Shutterbugs and Photography Friends, welcome to a very belated World Through My Lens, 12.2019. The photos below were taken during December for the 2 photography challenges in which I participated last year. One challenge is the Sunday Stills series hosted by Terri at Second Wind Leisure Perspectives. And the other was The Everyday Eye Candy Project 52 with LaShawn at Everyday Eye Candy on Facebook and her blog, Everyday Eye Candy. Before we get started today, you can visit last month’s World Through My Lens post, here.
WORLD THROUGH MY LENS 12.2019
Had this post almost put together days ago but just didn’t click on publish! For some reason, I like to share these photography posts on Sundays. When I missed publishing the first, second, and third Sundays of January, I had to wait til today to have this go live. I think that’s the OCD in me!
WORLD THROUGH MY LENS WEEK 49
EVERYDAY EYECANDY PROJECT 52, WEEK 49: ‘Tis the Season
This beautiful ornament was part of the Christmas decor at the Troy Hayner Cultural Center in Tipp City, Ohio. Appreciated my SIL and friend, Greta, taking me to see this old home decked out in its holiday splendor.
SUNDAY STILLS, 12.01.2019: December Chill
How cute is this snow bunny in her brand new shearling jacket? We had such a fun day in Ruidoso, New Mexico that culminated with playing in the snow.
World Through My Lens Week 50
Everyday Eyecandy Project 52, Week 50: O, Christmas Tree
Took this shot as Brennyn, Mustafa, Cady and my Prince walked over to the little hill where we slid/sledded in Ruidoso by moonlight before heading for home.
Our last stop for the day was the Inn of the Mountain Gods, where they had this lovely Christmas tree on display.
Sunday Stills, 12.08.2019: Peace
My sweet baby Cia taken with the camera on her monitor. A live wire when she is awake, but so at peace in her sleep. The kitty she is holding is a stuffed look-alike of her beloved Dee-Dee or Doughnut who died last summer.
World Through My Lens Week 51
Everyday Eyecandy Project 52, Week 51: All of the Lights
Thought this photo turned out more interesting than I intended! I was trying to photograph the lit trees between the fence rails at the very impressively decorated home of Fred Loya, local celeb. But the rails on the fence kept getting in the way. Seeing the photo now, the fence posts made the photo more interesting!
Sunday Stills, 12.15.2019: Holiday Decor
I liked our mantel best of all our holiday decor. The painting is one that PC bought me for an early birthday one year. It reminded us both of the Smoky Mountains of my childhood Tennessee home. The reindeer and swag remind me of the mountains, too.
World Through My Lens Week 52
Everyday Eyecandy Project 52, Week 52: You at the End
At the Sun Bowl game, 12.31.2019 with my PC. Growing out my gray hair and you can sure see that here.
Sunday Stills, 12.22.2019: Something Red or Green or Both
Purrsnickitty loves Christmas. Or, at least the tree. I think she thinks we set it up for her entertainment. Kind of like a little seasonal park in our living room.
Your Turn
This year, I am continuing to participate in the Sunday Stills photo challenge. Considered joining another photo challenge called Capture 52 but came across it a little late, 4 weeks after it had begun. Submitted each of my pictures to Capture 52 for the prompts so far in order to get caught up. But there seems to be a rule about just adding photos to the thread for each week’s prompt. And I already broke it!! This might not be the challenge for me.
Checking over the photos from your December, would you have one for each of the prompts above? If you are looking for a fun, laid back challenge for the new year, check out Terri’s Sunday Stills, here. Then join me by sharing on your blog the great photos you capture. On Sundays, of course.
Thank you for coming by, friends! Can you believe we have zipped through January already? Just plain craziness right there. My PC started baseball this weekend. Our temps were close to 70* both days. Revealed my winter bucket list last week and it’s feeling like spring this week! Have a good week, girlsies.
Hugs and kisses,
Nancy
That decoration is fabulous! What a beautiful colors. Love the show photo too and the last one! Have a great day!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Nancy. The cultural center had a room entirely decorated with peacock-themed ornaments. Oh, the colors!!
Deb
Such lovely photos, I have to say that although the colourful ones are beautiful, my favourite is the black and white photo of the Christmas tree in the snow with your family in the background – that’s a true ‘capturing a memory’ photo.
Dara
Love the lights through the fence! I’m still doing 52 Frames but I may be getting a little burnt out now.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
52 Frames was a challenge for me. I enjoyed it but didn’t feel like I ever got anything back from participating. Kind of one sided. Your photography is stellar. Come try Sunday Stills!!
Amy Johnson
How wonderful that your granddaughter got to experience some snow. Such a pretty girl. I love the cat under the Christmas Tree picture. My cat does the same thing. I love how kitties love Christmas.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Kitties know magical seasons, don’t they!! I think Purrsnickity goes into a slight depression when the tree is put away in January. Poor girl.
Thank you for the kind words about my Cadence! She loved the snow.
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
Aww, she is so cute in that white coat and I love that there is snow around her! A little snow bunny! Your cat is so cute and is that her name? Love it!

Thank you, Carrie. Our kitty’s name is Purrsnickitty. And she certainly is!!
Kimberly F. Malkiewicz
I enjoyed your catch up photos. It looks like had such an enjoyable time over the holidays. Your snow bunny and sleeping “live wire” are precious! Gosh, I know what you mean about joining late. I went to check into signing up for a sewing class yesterday and many of them started in Jan. It makes sense, I guess, but still! Haha! One is starting at the end of Feb. I’m considering going to.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Yay for taking a sewing class. I have tried to learn to sew but it just isn’t in the cards. Might be a great way to make some new friends.
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side
Aww, I love that you did this. I always say I am going to do it, then fall off the wagon a couple of months in. Good job! I like the kitty picture the best.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Aww, thanks for coming by, darling friend. I enjoy taking pics and doing this photo series. You can try it out!! Do a Sunday Stills month and see what you think. Prompts are here – https://secondwindleisure.com/photography/sunday-stills-photo-challenge/

Such great pictures. I always enjoy seeing the pictures of your little people. They’re so adorable. And Christmas pictures are always so much fun.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Christmas is such a good time for pictures. I am always hopeful for snow because there is nothing prettier but alas, this year we’ve seen nary a flake.
Rebecca Jo Vincent
I want one of those white fluffy jackets myself – perfect for a snow bunny 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, RebeccaJo!!
Joanne Tracey
I always enjoy your World Through My Lens & this instalment wasn’t any different. So much colour, joy and some seasonal fun.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!! That is such a sweet compliment coming from someone who captures our world so perfectly through her own camera lens.
Terri Webster Schrandt
You have a knack with the camera (or phone) and you always have wonderful images to share for these challenges, Leslie! Your little Cia looks peaceful and it is such a sweet image. Christmas is such a fun holiday for taking spectacular pictures. Your mantel is lovely! Thanks for including these in Sunday Stills!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you for stopping by, Terri. Hope you will continue Sunday Stills for a long time to come. I sure enjoy trying to take photos for the prompts you provide.
Donna Connolly
Hi, Leslie – These shots are fantastic and make me miss Christmas already! LOVE your snowbunny – she’s absolutely gorgeous!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you. I like fiddling with photography!
So proud of my little snow bunny. She is a cutie pie but she is also just sweet as sugar.
Dee | Grammy's Grid
Love the pics of the Inn’s tree and your precious grandbabies!! Good for you for letting the gray grow out. My hi-lights and lo-lights have finally grown out and my gray is showing all of its glory!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I don’t know if I will ever get all of the color grown out. It is sure a slow process. We should both update our profile pics with our new looks.
Dee | Grammy's Grid
Well my stylist goofed when trying to blend in gray, ended up purple! So I got upset and cut it all off except for the gray. Everyone complimented the short style but I have let it grow out, don’t like short hair on myself. There are stylists that can blend it in perfectly though. Mine never wanted me to go gray to begin with. Told me it would make me look old and washed out. However, I get compliments from strangers when I am out in public with my all natural gray (salt and pepper). Truth be told, my stylist didn’t want to lose that fee I was paying her every 4 to 6 weeks for coloring my hair at over $100 each time!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I bet she didn’t want to lose that color fee you were giving her. I changed stylists when I started growing mine out. Just getting hair cuts now and twiddling my thumbs waiting for the color to grown out.
Dee | Grammy's Grid
Of course she didn’t want to lose that fee 🙂
