On this dreary second day of the year, I was lazy all morning long. Actually, I worked on blog posts and my second day of the FOCUSed15 Bible study, did some laundry and made some homemade taco soup. But I was in my lazy pants or as my daughter Lauren’s husband Francisco once called them, LACY PANTS, most of the morning.
When I showered and got ready to dress I decided to make today’s OOTD a Pinspired one.
I have indulged and over-indulged in too many holiday goodies so now all of my clothes are fitting a bit too snugly. I tried on a couple of Pinspired looks before deciding on one that was a kinder fit over my cookies and pumpkin pie.
Here’s what I came up with – have a look:
Somehow I rated some pretty fabulous Christmas presents and I am wearing a few of my favs in this outfit.
I found FRYE boots under the tree from my sweet husband. I have always been on a Payless budget when it comes to footwear. But Paul really likes to buy boots for me and when he does, he buys good ones! These boots are the prettiest combination of a dark, almost black-brown and a warmer brown. And they are LEATHER! My tootsies smile in them.
I am wearing Loft curvy skinny jeans in a dark wash. I tried all kinds of tricks to get my pants to tuck cooperatively into my boots. I cuffed my pants twice, tucked the legs into boot socks and then fastened some Hollywood boot straps around the upper calf of each leg. I think in the case of my skinny jeans, the holiday pounds helped to stretch them tighter and so they fit into my boots a bit more smoothly.
I am wearing a Dress Barn white, long sleeved tee and a Dress Barn military jacket. Love the drawstring at the waist to help give the illusion that I do still have a waist!!
My youngest daughter Lauren gave me (faux) fur for Christmas…scarves and head wraps in two different fur looks from Target. I like this scarf because it has several colors in the fur. I was excited about our wintery weather today because I truly needed my scarf to stay warm.
My gold hoop earrings were a Christmas gift from my oldest daughter Brennyn. They are kind of braided or twisted double hoops from Charming Charlie’s. I am just getting used to wearing larger earrings; liked the way these showed up against my scarf and hair.
I felt like a fancy lady from head-to-toe, thanks to my loving family. Check out some other Pin-spired looks from the link-up on Sheaffer’s blog, Pinterest Told Me To.
On another note, next week, the Style Me Bloggers will be starting a new series with lots of fun themes for our upcoming link-up posts. Deena at From Shoes to Shiraz has created the snazzy graphic below for our link-ups. The group kind of brainstormed ideas that we were interested in blogging about and Deena compiled them for us, providing a kind of broad description for the different posts. Each blogger will be free to interpret the theme as she likes so things could get pretty creative and fun.
Hope you will join us on Friday, January 9, for the big kick-off.
Wishing you a warm first weekend of the new year.
Hugs and sticky kisses,
Katie

Hey BFF!! I know you were super busy this weekend with Miss E but thank you for coming by! I have gotten excited about getting dressed – who knew? But this year I want to do more on the blog than just featuring pictures of me in some outfit. Would you guest blog with me? Hope you will consider it. We could write a blog post about clothes, about being a Minnie/Mimi, about our friendship. Think about it! Have a great week. Love YOU.
