Good Thursday morn to you!
Here we are again! Another post. Must be a full moon or something. One thing for sure, it’s the first Thursday of the month which means it is time for Sentence a Day, 05.2018. I really slipped on my sentence writing last month. There were days when I was just too dawg tard (dog tired) to write a sentence. And not doing much better so far this month. But I want to get my act together because it’s always fun to see all that has happened, to remember the special moments and to celebrate the little milestones and triumphs. And I’m always glad to have you join me for this and all my other posts!!

I’ve been doing these Sentence a Day posts for quite some time. Originally through some of the TBB gals. But it is Rebecca Jo at Knit by God’s Hand who actually dreamed up this series. Sadly, Rebecca Jo lost her father suddenly toward the middle of May. Hope you will join me in thinking a good thought and sending up a prayer for this sweet lady and her family.
Your Turn
How did you fare in May? Good month, bad month or somewhere in-between? If you have a Sentence a Day, 05.2018 post, please link up with us!
We have one more out of town trip in the near future and then I am going to park myself at home and not going to budge. I have been so off my routine. And I miss it. Spring cleaning may never get finished!
Off to walk with my Prince before bed.
Hugs and kisses,
Natalie
You’ve had a full May, accomplishing a lot and traveling, too. I hope you feel much better by now, Leslie. Thanks for organizing the SaD link-up again. Have a peaceful and enjoyable June!
Nancy Baten
That is a werd month! A bit of swinging between happiness and stress. I hope that pool conflict will be solved! Thanks for organizing and have a great weekend!
Debs
What a busy, mixed month you had – you’ve gone through every emotion in the book! Let’s hope that June is more carefree and relaxing.
Gail
Tumultuous is how I would describe your month. You have a lovely breezy style, I fear I am too long-winded and lose everyone in my SAD posts! Thanks for organizing! x
Whitney @ Whitney à la mode
I’m always so impressed with how much activity and productivity you fit into every month and season. I feel like my daily sentences would be way boring. Haha. And those wedding pictures are gorgeous!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Would love to have you join us for a Sentence a Day post. I bet you would be surprised at the kinds of day to day things you do that we would all love to read about. Especially now that wedding plans are underway!
Was thinking of you today, leaving the teaching profession, at least for now. It is such a tough career. Even with summer vacation and seasonal breaks, and Christmas holidays. And the work day extends so many hours beyond that dismissal bell. But I know you were a wonderful teacher. Hope you can find something new to do that will allow you to interact with people/children. You are such a dear.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
P.S. Thank you for the kind words about my bride/daughters. I am so proud of them!
Jodie
I can’t imagine all that you are going through Leslie. With the pool thing (which adds so much stress and negativity) to your daughter’s tests and such. It’s amazing that you keep up anything. As for it taking 2 months to clean your house, I just want to say, I consider that good. I hardly clean at all anymore. And no, I don’t have a housekeeper. I just kinda gave up caring…..that’s why we meet friends out at restaurants…ha ha!!
XOXO

Thank you for making me giggle!! We really hardly socialize, certainly not at home because I am so paranoid about the house. And so uncomfortable entertaining. But we are going to have cookout for PC’s baseball team and their families (shiver me timbers)! I need to psych myself up for this. Hopefully, we can keep it pretty basic and I will feel comfortable with my hostess duties.
My oldest daughter’s wedding celebration…3 days of Afghani festivities…next week in Ft. Worth. Once that is behind me, it will be a huge weight off my shoulders. I haven’t been able to financially help my daughter and her husband much with this but have done what I could from 600 miles away and limited resources. We are hopeful that the pool builder is going to finally do something about our pool and my younger daughter’s health seems to be stabilized for now, as we try to get the doctors to settle on one diagnosis or another. I hope by next SaD post, I have lots of good days to share.
Christie Hawkes
I always loving reading your sentence a day posts, Leslie. It gives me a little peek into your daily life and makes me feel like I know you. I hope your daughter is well and your pool is made right!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Christie. This is one of my favorite series because it serves to remind me of big and little milestones each month. It’s so easy to only remember the troubles. We are hopeful that Lauren is getting good medical care and that we are getting to the bottom of her health issues. Just hope to get the doctors to decide on which of two diagnoses are correct.
Even with all of the issues with our pool, we are at least able to swim in it. And I knocked out a mile swim yesterday and today.

What a busy month for you! Putting money in parking meters? What a good idea!!
Sending healing prayers up for your daughter.
I want to eat that little Lucia up. Not literally, because eating babies is frowned upon… But oh my word is she a cutie!!!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you for your prayers for Lauren and sweet words about my tasty Lucia. She is just right for nibbling on. Even if doing so is frowned upon!! Lauren has been busy this week potty training her and we have discovered just how stubborn a two-year-old can be! But as of today, she even went ‘potty’ like a big girl at daycare so I think they’ve about got it made.
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side
Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you are still dealing with that pool stuff! I really hope they just make it right, some people…grrr!!! And so happy you could be there for your daughter during this time, I hope they find answers! Your granddaughter is just the cutest!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hey love, you are so sweet to worry that your comment didn’t come through and to send it in an email, too! Big hugs for that. I don’t know why, but I am having some email/comment issues. My BFF has commented and commented and none of her comments come through. I hired someone to see if somehow her comments are blocked but the IT guy couldn’t find anything wrong on my blog’s end. Very frustrating.
This pool stuff has made me bananas. Turned our lawyer in to the Texas Legal Board today. And called to try to get someone to help us with our faulty electrical wiring too. It is an everyday worry.
Thank you for the sweet words about Lauren and Lucia. We are all going to Ft. Worth this week for my oldest daughter’s wedding celebration so we will be together again. Lucia reminds me of your Mini in that she is quite dramatic and all girl!
Terri Webster Schrandt
I always enjoy your SAD posts, Leslie, you were indeed supremely busy in May! I would have reacted the same way about your pool, too, and I hope it can get resolved soon! I haven’t read June’s yet so?? My teaching schedule all last semester with a brand new class and new curriculum took me out of blogging for a few months, but I’m back, but really only doing photo challenges. I’m always surprised at how much I can write about images for challenges. Of course you know by now I am hosting Sunday Stills photo challenge and hope you can join us when possible! It has a link-up too. I’m also using this summer to hopefully finish my book called “No Excuses Fitness” and it might be right up your alley (as a pre-reader)! I’m always happy when other busy women make time for exercise every day, like you!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Would love to pre-read your “No Excuses Fitness” book. Sounds like something I would enjoy. So in envy that you are a published author. And such a wonderful photographer, too.
I created a graphic for the summer Insta photo challenge. I am so tickled that you remembered it from last year and were anxious to do it again this year. Will send it out this week. Will join your Sunday Stills, too! In fact, let me go by right now to see if the new prompt is out!!
