By a show of hands, who remembers that I love snow? Yay!! You guys know me so well. But living in El Paso, Texas doesn’t equate to enjoying impressive amounts of annual snowfall. There’s more snow decorating the spaces above my kitchen cabinets than has fallen all winter in the Sun City. So what’s a snow-loving gal to do?
Break out the snowflake sweater, of course. And pair it with snowflake earrings! Thrown on black boots and wool boot cuffs. Then turn the AC down real low in the car! If the snow won’t come to me, I’ll go to the snow. Kinda.
My sweet PC bought me this Loft powder pink, snowflake sweater two winters ago. Probably because I was lamenting our lack of winter precipitation as we shopped together one Saturday. He is very thoughtful that way! And was probably secretly relieved that he could pacify me with a few silvery faux flakes on a pale pink background. Much better in his opinion, than the real thing.
I paired my sweater with a gray and white pin-striped Merona button-up/button-down? blouse and gun metal gray cords from Loft Outlet. Don’t really know if that is gun metal gray or not. Just like the way that sounds.
Wore my Charming Charlie rhinestone snowflake earrings. Then finished up the look with strappy, mid-calf black boots from Kohls and some woolly warm boot cuffs I ordered from Etsy. Got tired of waiting for a snow day to wear them. Lastly, through the magic of photo editing (which I know almost nothing about), I was able to make it snow!! They don’t call me Willard Scott for nothing.
I admired Laura’s pretty Fair Isle sweater in a recent post at I do deClaire and started looking online for something similar. Loved that hers had a turtleneck and longer length. But since I am supposed to be purging and not adding to my closet, I called off my hunt. Lo and behold, if I am not mistaken this IS a Fair Isle sweater. And I found two more lurking in the depths of that black hole where my clothes hang. Shopping my closet paid off!
Stop and Shop
Have collected the images and links of a few snowflake sweaters for your consideration (and mine). Hope you will take a look. If you click on the images, I earn a few cents a piece. Thank you!
How do you feel about snow? Have you enjoyed any this winter where you live? I am wanting to kidnap my PC for a weekend get-away and one of the options would be a trip into the mountains in New Mexico where there would probably be snow. Is that selfish of me? There are these cutie little cabins we sometimes stay in, so that would be fun, right? What would a fun get-away weekend look like for you or your PC?
Thanks for stopping by, girlsies. You all were so sweet to leave comments when I opened my fashion haus last week. Thank you for the love and kinds comments on my faux fur vest. Linking up today with Carrie at Curly, Crafty Mom, with Laura at I do deClaire and Jennie at A Pocketful of Polka Dots.
Hoping to be back for a Spiritual Sunday post this weekend and Tasty Tuesday next week. And as the new month approaches, consider joining us for Sentence a Day. You can start in February. We will be sharing January’s sentences on 02.01.2018. Stay warm and hurry back.
Hugs and kisses,
