Hey friends,
Linking-up with some of the other Blended Blog gals to share our “Sentence a Day” summaries for the month of August. I just cannot believe August has come and gone. But then again, it seems like so much time has passed since I wrote these first sentences. Let’s see how I spent my month.
- School starts two weeks from today; will I be working? 8/1
- Enjoyed a glorious, “fresh” (as they say for ‘cool’ in El Paso) morning on my patio with my kitties and God’s beautiful world. 8/2
- Back to summer cleaning, in the kitchen this time. 8/3 (Remember that some of the gals on The Blended Blog shared what’s in their junk drawer? Well, I was shamed into cleaning mine!)
- Yay for our beautiful triple-A ball park, the Chihuahuas baseball team and dog ears on headbands for Chico fans. 8/4
- Fabulous Friday with my Prince at the range, the gym, exploring downtown and dinner out. 8/5
- Uplifting message at church tonight: find your purpose in life, be humble and be a prayer warrior who leads others to prayer. 8/6
- Felt quite accomplished after walking up McKelligon Canyon for the first time in months. 8/7
- Started my 5K run training up again today after a number of months away from running…let’s do this! 8/8
- Accomplished bits and pieces of a lot of little things, TPT store, cleaning kitchen cabinets, washing curtains and baseboards, finishing the day with card making class and Olympic gold in swimming and gymnastics. 8/9
- Looking forward to seeing my babies this weekend. 8/10
- Have been too busy living life to write about it. 8/11
- Brennyn and Cady are HERE! 8/12
- We always have so much we want to do and so little time to do it. 8/13
- Drove up to Albuquerque to see Lauren, Lucia and Francisco and car acted crazy; enjoyed pool time, dinner on the Sandia Mountains and lots of laughs, Cady was an angel. 8/14
- Spent the morning with Lauren and Lucia before driving back to EP with Brennyn and Cady, saw law enforcement vehicles and people with flags on every overpass and along the side of the road waiting to pay tribute to the fallen officer from Hatch, NM. 8/15
- Never easy to say goodbye to my babies and theirs. 8/16
- Anticipating the start of a new school year with my first library sub assignment back at Jefferson High School where I first worked as a librarian in 1989. 8/17
- Really thinking about the children’s book I want to write and beginning the writing process. 8/18
- Dinner at our new Chick-fila wa disappointing and decidedly not 21 Day Fix nor Weight Watcher friendly. 8/19
- Cady messaged me with a voice message on her Pink (iPad) and I face-timed her back and we had the best conversation. 8/20
- Woke up to another message from my Coo, blueberry pancakes, 2 mile run, washed cars, laundry, Skyped with my sis and ready for the first day of school tomorrow. 8/21 (Shameless plug for our TpT store, Library Lovin’ Sisters)
- First day of school…back in the library where I first worked when I came to El Paso…crazy. 8/22
- Second day of school, set up the Little Free Library…so cutie. 8/23
- Third day of school…getting the hang of this working stuff again but sure get home worn slick. 8/24
- Enjoyed fall-like weather on our patio with the kitties this morning. 8/25
- Feeling funky on Friday – my annual Lyme Disease flare up? 8/26

- Spent this quiet morning outside on my patio then decorated for fall . 8/31
Tomorrow we start a brand new month to write about, a sentence a day. Won’t you join us? Grab your laptop, your iPad or good old fashioned pen and paper, and get to writing. Then link-up with us in October when we publish our Sentence a Day posts. If you joined the fun for August, please use the link-up below to share your post.
Thank you, sweet ones, for stopping by today. Enjoy a beautiful first day of September, and then write about it!
Hugs and kisses,
Sheila @ Sheila's Potpourri
Yay for new beginnings! Running a 5K, writing a book and new job! What a month it’s been! And seriously, you are getting fall like weather – in AUGUST??
Leslie Clingan
Isn’t that crazy that we are getting fall weather. This weekend will be back in the 90s but have loved the overcast mornings and cool breezes that have begun each day lately. Enjoy your long weekend, friend!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha! We shall see if I get any of those things accomplished. Have had the writing the book business on the back burner forever…truly, for years. Running the 5K, too. Come run with me, Sheila, cause PC doesn’t want to.
Sheila @ Sheila's Potpourri
It is important to have a running friend but I don’t run with M. He’s too fast for me! Ask around your friends/neighbors?
Leslie Roberts Clingan
When P and I were dating, we went for a run. About third-way in, he said he couldn’t run with me, that I was slowing him down too much. Later he confessed that I was too fast and he was embarrassed. Love it! Girl power!
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side
I love this! Yay for a new school year and decorating for Fall! I’m bought stuff to decorate with but have yet to do anything with it. I did make a school days wreath for the front door, so that’s something.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
A school day’s wreath is a great transition until it is really fall. But you guys don’t get a whole lot of fall even in October and November, huh? I just love decorating for the holidays/seasons.
Andrea@WellnessNotes
I loved reading this post! I’m going to (try really hard to) join you this month!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Please, please do! Would love it!!

Sounds like a great month! Love your patio! I am just really into outdoor living these days.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I love being outside. This morning, I started emptying the dishwasher, got one rack emptied and wound up outside working in the yard. I am such a ding-bat, but would rather be outside than in. Eventually returned to the dishwasher but not until I had worked in the yard for an hour!
Alison @ Puppies & Pretties
Oh my goodness, I love your patio! Way to go on the 5K training!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I love being on my patio but this last couple of weeks we have had mosquitoes for the first time ever. Guess
that is the price we pay for rain!
