marvelous. Next time you are grumpy and not liking yourself, have PC take your picture from your balcony. You will look very small. We did not eat that poorly while you were here and as a matter of fact, I did not gain any weight (or lose, but did not expect that) while you were here. I am just really into eating right now and need to pul the reigns and slow this eating down. Thanks for the giggle when reading the post. Hope today was brighter in your world and maybe only 30 mph winds. Love you little big sister.
Abbie
Oh lovely lady. Hugs and hopes for a better day! You are so gorgeous and this look is so bright and fun. I love it!

You look great in these two outfits! I think you are just being hard on yourself (like we all are sometimes). And I’m sorry you were in a grump mood. I hope today was better!

Leslie!!! I hope you wake up feeling better… HUGS!! I totally love this whole look!! I want it!! 🙂 And don’t call in sick next week…leggings is my prompt!! LOL
Laura
We all have those days! But you are too hard on yourself! I love the bright colors in your plaid! And I have to say, the rock wall photo is my favorite! I was born in El Paso and had a very similar rock wall in our backyard I used to climb all the time. It brings back memories!
Alison @ Puppies & Pretties
Awe, you look cute Leslie! I love how all those colors come together so well.
