Shutterbugs and friends,
Thanks for joining me for the World Through My Lens, 05.2019. Been on a blogging hiatus while I try to get to the bottom of the disturbing security warning that pops up when someone tries to access my blog using Google Chrome. Still no answers to this issue. Can’t find anyone to help me. But if you are reading this, I want to reassure you that my blog has not been hacked nor are there phishing scams associated with it.
WORLD THROUGH MY LENS, 05.2019
This security warning mess has put me so very behind in all things blog but going to get back in the swing of things with this post. And in reading your blogs this weekend. World Through My Lens, 05.2019 – is a round-up of the photos I took during the month for the 2 photography challenges in which I am participating. There’s the Sunday Stills series hosted by Terri at Second Wind Leisure Perspectives and The Everyday Eye Candy Project 52 with LaShawn at Everyday Eye Candy on Facebook and her blog, Everyday Eye Candy. Here are the prompts for the past month and my interpretations. You can visit previous World Through My Lens posts, here.
WORLD THROUGH MY LENS WEEK 19
SUNDAY STILLS, 05.05.2019: Fifth
I’ve got nothing for this prompt. Except a photo I snapped of a lovely space we passed during our Cinco de Mile/Fifth of May 5k run. We passed this gate but were scurrying to get to the starting line of the race. So, I didn’t take time to snap a picture. But when we passed it a second time, I had to take a little bit of it with me in this snap shot.
EVERYDAY EYECANDY PROJECT 52, WEEK 19: Motherhood
Saw this mama duck teaching her 2 baby ducks how to fish on my pre-baseball game lake walk one Saturday. Being the good mommy she was, mama duck added an element of fun to the life lesson to make it more like a game. I was reminded of the “Five Little Ducks” counting song from my elementary school library days.
WORLD THROUGH MY LENS WEEK 20
SUNDAY STILLS, 05.12.2019: Warmth
On our first hike of the season, we huffed and puffed our way up the Franklin Mountains to Mundy’s Gap. Boy, could I tell that we hadn’t hiked in awhile! We came across several friends on the path, coming out to bathe in the warmth of the sun-baked rocks along the trail.
EVERYDAY EYECANDY PROJECT 52, WEEK 20: The Letter A
On her last visit to my house, Lucia and I rescued a few ‘buggies’ from the hot tub and pool. I would fish the insects out of the water and Lucia would lightly blow on them to help them dry. When the insects would begin crawling or even fly away, we would high five each other…another life saved. I snapped this photo of Lucia inspecting one of our success stories…an ant.
WORLD THROUGH MY LENS WEEK 21
SUNDAY STILLS, 05.19.2019: Playground
My favorite playground playmate, Lucia. We visit the playground in our neighborhood every time she visits Gabba. And I have the arm muscles to show for it! Pushing 32 pounds on the swing is hard work!
EVERYDAY EYECANDY PROJECT 52, WEEK 21: Still Life
As you may know, my blog has been plagued by a security warning when accessed by Google Chrome. I have done everything I know to do to get help to no avail. The problem stems from 3 images that were created by a gal who worked on my blog in 2016. The images link back to her now defunct website. Have tried to remove the links myself with no luck. Have contacted my hosting site, WordPress and several tech support folks…no one has helped.
Anyway, my sister suggested I enjoy some quiet time by the pool each morning. And if we’ve been buds for more than 5 minutes, you know the pool has been a total source of aggravation for me. But I am delighting in breakfast poolside. Here is a still life of one such breakfast.
WORLD THROUGH MY LENS WEEK 22
SUNDAY STILLS, 05.26.2019: Danger
Our Stein Mart closed several months ago and word has it a wine store is going in its place. Apparently it is a dangerous location because this sign appeared on the door. Not sure if the wine bottles are flying off the shelves or the warning refers to the dangers of drinking in general.
EVERYDAY EYECANDY PROJECT 52, WEEK 22: Negative Space
I have grumbled about our crazy winds that have continued long beyond our usual blustery March. Memorial Day weekend was especially windy. This photo was taken through our rain-sprinkled windshield on the way to the Las Cruces (New Mexico) wine fest. One minute we were driving along with the top down on the convertible and the next minute we were battling the wind gusts to stay on the road.
Random Shots
Purrsnickitty sampling the salt water in the spa.
Lucia splashing in the same spa that Snicky was drinking from.
One of the large thistles growing along the trail to Mundy’s Gap.
Your Turn
Are you participating in any photo challenges? What are the common themes of the pictures you snap? A couple of gals I follow signed up for month-long challenges in May. I think my friend, Dara at Not in Jersey, participates in the 52 Frames photography challenge. She takes lovely pictures as does my buddy Daenel at Living Outside the Stacks. Hope you will run by to check out some of their special captures.
Thank you for taking a chance on me by visiting my blog. Praying that just the right person will cross my path any moment to help me resolve this security warning debacle. I appreciate your following me through thin and thinner!
Hugs and kisses,
Deb
You have some great photos here – what a little superstar model Lucia is. She would get on so well with our Leo, he is never happier than rescuing creepy crawlies in the garden!
Is that a little gecko you photographed for ‘warmth’? So cute!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Deb. Wouldn’t Leo and Lucia be a pair? Lauren is thinking of using Leon as the name for new baby if he is a boy. Is Leo a Leonard or Leonardo? Or even a Leon?
Kellyann Rohr
That sweet picture of Lucia looking at the bug is my favorite – how precious! Such beauty.
So I figured out how I can get past the security thing – if I click details and then “back to safety” it gets me in, now I just need to remember that!
I am going to look into taking an online photography course and I need to learn about editing too!
xo,
Kellyann

You are such a dear to find ways to keep visiting my blog despite the error warning. So glad that thing is gone!
I had registered for a photography class this past Saturday but my kitty disappeared just as I was trying to leave and I spent 15 minutes looking for Purrsimmony to no avail. So I was late for the class and had to switch to a different class which was lots of fun but more expensive. Darn, Simmony was in the house the whole time and was waiting for me at the door when I got home.
All this to say, I still need to take a photography class!!

Love the pics!! No, no photo challenges for me 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
So glad you are joining for bucket lists!! Will keep trying to get you to consider a photo challenge!!
Jill
You have so many great shots! Love the sweet pic of your grandaughter inspecting the ant and the photo of your cat drinking the pool water made me smile!

Leslie Roberts Clingan
Sweet Jill, so glad my photos brought you a smile. I am finding that photography is becoming one of my favorite hobbies. Thank you!
Terri Webster Schrandt
Thanks for the shout out for Sunday Stills, and glad you participated, Leslie! How frustrating about your blog! My chrome shows the red warning triangle but I can access your site just fine. Hope you get it resolved soon. I’ve been on a rest from blogging but will get back to it next week. Less than a week from my foot surgery and I’m already bored!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
How are you feeling friend? Has your scooter given you more independence? I was shocked to see you will be in a cast for 4 more weeks. You may have to get really creative with the photos for July’s prompts!!
Nancy Dobbins
I love the photos…and my solution to the dangers of wine is to switch to craft beer!
Have a great week…and I am NOT afraid to visit!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Love craft beer, too!! We have discovered a couple of fun local breweries in past year or two. They are downtown and so in visiting them, we are also rediscovering downtown El Paso.
Thanks for visiting my blog despite the ugly red warning. So glad that thing is now gone!!

What great photos. Loved the one with Lucia blowing on the ant to get it dry. How sweet!
Nice job on all.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
That baby girl is something! I am anxious to spend time with my older granddaughter in July. It has been too long.
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
Lucia has such big and long lashes and I had to crack up over rescuing the bugs from the pool! THat sounds like me as a kid. 🙂 Or, still! 🙂

Awww, I can just imagine you rescuing bugs! Sweet-HEART!

I didn’t have a problem with your site because I use firefox, but I’m glad you fixed the problem! Great photos as always!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!!
Chrissy
I’ve been doing either breakfast or just coffee poolside lately and am enjoying it as well! I’m sorry to hear about your computer problems. That is so aggravating. I have zero patience for tech issues, but I need to grow some b/c they happen frequently! Enjoyed your pictures and hope you have a great rest of the week!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Chrissy, for visiting. I have zero patience for tech troubles and just about everything else. In fact, I am trying to make keeping my patience (first I need to get some patience, before I can keep it!) a goal and priority.
