World Through My Lens 03.2025
Whew, this post has been a long time coming. Got hung up on some of the prompts. As soon as I click on publish for this post, I need to get my bootie busy taking photos for April’s photo prompts.
Everyday Images #58
green: the Easter Bingo cards I bought for family game night. We had hoped to have game night while Brennyn and family were here but we just ran out of hours and days. We are having second Easter with Lauren’s family on the actual holiday, so maybe we will get in a round of Easter Bingo then.
numbers: of the floors on the courthouse elevator. The first day there were so many called for jury duty that the elevators got very bogged down. I wound up climbing the stairs to the 9th floor where my courtroom was located.
clouds: we rarely have clouds in El Paso. We aren’t called the “Sun City” for nothing!! Enjoyed watching the clouds move in over downtown on day during jury duty.
bird: caught this pudgy pigeon peeking out at the downtown cityscape from his perch in a window in the courthouse parking garage.
speckled: the little (faux) eggs in my (faux) bird’s nest are speckled.
at home (monthly): when Brennyn visit we had an early Easter egg hunt and celebration.
Everyday Images #59
travel: since I broke my heel in August, we have only been on a couple of quick road trips. This was the last real traveling we did, coming home from Ohio.

handmade: one of many beautiful El Paso murals.
architecture: I like the angles in the architecture of the El Paso Courthouse and neighboring buildings. And the reflection of the glass windows of the courthouse onto the facade of the building beside it.
gather: all the grandbabies gathered to hunt Easter eggs while Brennyn was visiting, then the 3 littles gathered around the pool to rescue ‘buggies’ from the water, a favorite warm weather activity.
sparkling: the water droplets on the grass were sparkling in the early morning sunlight. The second photo is enhanced with the Prisma app.
doorway (quarterly): I am always so excited when a quirky photo op presents itself and just so happens to match one of the prompts for the photo challenges I enjoy. This yellow doorway is in the middle of a round-about in downtown El Paso. Discovered it on a lunchtime walk while I was on jury duty.
Sunday Stills
03.02.2025 stark: the landscape between Tuscon, Arizona and Lordsburg, New Mexico is often dusty, windblown and stark.
03.09.2025 favorite flowers: I don’t really have a favorite flower although I am partial to pansies (my sorority flower) and wildflowers and poppies. This is a paper sculpture bouquet my sister sent me for my birthday.
03.16.2025 monthly color challenge: shades of green: and purple.
03.23.2025 celebrate spring or autumn: we celebrate spring when we celebrate Easter. And this year, we are celebrating Easter twice. We had Easter Sunday when Brennyn was here the end of March. Then next week we will have our second Easter on the official day.
03.30.2025 walk in the park (National Day calendar prompt): a few weeks ago, I ran by Lauren’s and offered to take my grandpup for a quick walk. I miss having a pup of my own and always enjoyed walking with Cici, Cheyenne and Piggy. Snapped this picture at a park where Pumpkin and I walked.
I am always grateful for the way participating in these photo challenges encourages me to slow down and really look at this big, beautiful world.
Your Turn
I subbed half day for kinder today so I am pooped. Looking forward to 4 whole days home this week. No other subbing jobs, no jury duty. Just home, sweet home.
Thank you for spending some of your busy day here with me. Hope you will join me in visiting Kym at A Fresh Up of Coffee and Terri at Second Wind Leisure Perspectives to check the images they’ve captured for these photo challenges.
Make it a great rest of the week!!
Hugs and kisses,

I loved that big door! But, the photos of your grands are just beautiful. Loved “flipping” through the photos!

Thank you, my friend.
So many great pics. Love the Easter decor.
You did a fabulous job on these! I LOVE your at home monthly photo.
Thank you!! I can’t wait to capture Alaska in my lens next week!!
Leslie, you have a great eye for taking photos. Do many stunning shots of the environment. Having little people around for all these holidays is wonderful and really infuses the joy into it.
Do you enjoy subbing? Do you sub a lot?

Thank you!! That is a real compliment coming from someone who takes beautiful portraits and photos!! I do enjoy the holidays more with the grandbabies around. Their joy is contagious.
I like and dislike subbing. I love kids but often feel like I don’t have great classroom management and tend to like things a little quieter and often more organized than many of the teachers for whom I sub. The paychecks are a real bonus.
There’s a yellow door in the middle of a roundabout? It’s probably a great piece of decor, I’m afraid it would be too distracting! I’d be looking at it and bam! Right into another car. 🙂 Did I read that right, ‘we rarely have clouds in El Paso’? I’m in Seattle and it might take my brain a few days to process that! Love your photos. You are so creative.
Thank you so much for the sweet words. Yes, I was shocked to see that yellow door in the middle of the round about. It was distracting to me and I was on foot. Ha!! Need to avoid that area at all costs in my car.
We really don’t have clouds much at all. El Paso is the “Sun City” and we have something like 325 days of sun a year. I miss seeing pretty, fluffy clouds but I do love our sunshine.
So many beautiful photos! I love the ones of the morning drops of water!
Thank you. Participating in these challenges really forces me to stop and look at the world.
