Hello, sunshines!
I am writing my second 5 Friday Favorites after a favorable response to my first one, here, in April. These posts are very popular because it allows bloggers to share some of their favorite purchases, finds, books, recipes…the sky’s the limit! Chrissy at Granola & Grace is sharing favorite things for her pup, Dolly. Kinda makes me wish I had another dog. And Andrea at Living on Cloud Nine is talking favorites in the garage. Carrie, Penny, and Kellyann all shared favorites on Friday, too. Hope you will stop by to show them all some love.
Here are some favorite things in my world right now.

Etsy Navy Graphic Sweatshirt and Raspberry Tee
You know how I love my Get Your Pretty On capsule wardrobe challenges, right? Well, one of the items on the spring shopping list is a navy graphic crew neck sweatshirt. Alison styled this ‘Le Weekend’ sweater from J. Crew Factory, now on sale but originally $70.00. I looked around online and in stores for a sweatshirt that was a little more budget-friendly. Finally, hopped over to Etsy where I found Lindsay and the Simply September Shop. Ordered a navy crew neck sweatshirt with the name of my blog written in white script. And I LOVE it!!
Really enjoying Martha Hall Kelly’s Lost Roses. Have you read it yet?
That’s Purrsimmony slipping around my legs. My furry photo-bomber. I liked my sweatshirt so much that I ordered a tee with my logo on it. Lindsay is so quick. Placed the order on 05.13.2019 and I already have it in my sweaty little hands today, 05.18.2019. Five day turn-around! Amazing. Here’s a little sneak peek and then I will style it and take some pics next week so you can see it on. I know you will be waiting with bated breath.
Alison & Aubrey Kimonos
Already admitted to my love for all things GYPO but did you know I also have an affinity for Alison & Aubrey accessories? And that’s no coincidence because the Alison in Alison & Aubrey is none other than Alison Lumbatis of Get Your Pretty On. To top it off, I am an affiliate for both! Well, how do you do!
Early in the spring, I purchased this pink floral kimono for Alison & Aubrey. Paired it with a Loft Outlet white tee and Old Navy high-waist skinny jeans the first time I wore it, and then with pale pink denim jeans in Kentucky. Felt pretty wearing it at mom’s and had many compliments on the outfit. The fabric is light and has a kind of crinkled texture that reminds me a little of seersucker. Love the ruffled sleeves. So girly!
Have you tried the high waist jeans that are trending this spring?
Thought my Plunder stacked bracelet was the perfect accessory.
Another trend that was on the GYPO spring capsule wardrobe shopping list was a navy dotted ruffle-sleeve top, similar to this one. For this piece, I chose another Alison & Aubrey kimono. It arrived today…big mail day over here…so I haven’t had a chance to style it yet, either. But it looks really cute on my dress form. Check her out.
I think this is going to get a lot of wear, too. Dressed up with my red cropped pants and leopard heels. Or dressed down with some denim shorts and sandals. Or somewhere in between with white jeans and ballet flats.
If you aren’t familiar with Alison & Aubrey, I’d like to invite you to use my affiliate link to have a look at the lovely accessories and clothing available there. Thank you.
Madison Braids
Have you seen these adorable braids? I came across them first on my Instagram feed. Then followed the link to their website. Was so excited to be invited to collaborate with them in exchange for a review right here on my blog. Madison Braids come in 12 shades and 5 styles, to include an Arisa fishtail braid and top-knot ponytail holder. I selected an ashy light brown shade in a Lulu two strand braided headband. Was so excited when it arrived quickly. But had to leave the next day for mom’s so didn’t have an opportunity to play with my headband until I returned home.
Each Madison Braids piece is handmade so no two are exactly the same. The headband is adjustable making it the perfect fit for adults or children. When it comes to styling my hair, I don’t! Ha! I use some ancient heated curling rods or the ceramic curling wand my daughter Brennyn gave me, but neither with much finesse. But I can put on a headband with the best of them! Check me out.
Wore my Madison Braids headband on Mother’s Day.
Another spring capsule wardrobe piece was a olive skirt. Mine is this one from Loft Outlet. Paired it with a 3/4 length sleeve boat neck tee.
Wore my headband again today in some crazy wind for PC’s baseball game. The headband never shifted or moved, even in 20 mph gusts.
I even wore it with my navy sweat shirt.
And now you can try Madison Braids, too! You are cordially invited to try them and receive 15% off your order with my special promo code: onceuponatimehappilyeverafter. Thinking I need one of the top-knot ponytail holders, next. Maybe in the highlighted shade. Which one would you like to style?
Your Turn
Have you made any special purchases or found any great bargains this week? Would love to hear about them in a comment below. I am looking for a jumpsuit, anyone found a jumpsuit you just love? My sister has ordered one from Loft Outlet. They are having a big sale right now so this is a good time to buy. What do you think of this one? Or this one is super cute. Which do you prefer?
Thanks for joining me today. Hope you will stop by Alison & Aubrey and Madison Braids. Thank you for the support. Enjoy your weekend.
Hugs and kisses,
Donna Connolly

All good stuff…but your eyes!!! SO blue!!! 😍
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha! Thank you. Here in El Paso, blue are fairly uncommon. I used to get asked all the time if my eyes were my real eyes!! Ha!!
Kellyann Rohr

Lindsay at Simply September is fabulous. Thank you for adding your name to the list for the pink kimono and using my link to do so. Hope they come in stock soon. Have never had a sale on anything. Would love yours to be my first (only???). Going to do a giveaway for a graphic tee the end of the month. Just hope to get whatever is going on with my blog straightened out before my readers vanish!!
Laura
Your sweatshirt is absolutely darling! I love the idea of using your blog name for a graphic tee! Brilliant! Love your braided headband too! It looks really cute!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, baby doll. I am going to do a graphic tee giveaway at the end of the month. Come enter to win. Then you can have a tee that raeds “I do deClaire”.
Daenel T.
That pink kimono is too pretty. So very girly.
I’ve been thinking about getting some items with my blog name… I mean, I promote other people’s businesses, I really ought to promote my own. That tee is the perfect idea.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
That is exactly why I got these graphic pieces with my blog URL. We wear swooshes, and UAs, and alligators or crocodiles, and TOMMY and that weird C for Coach all over everything. Why not promote ourselves!! Going to do a graphic tee giveaway the end of the month. Maybe you can win a tee with your blog address!!
Amy Johnson
Oh my gosh, I love those personalized graphic sweatshirts/tee! How fun! Cute kimono too.
