Morning glories!
Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July, in the U.S. or elsewhere. We had my kind of day, L-A-Z-Y, but still got in a workout at the gym, a swim in the pool and fireworks after sunset. Now to remember to write that for my sentence a day!!
As you no doubt know by now, if it’s the first Thursday of the month, it’s time for Sentence a Day. Sentence a Day, 06.2018, to be exact. The link-up where we capture a glimpse of our lives in a single (often run-on) sentence a day. Here’s how my June looked. I don’t know about you, but I blinked and June was gone!

I don’t know about you, but I am exhausted just rereading all of this. I hope July will be a slower, calmer month. Want to get settled back into a regular routine. Whatever that is! But this weekend the kids are coming and next week my sister is visiting. Which are both real treats! So back to normalcy after that.
Your Turn
I hear a lot of people my age say that the weeks and months are flying by. Does it seem that way to you? Or is that just my generation’s reality? Walmart is putting out school supplies! And right behind that will be Christmas. But we are still having 100* days so I can’t begin to think of winter yet. Think we are up to 27 days over 100* this year.
If you have a Sentence a Day, 06.2018 post to link-up with us, click on my ex-husband (the frog or is it a toad?), below.
Even if you don’t blog, you can still play along. Write your sentences down and then come back the first Thursday of the month to share some with me in a comment.
Off to bed! Thank you for running by today, my pretties!
Hugs and kisses,
Em
I followed much of your month in real time and was already pooped! Then read this summary and now I need a nap!
Thank you for sharing your wedding celebration. Everyone looked beautiful and it was so interesting!
ALSO…thank you for sharing your recipes. Panko in the poppers is genius! And I still want to try your dad’s roast and the street corn. I’m hungry already!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, hope you will try these recipes. If I have to pick one, I would say try the poppers first. They are easy and so good!! The corn is good, too, and the meat, a sentimental fav but I struggle to find a good cut of meat for the roast. We have a new meat market coming in near our house (they have been building it, though for almost a year!). Hoping they will carry better meat.
The wedding celebration was fun. Nice to have all of the family together, and to have an opportunity to get dressed up and celebrate the love we share.
Rebecca Jo
I think the time is just flying by too!!! How are we already in July????
I hate an eye twitch. They say that’s usually from nerves.
I’m going to try & get back in the swing of things of doing this for July. I always love looking back on my month.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you for stopping by, baby doll. You are in my thoughts and prayers. The second half of this year has got to be better for your family. Big hugs.

What is a German sandwich?
What a terrible stressing thing with your pool, I hope it can be solved soon. I wish you a great July!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
My husband recently worked in Germany and had several great sandwiches on fresh baked bread with several types of cheeses and meats. So, now that he is home, Paul has asked for similar sandwiches here at home. So, I have been making them with rolls from the bakery, cheese, salami, ham, turkey. He loves them!
Thank you for your well wishes about the pool. The builder and his lawyer are coming out tomorrow to look at all of the issues. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Juhlin Newkirk
Sorry you were sick to kick off the month but sounds like you had lots of great family time, crafts and other things that happened.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank s, Juhli. June worked out to be a pretty good month. And July has been better yet. Looking forward to being home the rest of the month and enjoying life in my corner of the world.
Gail
I’m glad Purrsnickitty turned up. Great names for your kitties BTW. You’ve been as busy as a bird dog. I don’t know what that means, but a US lady said it on TV today. What’s the deep tissue massage – is it like Ralfing (ouch) or lymphatic drainage? Mr M has the odd sports massage. I had a lovely aromatherapy massage a few weeks ago.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Gail, I am so glad Purrsnickitty turned up, too. She really has not been terribly interested in going outside since.
I love the expression ‘busy as a bird dog’ – have never heard that but it is fabulous.
A deep tissue massage is very hard, very deep, almost painful but it works out a lot of kinks and knots. I have only had one with the therapist that PC is using now and it was good but almost too rough or painful for me. I needed it but felt like I was gritting my teeth most of the hour that I was on the massage table. I prefer aromatherapy or hot stone!!
Laura
ALL of your girls are beautiful!! I’ve taken a few months off from writing a sentence a day, but I’ve picked it up again for July!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
You sweet thing! Thank you for the compliment on my girls. My daughters’ father is Hispanic and I think they are a unique combination of the two of us and I love them so. Glad you are going to be joining us for SaD this month! Welcome back, dear one.
Nancy Baten
Glad you’re cat wasn’t gone! Lovely to read this post!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, dear! Join us for Sentence a Day! You could make your sentences fashion related. XO
Natalie
Such a full month for you, Leslie. Glad you had a lovely celebration at your daughter’s wedding and found your cat. Hope you have more time to relax in July.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
So glad that this month SHOULD be slower and allow me time to relax. Thank you, Natalie!
Jo Tracey
I’m exhausted reading it – let alone living it! What a busy and active month. As an aside, just how twisty & good is The Wife Between Us? Loved it. Enjoy your July.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Jo Tracey, The Wife Between Us was absolutely twisty!! Great word! If you haven’t read Into the Water, it is a very twisty read, too! I was spellbound.
June was too busy for my preferences. Hoping the rest of July is quiet and I can spend some more time in my home sweet home.
Jodie
That cracked me up about Golden Coral–we drive by one lots, but have never eaten there (of course, my hubby is a foodie…that’s why, but we always joke about it)
I don’t know how you do all of this traveling girl—it tires me out just reading about it.
I’m so glad your kitty was okay—I started reading that, and got worried!! We ended up stopping letting ours go outside—my husband worries WAY too much!!
XOXO

Your daughters are stunning!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! They are an interesting combination of their Panamanian dad and their blue-eyed mom. Both girls have his complexion but green eyes.
Danielle
Wow. You did have A very busy June. Poor Purrsnickitty. Must have been pretty scared. Pix has gotten out on us a few times and results in a mad dash asfyer him.
I love the photo of you and your girls. So beautiful. Hopefully July is quieter for you and you get some time to relax.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hey sweet one! My days just seem to stay busy. This week my sister visited, which was a real treat. But there was no time for blog writing or reading. Looking forward to a quiet week next week and hope to rediscover my routine!
