Get on in here, girls!
Today is my last Currently post for the year. As in the past, I am linking up with that cutie pie Becky at Choose Happy. I surely hope Becky will continue to host this series in the new year (how bout it, Becky?) because these posts have been such a great way (for me!) to review what’s been up in my life, well, you know…

Here’s what I am up to:
Missing
My daughter Brennyn and granddaughter Cady left this morning. Our house was much quieter as I went about my day doing laundry, picking up, kind of putting things back to where they were before. Not at all to say that Bren and Cady came in like whirling dervishes, turning everything upside down. But I just had better things to do while they were here than to fold clothes and wipe down the kitchen.
Cady wanted to see my school so we stopped by there on Friday. We walked around Ascarate Lake, fed the ducks and played at the park on Saturday. I think we could have fed the ducks for hours. Such simple pleasure. For me. And the ducks.
Checking
Santa’s lists for my name. On Saturday, at Gabriel’s restaurant, both Paul and Cady took the opportunity to check with Santa about my status on his naughty and nice lists.
Looks like there might be a lot of coal in my future.
Primping
There was a whole lot of lipstick applying that took place over the four days of the girls’ visit. Brennyn has the prettiest shade of Cover Girl lipstick. A deep berry-pink. She and Cady wear it so well. Cady wore it well several times a day, each and every day.
She applied this without even a mirror. A natural. While Brennyn (mommy) was trying on tops at J.Roberts boutique in Ruidoso, New Mexico on Sunday, Cady took full advantage of the cozy neighboring dressing room and its full-length mirror to try to spruce me up a bit.
An extensive process. But what’s that saying? You can put a lipstick on a pig but in the end…

Coloring
My BFF Sharon sent Cady and Brennyn coloring books. Actually, more than coloring books. Cady’s was this magical Crayola Color Wonder Disney Princess glitter paper and special markers.

And Brennyn’s gift was a combination coloring book and trip to an imaginary land. Gorgeous black line drawings to decorate with color.

I am so glad that coloring for adults is en vogue. I need one of these beautiful diversions for myself.
But books and glitter paper aren’t the only places we were coloring.
During the girls’ all-too-brief visit, there was also some:
- Wining
- Sight-seeing
- Playing
- Celebrating
- Reading
- Sleeping
- Saying goodbye
Until we can be together again
I miss you, Brennyn and Cady. I love you both dearly. Hurry back to me.

I am sure Becky will continue these posts next year! If not, I’ll tell her she HAS to. Lol. Wow, this looks like the perfect girls weekend and I so hope Autumn and I and her future daughter (yikes, sort of scary to think of that now!) have these good times in the far future. Oh, my… I was cracking up over the lipstick applying in the dressing rooms. SO, so funny! You are such a great grandma, you just go with it! Lol! I am sure you do miss them, especially after all of the good times. I just got an adult coloring book and I started to color one page, but after an hour I only have 1/8 of it done! I must be a slow! lol!

I bet you and I are both going to be perfectionists when it comes to our coloring books. I will probably work half the night on one page trying to get it just right! Thank you for saying I am a great grandma. I love the job. Just wish I had more opportunities to be with Cady.
