Welcome friends, to Currently 11.2020. I am linking up with Anne to examine what we are appreciating, ordering, perfecting, planning, and wearing. I hope you’ll join in with us.
Currently 11.2020
If I were to be totally honest, I am currently not doing much of anything. Our number of positive Covid cases increased by 3,100 in the last 24 hours. The mayor and county judge are fighting about whether the city should shut down completely or not. And in the meantime, citizens don’t know what is open or closed, where they can and cannot go. So this girl is staying her behind right here at home.
Let’s see what I am up to within these four walls.
Appreciating…
the medical personnel at the Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus for taking good care of me this week. One of my parathyroid nodules was removed on Tuesday. And I being a lazy girl recuperating at home.
Ordering…
a Duke’s mixture of things from clothing to footwear to things for the house. Have seen so many cute fall OOTD featuring warm sweaters, scarves, jeans and duck boots. Decided I had to have some. Scored these Olivia Miller ‘Been Around the World’ (but I haven’t) duck boots for less than $25 and free shipping at DSW. While I was at it, ordered these Abella Chloe booties to replace my old black booties with the suede rubbing off.
Treated myself to a new brown bag. Wanted something with brown and black tones. Picked up this Bag Wizard croc embossed faux leather purse on Amazon. I love it!! While it isn’t at all heavy, it feels substantial. Does that make sense? And right now there is a coupon for 5% off the price.
We have frozen our gym memberships until February. And I have been contemplating getting a treadmill and a stepper so we can exercise at home. These pieces would almost be paid for in the money we are saving by not making our gym payments for 3 months.
Perfecting…
my God Made Girl painting. Finished her up on Monday by adding the words, some snowflakes and glitter. Can you tell what I have written around my angel’s silhouette?

It reads, “some angels have crooked wings.”
Planning…
the photos I will be taking and sharing for our #25DaysOfGratitude autumn photo challenge. Would love to have you join us by posting photos to represent these prompts. The challenge is open until 11.25.2020. I will be sharing my posts daily on Instagram and in a compilation here on the blog on 11.30.2020.
Also beginning to plan for Thanksgiving. My sister and brother-in-law are coming!! Looking forward to having some fun with them hiking, soaking in the hot tub, visiting the local vineyards and maybe heading up to the mountains of New Mexico for a day.
Need to get my canceled trip to see Brennyn and Cady and Mustafa back on the calendar now that my surgery is behind us. Will be going to see Mom and Paul’s mom in December.
Wearing…
an ice bag tied around my neck like a feed sack. Trying to keep the swelling down on my incision and entire neck.
PC is working from home this week to be with me. So grateful.
Autumn Goals Update
- Finish fall housecleaning – having company for Thanksgiving and want the house spic and span. Also organizing, cleaning and purging stuff in our closets and garage. – PENDING = but underway.
- Give myself some grace – here’s how this looks to me…allowing myself afternoons to craft, or to read, to take an occasional cat nap with the kitties, to not run through my day trying to cross off everything on my to-do list. Not sure how that can be made measurable. But I need to permit myself to enjoy a slower pace some days. –
Will need to do this even more so as I recuperate. Have been reading, writing, walking and just trying to enjoy life.
- Complete the 40 Days Through the Bible study – started this several weeks ago and it is so good. The study is so well organized and includes a strong Facebook component that keeps participants engaged. –
I am working through the last week of this study. It has been excellent but my attention has wavered some in the last week or so.
- Participate in the #25DaysofGratitude photo challenge – yes, going to make this a goal!!
Have shared 4 photos so far.
Your Turn
How would your respond to the Currently 11.2020 prompts? What are you appreciating, ordering, perfecting, planning, wearing? And how are you progressing on your autumn goals. Let me know in a comment below. Love to hear from YOU!!
Hope to feel like writing some more posts the end of this week and over the weekend. And to catch up on my blog reading. Not able to do much more for two weeks.
Thank you for visiting. Hope you have something fun planned for this weekend. Some way of unwinding and putting all the crazy that has been this year behind you.
Hugs and kisses,
I think I’m going to start doing the photo prompts you’re doing. Maybe it’ll give me the push I need to put makeup on and find some time to look pretty… Especially on these days where I have extra time. Definitely take time for yourself. Rest and get better. I love you.
YES YES YES come do any and all photo prompts, challenges, what have you!! I would love it!! I love you, my baby girl.
I’m sorry to hear about the increase in COVID cases in your region. Stay home and stay safe. I hope things get better for you.
xoxo

We went into lockdown again today 🙁 so I am anticipating doing a lot of online ordering of Christmas presents in the next few weeks! Am enjoying posting my 25 Days of Gratitude photos, and liking the fact that doing this is making me blog more often – can’t get more often than once a day can you?!
Pleased to see you are home recuperating after successful surgery, and hope you can soon swap that ice pack for a pretty scarf around your neck!
Ooh, nice boots and handbag! Hope your recovery goes well.
You have lots to look forward to with family time. Stay safe and recover quickly.
I think I heard this morning yesterday was a very high number of COVID cases yesterday for the entire country. Looks like you’re doing pretty good after your procedure. Sounds like you’ve got some great plans for Thanksgiving.
I laughed at the ordering. With nowhere to go and our planned move, I am not ordering any new clothing this fall, nor any household things. So the only ordering is books! That said, I am appreciating slowing down and reading many of those books. I’m into a romance series right now – light-hearted and I know it will end up happy. [I enjoyed the women/dress book this month as well!] It’s nice to see you have plans… we are still hunkering down. Cases here are increasing daily and I worry what the poll voting this week will have done to community spread. Thanksgiving will just be hubby and me…but I do plan on making a turkey and some sides since a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is one of my favorite meals!
So glad you are reading with us. I enjoyed Nine Women, One Dress, too. Just wish we could see a picture of the dress!!!
Glad you are going to do Thanksgiving up right even if it is just the two of you.
I am ordering new uniforms and school gear for Alec, ordering some clothes for me just for fun, and ordering a few Christmas gifs still as well as crafts to make gifts. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Hope you are feeling better and stronger this week as I am. Still a little choky where my incision is. Have begun driving and helping with the babies. Hope it hasn’t been too much too soon.
I’m glad your procedure went well, and I hope that you are feeling better soon! That has to be all sorts of uncomfortable.
COVID cases are rising around me too; so far, things are still open but I don’t know what’s going to happen.

I’m glad to hear your surgery went well.
Those boots are so cute! I started shopping at DSW about a year ago and I’m obsessed! They have so many cute shoes, I love that store.
Isn’t DSW dreamy? Something for every occasion and every foot!!
The increase in cases sounds scary – I hope it gets safer for you soon! Have a speedy recovery too – it sounds like it’s good timing for you as you can rest at home and recover 🙂
Hope that you have a great weekend ahead 🙂
Feeling pretty good two weeks outside surgery. Our cases continue to mount. Will this virus ever go away?
I’m happy to hear your surgery went well, Leslie, and that you are taking it easy. We are in a similar COVID situation here in Utah, with nearly 3,000 new cases announced yesterday. Now we are expecting a winter storm this weekend. I’ll definitely be hunkering down. Take care of yourself. We will get through this. XOXO
Did your winter storm materialize? Hope you had lots to read and good food and drink to snack on.
We had one day last week with 3,000 cases here in El Paso alone. Just mind boggling. My daughter told me today that El Paso has more cases than Dallas and Houston together. And we have a population of 800,000 to their combined population of something like 7 million. Exhausting.
Have begun doing more now that I am 2 weeks out from my surgery. Thankful for our beautiful warm days.
Leslie I certainly feel for my blogging friends who are still dealing with such high covid numbers. I feel a little guilty for how good we have it here in Australia. Getting together with my family at a restaurant for my birthday lunch on the weekend was so lovely – and even more so because I know it’s such a privilege.
Glad to hear you’re recovering well from your surgery and I bet you’re happy to be home and away from the hospital. I hope your recovery is a speedy one x
Taking time to recover isn’t lazy! It’s giving your body time to heal and it doesn’t look like you are being lazy to me! The high school here had 24 positive cases, but had to quarantine 130 students and 30 teachers because of it. So, they just shut down the entire school until after Thanksgiving break. My sons test came back negative though. Thank goodness.
We are planning for the Thanksgiving time too. We are taking my grandpa to my sisters house for the first time ever! I am excited. My nieces birthday is that weekend too and we are going to the Zoo lights. i can scratch the zoo trip off of my fall list finally!
I hope you continue to do well with your recovery!
So glad your surgery went well. I hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving with your family.
Hi Leslie!
Thinking of you and hoping you are resting and recouping from your parathyroid surgery. My hubby had that surgery about 3 yrs ago and has more energy! Take things at your own pace! Sounds lovely your Thanksgiving plans, my sis and niece, who live in Charlotte are coming too.
Take care
Jess xx
