Happy Monday, my friends!
Linking-up with Becky at Choose Happy for another round of Currently, to share what we’re up to lately. Today was my first day of spring break. Oh, yeah, baby! I got so many little things done. Such a great, great day. As much as I love working, and if you have been following along here for awhile, you know I do…but as much as I love working in the library, I was ready for some down time.
Here’s what I am doing with that down time currently.
Basking. I am basking in the glow of a wonderful weekend escape with my Prince. It is a rare Saturday between March and October that PC isn’t playing baseball. When last Saturday’s game was canceled mid-week, we started wondering what we would do in its place over the weekend. I suggested we drive out to Phoenix to catch a Cincinnati Reds spring training game. And my hubby thought that was a winning idea.
Arizona is beautiful. If I didn’t love El Paso, Texas so much, I might, might consider making the Phoenix or Tucson area my home. If PC agreed, of course.
Crazy rock formations outside of Tucson.
We drove straight to Goodyear Stadium and watched the Reds play the Giants (and lose). I almost got clobbered by a foul ball but my PC saved me.
Took in two games, time in the pool and hot tub, worked out in the gym, lounged in our room, read, talked and listened.
Finishing. Finishing up a lot of projects. Yay, me. A blackboard project for recording my blog/life goals each month.
Bought a wooden letter ‘C’ to put on the board but have really struggled to get just the right color of green to match my bedroom.
I think I finally got the right colors mixed up today. You can see a pillow from our bed in the middle picture that I was trying to match. I absolutely have to get a camera…look how blurry the center picture is. Pictures of the finished product coming up soon.
I made and shared a message board in a post in June, take a peek, here. I am happy to report that PC and I use it to leave kind notes for each other regularly. When we cleaned the glass to leave a new message, the scrapbook paper beneath the glass became stained. So, I have replaced it with fresh paper that I laminated in order to protect it in the future.
Drowning. Struggling to keep my head above water with the piles of clothes to be washed and ironed. In early fall, just as I began working again, we lost our wonderful cleaning and ironing lady, Liliana. PC has offered over and over to pay for another cleaning lady but I feel like I should be doing the house and ironing the clothes since I am only working part-time. But, heavens, the laundry and ironing are whooping my butt! Sunday is laundry day and Monday night during the Bachelor is my preferred time to iron. Today, since I was off work, I got all of the laundry washed, dried and folded and almost all of the ironing done, too. I counted 67+ pieces ironed over the past couple of weeks.
These two ladies were very helpful. Thank you, Purrsnickitty and Purrsimmony!
Fixing. As in 21 Day Fix-ing. I bought the Beachbody kit or package with the little containers, workout DVDs, and a package of Shakeology protein shake mix about a month ago. But didn’t really get started trying to follow the meal plan and exercise routines until last week. And then we went on our little adventure so I haven’t really followed the program to the letter. This week I am committed to trying harder.
We had to take our measurements. No bueno. And weigh-in, of course. We are drinking lots of water, prepping our food for the weeks and eating a diet heavy on protein, veggies and fruit. Just good food. I feel healthier. And hope to look fitter very soon.
So, friends, that’s what’s going on in my corner of the world. What’s going on in your life? What’s something you are working on right now? Please, please leave me a comment below. Are you reading a good book? Doing a phenomenal craft project? Spring cleaning? Starting a new workout or fitness program? Would love to hear about it.
Thank you so much for following along on my journey with me.
Hugs and kisses,
Shaunacey

We had such a good trip. And I don’t know where the spring break week has gone. The goals board isn’t finished, my elephant art isn’t finished, no scrapbooking done. Ugh. My Prince is having some health probs and I spent a lot of yesterday with him at the doctor. Today I worked all day on a presentation I will be giving at the state library conference in April. I got very nervous about that presentation today and have spent hours working on it! Tomorrow I will, will, will finish up some craft stuff and then link up with you on Sunday/Monday. Thank you, sweets!

You two are so cute together. How far is AZ from you? I’m working on maybe doing a St. Patty’s Day craft for Baby Fox’s preschool, not sure what to do though, any ideas?

It is a six hour drive to Phoenix from El Paso, really a do-able day’s drive. Love going out there. I will keep my eyes open for a cute St. Pat’s craft. That one is tough to me because the kids don’t know what that holiday is about and it is so hard to explain to the little ones. Kind of just like it’s a day to wear green!!!
