Hey, sweet potatoes!
Joining up with Becky at Choose Happy again to talk about what we are doing currently. This is such a fun post for me that I have gone from trying to join Becky once a month to hoping to join her link-up party each week. I love the way that putting this post together helps me examine what I have been doing and what I have going on in the very near future.
Here’s what I am doing currently:
I am missing my daughter Lauren. She and Francisco went home today. We had such a nice visit. Didn’t really do anything special – she had to work Monday-Friday, and is still struggling with early pregnancy nausea and exhaustion. But just sitting across the room from her while she worked was a treat! On this evening we were going to the girls’ favorite Mexican restaurant in El Paso, Casita Linda’s. If you look at our fingers on Lauren’s tummy, we are each holding up two to represent her second month of pregnancy. I did that, too.
Apparently, I am 40 months (years?) pregnant. That has to be a record. Call me, Guinness Book of World Records. I will give you the exclusive!
I am waiting for this shirt dress to arrive. Ok, I paid my Loft credit card off on Thursday and on Saturday I stopped by just to check out their Friends and Family 40% Off Everything sale. Just for kicks and grins. Just for somethin’ to do. Just because my BFF told me about their curvy, high-waist, skinny ankle jeans and that they run big and we might be able to wear a ridiculously small size in them. So who could resist running by Loft just to check them out. I loved the jeans. But there was also this adorable shirt dress in a funky, kind of shiny, dark wash denim that I tried on, too. It must have been as big a hit with all of El Paso as it was with me because the store only had a L and a S. I tried on the L and it was too L. So I ordered an M. And bought two pairs of jeans, a 6 and an 8. And a tee. Apparently, I don’t have a peach tee. Or navy. But Loft didn’t have navy either.
Check out my expression in the second picture. It is apparently much harder to try on size 6 jeans. Look at the focus and concentration required. And the effort exerted to suck everything in. Much relieved in the size 8, the fourth picture. As of today, Monday, 8/17, the sale is still on so grab a friend or family member and head to the Loft.
Looking forward to the first day of school tomorrow. Oh, yeah. Going to school! First day! Subbing in the Crosby Elementary School library for my friend Rosa, who is out on maternity leave. Crosby was the last school that I worked in last school year and I am happy to begin this shiny new school year there, too. I am excited to pick out my school outfit for tomorrow, and to pack my lunch. Fun times.
Decided on white on white for today. And wedge heels. Tomorrow tennies and a skirt, I think. The AC wasn’t working in the cafeteria where we met half the day and it was toast-y!
Watching scandalous “Bachelor in Paradise”. Well, I have to watch something until Bachelor or Bachelorette returns. We have watched every episode of all of our Netflix and HBO TV series and there is NOTHING on TV to watch…unless you guys know something I don’t!! If so, spill!!!!

For the blog, I am working on my answers for The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award that I was challenged with by Katie at The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life. Katie tagged a few of the Style Me Bloggers to answer her list of Sisterhood questions and I was one of the lucky gals included.
I love doing stuff like that. Hope to have that blog post up early this week.
And that’s what I am currently up to.
About a week ago that same sweet friend Katie challenged me to share a favorite quote in three consecutive Monday posts. I love quotes. I have a board on Pinterest called ‘Words of Wisdom’ where I have pinned just that…a lot of wise words and clever quotes. You can visit my board here. You may know that I love Anne Frank and feel a real connection with/to her. She was so incredibly wise, wise beyond her years. I could easily share an Anne Frank quote for the rest of the Mondays in the year.
Here is my first one.

I am currently and always thankful that we were given Anne Frank, if only for a very short time.
Currently thinking of a way to improve the world just a little bit for today.
Hugs and kisses,
Sharon
I saw teachers trying that same dress on here! Bet you look great in it. Did your jeans stretch out? I will try my best to finish the now 2 week email tonight. Yikes! 😩

I never thought either of my babies looked much like me but as they get older I see glimpses of myself in both. Brennyn really looks a whole lot like her dad but I think Lauren does look a little like me. Who do people say your babies look like, you or your honey? Hoping to get my denim dress in the mail this weekend so I can wear it this next week to work.

Love your white on white look! I’m also guilty for watching Bachelor in Paradise, it’s so bad but I. can’t. stop.
Katie

Lana
You are so cute Leslie! I may have bought a few things from the Loft sale too – just waiting for them to arrive! Your Anne Frank quote is one of my very favorites!

I just love all things Anne Frank. I know she would have grown to be one powerful woman had she the chance to do so. Was hoping my denim dress would be in the mail today, but no such luck. Maybe tomorrow. Have you received your Loft goodies yet? Will be looking forward to seeing you model them.
