If you wear glasses, how do you feel about them? Are they a necessary evil – just a combination of plastic, metal and glass that improves your vision – and nothing more? That pretty much sums up how I feel about mine. Of course they ARE trifocals. Not a lot to like about trifocals. It seems that if I move my head even the slightest bit everything shifts from being in focus to being terribly out of focus. I bought some purple (Paul’s favorite color) metallic frames to try to make wearing trifocals a little more fun. Didn’t work. Picked purple because I thought Paul might like them better. Not so much. So I wear them only when I drive because TX DOT says I have to. And then as fast as I put the car in park, I yank my glasses off and hide them away in my glasses case.
It is time for my annual eye exam – in fact, I am overdue. I cancelled my opthamalic appointment on Halloween cause I just didn’t want to go.
But maybe now I have a good reason for having done so because a week ago, I was introduced to a new line of eyeglass frames, in particular a new collection of frames that was just released YESTERDAY! And now I am not only eager to reschedule my appointment, I am even hopeful that my vision will have changed! That way I can justify getting a new pair of glasses.
A pair of Warby Parker glasses.
From the Concentric Collection.
Check them out.
The frames in the Concentric Collection are not your grandma’s spectacles.
They are like art for your eyes. Quietly fun. Contemporary. Fashionable.
I discovered Warby Parker while working on posts for my blog. I was invited to a virtual sneak preview of the Concentric Collection. When I viewed the frames, I was impressed. Warby Parker has created eye wear that reads more like an accessory than a necessity.
And so I began playing with Polyvore and creating outfits around some of the great Concentric Collection frames.
Isn’t the wood grain unique? In the fashion challenges we are all about wearing statement jewelry. How ’bout these for some fabulous statement frames? They add the final touch to this western outfit.
And how about this combination. Those of you who know me know how much I love snow. Something about these frames reminds me of an frosty winter evening. I think they would be the perfect complement to this casual chambray shirt, cable knit sweater and faux fur scarf.
I am pretty sure that you are as impressed as I am with these stylish frames, right? But there’s more to Warby Parker than great glasses. For every pair of glasses sold, Warby Parker makes a donation to their non-profit partner organizations (such as VisionSpring – click to learn more) to help train people in developing countries to give eye exams and prescribe affordable glasses to others in their own communities.
At Warby Parker they like to say “Buy a pair, Give a Pair“.
So not only do these glasses look good on the outside but they can make you feel good on the inside. Win-win.
Tomorrow I will be calling Visionland to make my annual eye exam appointment. If I am lucky, my vision will have changed and I will soon be sporting my own pair of frames from the Concentric Collection. Personally, I think the icy blue-gray frames would make my blue eyes POP!
Hugs and sticky kisses,
Sharon
Hey friend! Have you ever thought about wearing contacts? I hate glasses so I have mono vision prescription which means my right contact is for reading and my Left contact is for distance but together your brain just works to see better! Took a few times to get it just right but I love them. You might want to check into that also.

I need to think about that mono prescription contact business. I am not sure I could stick them in my eyes, though. But my glasses drive me nuts.

Hi Leslie, I wear contacts and glasses. (Well, not at the same time!) I have progressive lenses and I find they are really easy to see out of no matter which way I look. Good Luck!

You made me laugh! Glad you don’t have to wear contacts AND glasses together!! I think my lenses were not ground correctly or something. They are progressive, also but they seem so strong. And the progression seems abrupt and not subtle. I have a feeling the prescription is not right. Going to have them check my glasses when I go for my check up.

As you know, I often wear glasses mearly as a headband. What marvelous headbands these would be and with a low power reading feature, I could even boost my reading site. Keep up the great posts. Will be watching for yur new glasses.

LOL! Silly baby sis, you always make me laugh. You do look so cute with your glasses tucked up on top of your head. I have started wearing my sunglasses like that (to heck with worrying about sun in my eyes) because I look so much better with them on the top of my head than on my face!! Love you baby sis.
