Hello, fashionistas!
By a show of hands, who remembers that I love snow? Yay!! You guys know me so well. But living in El Paso, Texas doesn’t equate to enjoying impressive amounts of annual snowfall. There’s more snow decorating the spaces above my kitchen cabinets than has fallen all winter in the Sun City. So what’s a snow-loving gal to do?
Snowflake Sweater
Break out the snowflake sweater, of course. And pair it with snowflake earrings! Thrown on black boots and wool boot cuffs. Then turn the AC down real low in the car! If the snow won’t come to me, I’ll go to the snow. Kinda.
My sweet PC bought me this Loft powder pink, snowflake sweater two winters ago. Probably because I was lamenting our lack of winter precipitation as we shopped together one Saturday. He is very thoughtful that way! And was probably secretly relieved that he could pacify me with a few silvery faux flakes on a pale pink background. Much better in his opinion, than the real thing.
I paired my sweater with a gray and white pin-striped Merona button-up/button-down? blouse and gun metal gray cords from Loft Outlet. Don’t really know if that is gun metal gray or not. Just like the way that sounds.
Wore my Charming Charlie rhinestone snowflake earrings. Then finished up the look with strappy, mid-calf black boots from Kohls and some woolly warm boot cuffs I ordered from Etsy. Got tired of waiting for a snow day to wear them. Lastly, through the magic of photo editing (which I know almost nothing about), I was able to make it snow!! They don’t call me Willard Scott for nothing.
I admired Laura’s pretty Fair Isle sweater in a recent post at I do deClaire and started looking online for something similar. Loved that hers had a turtleneck and longer length. But since I am supposed to be purging and not adding to my closet, I called off my hunt. Lo and behold, if I am not mistaken this IS a Fair Isle sweater. And I found two more lurking in the depths of that black hole where my clothes hang. Shopping my closet paid off!
Stop and Shop
Have collected the images and links of a few snowflake sweaters for your consideration (and mine). Hope you will take a look. If you click on the images, I earn a few cents a piece. Thank you!
Your Turn
How do you feel about snow? Have you enjoyed any this winter where you live? I am wanting to kidnap my PC for a weekend get-away and one of the options would be a trip into the mountains in New Mexico where there would probably be snow. Is that selfish of me? There are these cutie little cabins we sometimes stay in, so that would be fun, right? What would a fun get-away weekend look like for you or your PC?
Thanks for stopping by, girlsies. You all were so sweet to leave comments when I opened my fashion haus last week. Thank you for the love and kinds comments on my faux fur vest. Linking up today with Carrie at Curly, Crafty Mom, with Laura at I do deClaire and Jennie at A Pocketful of Polka Dots.
Hoping to be back for a Spiritual Sunday post this weekend and Tasty Tuesday next week. And as the new month approaches, consider joining us for Sentence a Day. You can start in February. We will be sharing January’s sentences on 02.01.2018. Stay warm and hurry back.
Hugs and kisses,
Laura
Love the pink snowflake sweater. And I also love snow, but we don’t get much of it here in Louisiana! Enjoy your Thursday!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Your Louisiana winter weather is probably a lot like ours!! Except you have humidity and we are dry as a bone. I have about a two week window where it seems appropriate to wear faux fur and snowflakes. XO
Danielle
Loving the sweater and all the snowflakes on your page. 😉 We actually don’t have much snow currently. Just a tiny bit that is stuck under some ice from the freezing rain last week. I actually don’t mind snow, but I much enjoy warmer weather if I had a choice.
I’m not sure what I would pick for a quick little weekend away. Maybe a trip to the Moose Jaw Spa to sit in the indoor/outdoor mineral pool and get couples massages. Maybe hit up the Casino. Nothing crazy. I think your trip to the mountains sounds fantastic.

Moose Jaw Spa sounds right up my alley. In fact, you reminded me that we have hot springs near here. But now I have to take this stupid foot into consideration. Ugh. Grumpy.
Carrie
Oh, such a cute sweater! Leslie, you look fab in pink!
Daenel T.
Haha Cute. Pink is such a good color for you. It makes you look all in love. Oh, wait, that’s your PC doing that to you. 🙂 Really, I do like your sweater.
As for snow. I like it from a distance. Like when it’s on my computer and I’m making fun of family and friends who have to shovel. Although I do miss snow days.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha! What a sweet comment. I guess I am pretty much in love over here. Better wear pink more often. I never used to think of pink and red for clothing choices at all…they seemed to girly for me. But actually, red is probably better on me than the olive drab I love.
Snow days are the best, aren’t they? I love waking up in the middle of the night and somehow hearing the snow fall…and the joy that brings, knowing school will be canceled.

You two are just the absolute cutest and such an inspiration! I also adore your sweater. It happens to be in my favorite color and my favorite weather…yep, this Michigander loves her snow! Actually, I’ve always dreamt of truly being snowed in during a blizzard. It’s never happened, though, those darn snow plows are just so on top of things up here!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Awww, Whitney, you sweet angel. Thank you.
I bet you guys are on top of your snow plowing up there in Michigan. Since you routinely get so much snow, do you ever have snow days? My sister in Houston…HOUSTON…had two snow days this year and five hurricane days. She says they will be in school til July. Crazy.
Sure was touched by your post about Michigan, the gymnasts’ doctor, your university. Such a sad situation.
Gail
You’re so cute in that sweater Leslie. We don’t get much snow either here in London. How I long for a big drop so I could work from home!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hope your month is finishing on the up-tick, Gail. If not, may some snow fall right on your neighborhood so you work from home as January comes to a close.

I wish I could send you my snow! We get so much of it in Wisconsin it gels old. LOVE that sweater. It’s so pretty!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Seems it is feast or famine with the snow. People either get inundated with it or never see a flake. I know Wisconsin can be bitter cold and snow covered for months. Just send me a weekend’s worth!
