Lovelies, spring has sprung in El Paso! As I type, there is a gentle breeze bobbing my screen door back and forth. I can see the branches of our neighbor’s tree dancing and hear the birds singing praises for this beautiful morning. It is the perfect day to share my “Spring Bucket List” with you.
My bucket lists keep getting longer. “Autumn’s Bucket List” was a meager 16 activities. You can revisit it here. For winter, my list grew to 20 proposed pastimes (shouldn’t that word have 2 Ts?). Will submit my final progress report for it this week. Reread that list, here. I am feeling renewed and energetic with the arrival of spring and this season’s bucket list reflects just that … topping off at a hopeful 25 diversions! But enough of this dilly-dallying, let’s get to the list, shall we?
Spring Bucket List
You know how I like to alphabetize everything, right? Like the subjects for the “Currently” posts I do with some of the gals…I have to alphabetize our points for discussion. But apparently, I don’t feel the need to do that with bucket lists. Ha! However, I am going to break this rather ambitious list into categories – or, in librarian lingo, subject headings. And alphabetize those.
Craft and Create
- Finish section on mosaic
- Paint a spring-themed painting
- Scrapbook Easter
- Work on elephant picture and cross stitch on elephant picture
Home Sweet Home
- Declutter room by room (now that’s ambitious)
- Decorate for spring and Easter
- Decorate wheelbarrow for spring
- Make a spring garland
- Work in the yard, gardening around the pool
Love Myself
- Get season’s first pedi
- Get highlights or lowlights or some kind of sparkle
- Inaugural dip in pool
- Play catch
- Run for the Fallen 5K, 4/1 (for our wounded warriors at Ft. Bliss)
My Inner Piece
- Donate to the food pantry at church (Abundant Faith Living Center)
- Pay it Forward
- Start Bible journaling or gratitude journal (with Bethany at Southern Couture)
- Watch a sunrise or sunset
PC and Me
- Feed the ducks
- Hike and picnic
- Go to a Chihuahuas game (baseball, of course)
- Read on the balcony or patio
- Start reading a new book together
- “Tequila, Taco and Cerveza Fest” at Cohen stadium, 5/6
- Watch “Sleeping Beauty” movie
And that’s my list. I thought of a 26th activity in the shower this morning but had already created my graphics using “25”. But just between you and me, I really have a 26.
- Take pictures in the poppies.
Making New Friends
I decided to invite some of my blogger buddies to join me for this “Spring Bucket List” series. I created a graphic to post on Facebook with an invite and asked the gals at The Blended Blog to see if someone might be interested in playing with me. Make that playing along. Was delighted to have adorable Whitney from Whitney à la mode (and a TBBer, too) say she was “in”. Then fun-loving Michael Ann from Out and Back jumped in. Next came Danielle, a new mama who has been taking a blogging break, and has just decided to get back to her blog, Family.Love.Inspiration, this month. So glad to have her participating. And then two friends and bloggers new to me this year are sharing their spring bucket lists with us. Ashley from Perks of Ponder and Tamara from My Retirement Project 101. Hope my sweet readers will show them some love by stopping by to read their plans for the season.

So glad to making new friends in the blog world.
Winter Bucket List Final Update
Later this week, I will post my “Winter Bucket List” final update. Think I came out pretty well. But the proof is in the pudding.
Have a wonderful first day of spring, my friends. Hope there are birds singing and warm breezes blowing where you are, too.
Hugs and kisses,

This really makes me miss my seasonal bucket lists I used to make. HMM. Maybe I will do one after all. It is just so hard, when the kids were younger our weekends and evenings were FREE and now there is SO much stuff with all their activities. I miss our freedom, but I do enjoy the activities they are in and it is good for them. I used to do a bucket list for just Brian and I too and I miss that as well. I love your bucket list! I am going to pin this and MAYBE do a simple one this Spring!! I can’t wait to see your hair and photos of your pool! I hope you share your wheelbarrow. I can’t wait to garden soon. I also love that you and PC are going to read a book together. I also want to get into Bible Journaling!

Would love love love love love to have you join us. Maybe you could do a simple one for spring and join in on our
progress report posts? Start little and see how it goes. Of course, your list can be anything…take out the trash!, wash
the car! Try a need bun on Autumn. You do so much already, just throw in a few date night activities, and a couple of
things you’ve wanted to try and call it a bucket list. Running with Fleet Feet again. Running your halfer. There your
list is made!!
And if you want to do anything with Bible journaling holler. I did one page and felt like it looked like something baby
Lucia would draw. I need to try again.
Your list is so well-rounded, too! And I’m impressed that you came-up with 25 ideas! I struggled with my 10! But yours sound like so much fun and I’m excited to watch you accomplish each and every one of them! I’m totally in love with this bucket list idea of yours and think I would like to participate from now on!
Oh, Whitney…you do this old girl’s heart good! I am tickled to death that you might join in for future bucket list posts.
Loved that we shared some items in common on our lists. And since there are no rules, it is ok to put any kind of activity
on your bucket list. Wash the car. Organize the spice cabinet. Walk the kitties!!
We need to decide on a date for our first progress report. Maybe some time the second week of May? Look at your calendar and
I will send out an email to the gals to check theirs. If your blogging besties might enjoy this, have them put together
a list and join us. Then we can link to them for our progress reports.
Thank you again for making me feel good. XO
Love this Leslie! I randomly chose 20 items…at first I found it hard, but then once I got going, I found it hard to stop. Haha. You have so many great ideas on it, that I may just add them to things to do on my Summer Bucket List. Hehe. PS the pool in your backyard…sooo envious. Somedays I wish I lived in a warmer climate so that I could have a swimming pool. Actually there are lots of houses in Regina that do have swimming pools, we just didn’t luck out and buy one that already had one it in. Haha. Future goals. Thanks for inviting me to do this. Now to go and work on my Tasty Tuesday Recipe. 🙂
I think it is fun that we had some similar items on our lists. So glad you are writing up your recipe for Tasty Tuesday. Way to jump back
into blogging with both feet. If you are interested, we are doing Sentence a Day, too. You could start writing your sentences in
April and join the reveal in May. Always the first Thursday of the month for the post.
And I am going to try to do my Little Miracles posts at least once a month. I need to commit to a day like the third Monday and stick
to it. Just get busy and forget!
Pools can be a lot of work but are worth it, I think. What months would you be able to use a pool in Regina? Love that you
can think about having one in the future. Something to work for!!
Thank you so much for joining me on this bucket list post. XO
Love the list – so fun and inspirational! Admire your many creative endeavors on the list, like painting and mosaic, and look forward to your sharing the results here in that my creative endeavors are pretty much limited to photography. What a lovely way to celebrate the start of a new season, thank you so much for inviting me to join in on the fun!
Thank you, Tamara. I wish there were more hours in the day because I never seem to have enough time to do all the artsy
things I want to do. Do you have an Instagram account? I would be interested in seeing your photography. In fact, in January
I created a 31 day photo challenge that I did by myself…boo hoo…on Instagram. Had different prompts for each day. Was
Wanting to do it again in April. Would you like to do that with me? No pressure! I know I am bombarding you with
posting ideas and invitations.
Thank you so much for being so fun. I enjoy your blog and am so glad to have another retired gal to follow!
What a great list, Leslie! I may have to go back and add a few things to mine! PICNIC! I *need* a picnic in my life soon! I’m looking forward to your update posts! Thanks again for inviting me to play too.
I thought of the picnic as a vehicle for eating KFC, which I love! I mentioned to Tamara that I would like to try another
Instagram photo challenge in April. Would you want to give it a go? Depending on how many folks want to play, we could each
come up with so many prompts for photographing. That might be something Sheila would do without having to blog.
That IS an ambitious list! Sadly most of my spring will be busy with homeschool conventions and college trips! However gardening and Beauty and the Beast will get done! Your pool is really coming along! How wonderful!! ( I love that you thought of how to include me! You are a jewel!)
I just love you and Michael Ann. I know I don’t KNOW you but I feel a real connection to you both. You are good as gold. Thank you for coming
by. And I hope you will take some pics this spring and share on Instagram so we can enjoy your spring activities, too.
What a great list… Now I’m thinking, what would I like to accomplish/try this season? Hmmmm… I’ve never been on a picnic, so I definitely think that’ll have to go to the top of my list.
Oh, join us- we will do updates in a few weeks. You could put your bucket list together and post about it, then join us in April for our first update. I would love it! And you have to try a picnic. Top of the list!!!
Great list! I like he tequila part the best.
Hope we get to go to the fest. Imagine half of El Paso will be there.
I love how you have these divided into categories, makes it even more fun to pick the next one on the list. I know everyone is saying it but a picnic is truly a pleasure if life that we often don’t take the time to do!
My PC helped me think of the picnic idea. The other day he surprised me by saying we were going to buy sandwiches and drinks and go up on the mountain overlook to eat them. In fact, it was the same place we had our first kiss. this time I want KFC for our official picnic.
I’m having a hard time making a spring bucket list because there are so few signs of spring at my house. It’s been so cold and wet that the cherry trees aren’t even blossoming. I’ll just steal a few things from your list!
Poor baby! You are having the winter that never quits. We need a half-season between winter and spring like Indian summer between summer and fall. Or is that no longer
politically correct? Maybe just make a list for you of dates and activities you and the hubs can do. Hope spring arrives up there any minute. XO
Hi Leslie: Fun idea! I have a Spring Activity List on my blog. https://natalietheexplorer.blogspot.ca/
Enjoy spring!
Hey Natalie!! Heading to your blog in just a sec. Want to invite you to join us for our first spring bucket list progress report on 4/27, Thursday. We have a really nice, varied
group of gals doing this and would love for you to join. Our group has grown to 8 now. If you are interested, please let me know. Will email you, too. Now to check
out your list.
What a great list! Right now the only thing on my list is to make it until the end of the school year. I can retire from teaching in 4 years. I do always make a list for summer as there is always so much to accomplish!
I am finally adjusting to this retirement gig. Glad you will be retiring soon, too. What grade do you teach? Enjoying subbing but really enjoying my down time, too.
Please join us for the summer bucket list link-up!! We will be sharing our lists on the first day of summer, June 21. Would love to have you jump in.
Oh, yay, a new friend!!! Thank you for coming by and for leaving a comment. My daughter has autoimmune issues and really struggles at time. Going to follow you on Bloglovin’ and pass your blog name onto Lauren.
I’m so glad to meet you! I’m also a Texas girl and recently retired school teacher/administrator. Redefining myself after working for so many years has been interesting to say the least. I love the idea of making a spring bucket list. Thanks for sharing at Over the Moon. We look forward to seeing you again next week.
Thank you for coming by! What do you busy yourself with now that you are retired? We will be doing a summer bucket list in June. Would love to have you join the fun. Trying to find new friends/bloggers who are closer to my age and chapter in life.
WOW! It’s a spring activities bucket idea. Thanks for share
Thanks! Join us in September!
