Hey fashionistas!
So glad you are here.
It has been awhile since I did a post from My Fashion Haus.
I decided, from my bed this morning where I am all snorked up with allergies, that today is the day. Might not get dressed in much today but I am going to share what I have been wearing lately to work.
Our weather has just recently really turned fall-ish. In fact, last night and the night before our temps dropped into the thirties which is more like winter! But we are having beautiful, sunny, warm afternoons.
It is a great time of year to get dressed in El Paso. This outfit was one of the fall challenge combinations. My orange pullover was a Loft Outlet purchase from last year, Loft boyfriends, Walmart leopard flats, Charming Charlie necklace.
Nothing really special about this outfit, but it was comfy and I liked the orange and darker wash denim together. Also like the way laying down on the little sofa at the foot of my bed makes my face look. Takes a couple of years off, I think. Instant face lift.
Up next, another simple look. Waterfall (or cascade? which is it?) cardi from StitchFix, white blouse from Walmart, Loft black straight leg jeans, Kohl’s necklace and Belk faux riding boots (the only thing I am riding is my Nissan Altima).
Would not have paired brown boots with black pants…EVER if Alison Lumbatis hadn’t given me permission to break that brown-black rule. You know the one, brown boots with brown pants, black boots with black.
This outfit is a little deal I put together all by myself.

(What in the world does that even mean?)
Aztec-patterned wrap from Marshall’s, beige-y, long-sleeved tee from Loft, curvy, skinny jeans from Loft, Kohl’s black “suede” (as in no cows killed) booties, faux ladder necklace from Emma Stine.
I give you…Leslie dressing herself…
What a big girl I am!
This next ensemble made quite a stir at the gym. I call it Leslie Does the Gym.
Many of the major workout labels are represented. Nike running shorts, paired with an Under Armour slub tee, New Balance running tennies in gray and underneath it all, this fabulous black waist, hip and thigh wrap.
Leslie does the gym in the sense of goes to the gym.
In no way to be confused with does in any sense of that word.
Up next is one of my favorite outfits. You can probably tell by that ear-to-ear grin that screams “I think I look great today!” whether I really do or not. But hey, having (a little) self-confidence is a good think thing, right?
I think there’s something about these colors that make this a fav. Love the rusty orange with the dusty blue. Oh, so poetic. Loft cords, Loft boyfriend cardi, Target floral blouse, can’t remember what on my feet, and a buttery Miche bag.
I wear my slightly askew glasses just for driving. Saw my reflection in the rear-view mirror and thought to myself, “Not bad, old lady!” and snapped that picture. Then took a close-up of the colors so you could enjoy them in natural lighting from the driver’s seat of my car. How’s that for a multi-tasking mama? Really not sure why I love this outfit so much but I do. Even the seat belt and my school district ID badge complement it.
Wore this Target camo tee with the Target cargo vest and Macy’s denim skirt to school. Added Charming Charlie pearls (the kind that have never met an oyster), strictly vegan clothing for me.
Love my new black flats from DSW. I am having footsie problems (have had trouble for years with my right big toe – petty sounding, I know). These shoes are almost as comfy as going barefoot and more attractive.
I recreated this next outfit after seeing something similar at Loft Outlet. They paired this pink tee with a long, brown duster that was just too pricey for my substitute librarian’s budget. So I dug around and discovered a similar, shorter, cheaper version of the great duster just hanging there in my closet gathering dust. We can call that a duster, too, right? Paired it with brown, make that mauve skinnies (my skinnies are never real skinny), the pink tee are both Loft Outlet, Charming Charlie’s oyster-free pearls, gray Payless booties.
The following outfit was one I wore to work earlier this week. I wasn’t too sure about belting the blouse. But it seemed too big and shapeless without a belt. I am between a medium and a large in most tops. I feel like a medium smothers and overly confines the “girls” but a large often looks…too large? I need a medium large or a large medium. The reddish jeans are…ding, ding, ding…you guessed it…Loft Outlet. Old Navy blouse, Loft Outlet blue cardi, barefoot black flats, Old Navy statement necklace.
My sweet PC saw me struggling to take pictures on this particular morning and came to my rescue from the shower. Up to his usual high-jinx, snapping about 900 photos of me until I realized (you would think I would get a clue – he’s been doing this how long???) what he was up to.
Quite the maniacal look.
And with that, I will wind things up. Probably more of my fashion than anyone would care to see in one sitting or one season! But now I can link-up with all of my truly fashionable blogger buddies for their great fashion posts this week.
Will leave you with one parting shot.
PC’s Posing Princess.
Probably the best photo of all.
Something very Pablo Picasso-esque about it.

So sweet! I am having fun getting dressed up for work. And now that I am ironing my own clothes again (boo hoo), I am putting more thought into what I wear and when. But kinda enjoying the ironing.
Sharon
I’ll send you my ironing! 🙂

LOVE both of your pearl necklaces, so perfect on such a pretty and classy lady as yourself xo
Leslie Roberts Clingan
YOU say the sweetest things. I got in trouble in college for wearing pearls and heels as an art major. Ha! Guess I wasn’t meant to be an artist but I feel certain librarians definitely do pearls!

Bahahha, Picasso. YOu funny! I love, love, love that aztec cardi on you. Beautiful!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Deena! The Aztec cardi was a kind of impulsive buy at our new Marshall’s up the street. I actually bought it to wear with a black faux leather skirt. Maybe for date night this weekend.

I’m not sure, I feel a bit burned out on the challenges. But I would miss all my challenge friends! What about you?
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I haven’t signed up yet for the winter challenge and really hadn’t planned to do it but might wind up giving in. I just like to get the shopping list and see the outfits!! Still haven’t purchased all of the items on the fall list but keeping my eyes open for them on sale. Let me know what you decide.
