Good Thursday Morning, Fashionistas!
Gotta share that I am being a lazy bones this morning. It is already long after 10:00 a.m. and I have accomplished next to nothing. But that is going to change right now with this blog post. Today I am linking up with Carrie at CurlyCraftyMom and Jill at DousedwithPink to share my Thursday fashion which I actually wore on Wednesday. I consider Carrie a (virtual) friend and know firsthand (from her blog) that she has not a single lazy bone in her body. If I think back before retirement, I was kind of that way myself. Retirement took care of that.
Since birds of a feather stick together, I can just bet Jill lives as active a life as Carrie.
Maybe they will rub off on ME?
Here’s the outfit I put together for the Thursday Fashion Files Link-Up.
I wore this to volunteer in my friend Martha’s library.
Actually, I wore navy tennies instead of the striped flats because I knew I would be helping with inventory.
I WISH I had worn my hand-me-down-from-Lauren striped flats because I just love this pattern mixing.
Next time.
And here’s the rundown on my outfit.
Old Navy, slightly distressed boyfriend jeans (last spring), available here. Merona boatneck, 3/4-length sleeve tee from Target, exact style, different colors, here. Kate Spade square stud earrings from Nordstrom, a gift from Brennyn, available here. Sea foam crystal necklace, gift from my sister, possibly Old Navy. Kitty watch from Charming Charlie’s, gift from Lauren, exact here, except mine had Lasik surgery and doesn’t wear glasses anymore. (Lost her glasses on my plane home from TLA in April) Love my hand-me-down flats, probably Target, similar here. Geez, this outfit would hardly exist if it wasn’t for the love/generosity of my family!
I love this tee. It is long, loose and comfortable. But the best part is the boat neck. It has this little extra fabric that kept the straps showing on my new Victoria’s Secret bra. I know that it is ‘high-fashion’ to show your bra, bra straps, thong, thong straps but that is one fad this grandma is not embracing.
See that little triangle of fabric.
Great invention!!!
Anxious for payday so I can buy some more of these great tees. And they are on sale for $12.00. What a deal.
So there you have it, my Thursday Fashion. Nothing fancy. But I have to say, I felt cute. And next time I will be sure to kick things up a notch by switching out the well-loved navy Keds for my striped flats. Hope you will stop by to check out Carrie and Jill’s great looks today and link-up with your own Thursday fashion.
Enjoy a restful, renewing long weekend, friends.
Hugs and kisses,
Morgan
Love the outfit and the T shirt!

Such a cute look! I am going to have to check out those tees at that price! I just love stripes. Your flats are just so cute and I bet they would have looked perfect with this. I am dying over that watch!!! So, So, So, stinkin CUTE! And I am not even a cat person. I am glad to have discovered your blog and will be popping in all the time now. 🙂

Oh, thank you so much for coming by!!! I even told my husband about you and your blog so I am really touched that you would visit me. My daughter discovered the kitty watches, and they also had rabbits, ladybugs and puppies, I think. We are big animal lovers in my family. Still contemplating getting my haircut like yours. Just so afraid mine will be flat and unflattering where yours is full and fun! Give me courage. 🙂

Thank you, sugar foot, for coming by! I have had to totally rewrite all the things I thought were rules for fashion. I thought stripes made me look bigger, would never have paired two patterns at one time, never knew that leopard and camo are neutrals! But I feel so much freer being able to pair things and put things together and tossing all rules by the wayside. Love linking up with you and Carrie.

I always enjoy your posts, you are such a sweetie! Haha! Everyone tells me that, I am not sure… 🙂 There are some days where I can be quite lazy! lol! (Let’s keep that a secret, jk!). I love everything about this outfit, especially the striped shirt AND flats! I have been looking for some striped flats and Gap Outlet was out of my size (boo!). Have a great holiday weekend!

Hey Carrie! Thank you for your sweet words. I am working all this week as a substitute teacher for a second grade class but hope to be able to link up with you and Jill again soon. We did have a great Memorial Day weekend. Enjoyed seeing your pics from the ball park. We are big baseball fans at our house, too. And I am still running, following your good lead. Baby steps but at least I am still at it. Bought some new workout clothes to inspire me. Hoping to be able to run a 5K by fall. XO
