Hey dolls!
Thank you for stopping by for a glimpse at what I am up to “currently“. Linking-up with Anne at Anne In Residence and Erin at Love, Fun and Football this month. Sharing what we are browsing, (where we are) going, learning, planning and wishing. In that order.
And away we go…
Browsing
Pinterest. Follow me, here. I am always browsing Pinterest for recipes, craft ideas, book suggestions and cute outfits. Sometimes browsing Pinterest feels a little like pressure to be a better cook, a more clever crafter, more prolific reader and snazzier dresser. Sometimes it feels like pressure to spend money keepin’ up with the Joneses. Other times, browsing Pinterest is just fun, inspirational and relaxing.
Most often, I try to use Pinterest as a way of making myself a little bit better version of me.
Bought the “Life is Short” graphic tee, here. Thinking of ordering the mini-succulents to make a summer centerpiece for my dining room table. Check them out, here. Really, really want to jump into Bible journaling with both hands this summer. You, too? Check out my Bible journaling pins, here. And how ’bout that adorable “towels and suits” rack? Going to try to convince PC that we should make one together! If I put it on the summer bucket list (coming on June 21!), it is more likely to happen.
Going
To Ft. Worth…Nashville…Ft. Campbell, Kentucky…Lexington. On Sunday. Will visit with my Ft. Worth gals for five days of sun and fun, sushi eating and shopping.
Then off to Nashville for a quick bite of lunch with my niece Shelby. A weekend with PC who will be working at Ft. Campbell the last half of the month then up to Lexington to join my sister Valerie in a visit with our mom and brother Kevin. “Currently” trying to decide what to pack.
After all of those travels, I am going to clean up my house. The spring cleaning and decluttering that was on my spring goals…didn’t happen. And I don’t see it happening while we are out of town. My kitties aren’t very work brittle when I’m not around to nag them.
Planning
Lessons for my Teachers Pay Teachers store, Library Lovin’ Sisters. Have so many library lessons I want to dust off and brush up then add to our store.
Also planning a birthday bash for Brennyn, Lauren and Cady toward the end of July. We almost always celebrate their three birthdays together. Brennyn’s birthday is 7/30, Lauren’s 7/31 and Cady’s is 7/28. Since baby girl Lucia will be along, we’ll celebrate her happy unbirthday just so she won’t feel left out.
Our theme has been flamingos in the past, and we have had several beach celebrations in Galveston. Our pool should be the perfect setting for this year’s party. Found this little guy on Pinterest last night.
Thought he and a few of his friends would be cute with citronella candles around the pool. Want one, too? Click here. “Currently” thinking about flamingo decorations and birthday cakes and pink balloons.
Learning
To use my camera. Ordered my Sony Alpha a5000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm OSS Lens almost exactly a year ago. Still don’t really know how to use it. Going to be learning its ends and outs this summer. I have a tripod thanks to PC, a light kit courtesy of Santa Lauren, and she is going to give me her brick-look backdrop (for now) until she begins blogging again.
My blogging buddy Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots shared a great post on using her camera and remote for style-selfies. She and another friend Shelly, The Queen in Between, have inspired me to get busy with mine. My gal pal Carrie at Curly, Crafty Mom has really upped her photography game, too. Gonna, gonna, gonna do it!
Wishing
For peace. A little rest and relaxation this summer with my Prince. This spring has been pretty stressful with the construction of our pool. Post coming soon. Once we get home from our travels and before the birthday visits begin, I am wishing for some quiet days at home. Just the two of us. And our girls, Purrsnickitty and Purrsimmony, of course.
Always wishing (praying) for peace around the world, an end to world hunger, cancer, child and animal abuse. But those are probably ‘given’ wishes that go without saying. Kind of Miss Universe answers.
And that’s my “currently” for the month.
Spring Goals Final Review
Time to take a look at how I came out on my spring goals.
My last progress report is here. And these were my goals.
Oh, boy. Hmmm.
Take scrapbook stuff to children’s hospital. Gotta happen.
I did, just today, finally take my scrapbook stuff…but not to the children’s hospital. It was such a heavy box. And the walk from the parking lot into the hospital would have been quite a struggle lugging the box and bag of stuff. So, I remembered the YWCA’s summer program and took the items there. Many of the children in neighborhoods where I have worked may benefit from doing arts and crafts at the YWCA. I think that goal was met. (For an especially pretty pic – NOT – of me dropping off the stuff on Instagram, please follow me here).
Start and finish spring cleaning by June 20th (which should say June 21st), the first day of summer.
Have not even started. And will now be out of town on June 20th. So this ain’t happen’. Does it count that I dusted and vacuumed today? And cleaned all three toilets? Moving this to summer’s list.
Swim 3 miles a week, 21 Day Fix (BeachBody) 3X a week, run-lift weights 3X a week.
Well, with the saga that is our pool, I couldn’t have fulfilled the swimming part of this goal for most of the spring. I have begun swimming laps but not 3 miles a week. I have been lifting weights 2-3X a week, and was running several miles a week. BeachBody and Weight Watchers – not so much. To be continued.
Cook 5 nights a week.
Ok, thought I was doing this. Til I asked PC. He says I cook more like 3 nights a week. I called him Pinocchio. I would say 4 nights a week. And on weekends, I fix hearty breakfasts most Sundays. Will do better on this once we get home the end of June from our travels.
Devotional 5X a week.
Yes! And maybe this one counts most of all? Maybe not 5X every single week but darn near.
Momma Love Fellowship.
Yes, and will be writing up my experience. Stay tuned.
Summer Goals
Haven’t set any yet but will be doing that and writing up my summer bucket list to share on June 21. If you would like to join in, let me know. Would love to have you share your summer goals and bucket list with us. This little project has blossomed and I have a number of lovely ladies joining me on the 21st! Be sure to run back by.
Your Turn
So, what are you up to “currently”? What are you browsing, going (to), learning, planning and wishing? Please share in a comment below. And start drawing up your summer bucket list and summer goals to share, too!!
Off to scrub the tub. And dust the master bedroom before PC comes home and we hit the pool for laps. Thank you, dolls, for coming by. Hope you will visit Anne and Erin for their “currently” posts.
Hugs and kisses,
Sue from Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond
You have such a busy life Leslie and I loved reading about what you have been browsing and planning. After all your travels you do need a rest and a few peaceful days will certainly be welcome. Thanks for another uplifting post to start my day. Have a great weekend.

You are such a sweetie! Working on my fitness post and will send it tomorrow. Nothing profound but some tips that work for me! Once I return home, I hope to have a few quiet weeks doing things I enjoy here at home. Have to get busy on my summer bucket list.
Danielle
I feel the same way about Pinterest. Sometimes it’s motivating and sometimes it makes me feel like I have to keep up. And then I’m like wait…no I don’t. You do you Dani.
You have a lot of traveling planned. Sounds fun though. I’ve always wanted to go to Nashville.
How awesome is it to celebrate 3 birthdays so close together. Should be fun. And the flamingo theme is awesome.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Exactly…you do Dani and I am doing Leslie over here. It is hard to see all of the deliciousness and creativity on Pinterest and not feel inadequate. But who has the time and money to do all of that. We have to pick and choose!! But even after four years, I still love Pinterest.
I like to travel and love to see my family but I really love being home, too. Just wish they all lived close enough that we could have lunch together or run to the mall some afternoons and seeing each other didn’t involve planes and days and days away from home.
Natalie
My currently: Browsing at farmer’s market. Going to Costa Rica at the end of June for nine days. Learning Spanish. Planning another trip to Spain and Gibraltar in August. Wishing for peace on earth, yes!
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side
yay for so many fun things happening for you in the coming weeks. 🙂 Happy Friday lady!

Linked up for the 10 on the 10th after reading your great post. Hope I can remember to do it regularly. Such fun!

That towel and suits rack for your pool is super cute – you should definitely make one! I have a ton of scrapbook and rubber stamps I’d love to get rid of. I’ll make it a point to call the YMCA and hospitals to see if they’d like it.

Oh, yay YOU!! I am sure the hospitals or your Y would love to have your scrapbook stuff. I am still scrapbooking but had lots of gadgets and paper and stickers I wasn’t ever going to use. Even the Ronald McDonald House would be a great place to take your goodies. Thank you for doing that. It will warm some hearts, I am sure. XO
Debbie
It’s also a blast to see what you’re up to Leslie! Wishing you happy times ahead 🙂

Thank you, Debbie. So glad you stopped by. Thank you for leaving me a message. XO
