Hey Friends!
Glad you could join me for another edition of Currently, where I link up with Becky at Choose Happy to share what we are doing…yup, you got it…currently. I actually wrote this post yesterday and then when I got ready to publish it, something funky-monkey happened. It was published but wouldn’t allow anyone to make comments and I kept getting an error message when trying to open the page. So I gave up and went to bed.
When I got home from work, I had supper and a glass of wine and then revisited this post. And I think I figured out what happened. We’ll see. If you can leave a comment, please do so and I will know that I did indeed fix the problemas.
Gracias!
Right this moment I am currently just trying to stay awake til bedtime. This working three days a week is whooping up on me. I worked all night long moving books in the library, withdrawing old books, and ordering new books – all from my bed!! Didn’t dream about it because I couldn’t fall asleep. Just thinking about everything I wanted to do, all night long.
And my petite little size 9 1/2 footsies are screaming tonight. I had met my 10,000 steps FitBit goals by shortly after lunch this afternoon. I was ready to just lie down from that point on.
Here’s what else I am up to currently:
Hiking the Franklin Mountains on Sunday. It has probably been two years since PC and I did much hiking. Our assorted surgeries have kind of complicated things in that department. But now that it is cooler outside, and we are both feeling pretty healthy and strong, we have decided to try it again. Sunday we headed up toward Smuggler’s Gap with hopes of making it to the stop as we always have in the past. But after 90 minutes of hiking, we were huffing and puffing on shaky legs.
See that hump in the mountain right in the center of the second and fourth pics? Looks a little like an elephant with his trunk pointing up. That was our destination. We have been up there several times but going to have to work back up to making it all the way up again.
This little fellow was hiking on Sunday, too. Wonder if he made it to his destination?
Triggering our new video camera. During the spring and early summer, we had a feeling that someone was enjoying our hot tub at night while we were asleep. So PC bought a video camera but then life got in the way and we didn’t get it installed. Well, now we have! And we have triggered it ourselves several times. Then the crazy rain and electrical storms we had last week, really played havoc with our camera. We caught a lot of ourselves and the lightning with our camera, but no midnight bathers.
And this just in…
No rain, no lightning, no PC, no me and no midnight bather.
Hmmm!
Weeding the dandelions and crabgrass from the library collection. In the library, we are required to periodically “weed” the old materials in order to highlight and make more room for the new materials. Many librarians use the acronym MUSTY as a guideline for determining which items stay and which go…

So, I have been weeding at Guerrero. Lori, my tag-team partner-in-crime, and I have been weeding old encyclopedias, out-dated magazines, books that haven’t been checked out in years. And then when we are finished weeding, we get to order new items.
Work before pleasure.
Kitty-washing in our shower. I got a wild hair (tee-hee) to give Purrsimmony and Purrsnickitty baths this past weekend. Snick was smelling a little gamey so I decided to give both girls a shower. I got undressed and got in the shower, then PC handed me a kitty. I shampooed and conditioned Simmony, rinsed her off and passed her back out to “dad”. He dried her off and put her on the balcony in the sun. Then he captured Snick and handed her into me where I repeated the washing process. Once she was rinsed off, PC took her onto the balcony with sister, to be towel dried, too. We reenacted the kitty-washing in the pictures below. Left our clothes on just for you. Kitties were not a bit happy to be back in the shower so soon again.
I love how Simmony snuggled up against her “dad” during the reenactment. Such sweet, lovable, clean kitties.
Building my first KEEP. A few weeks ago, my friend and librarian-colleague, Morgan shared a little about a new jewelry collective created by the gals at Stella and Dot, on the blog. Now that’s an awkwardly worded sentence. But you know what I mean, right? You can check out that post here. I waited patiently until payday and then ordered my first KEEP pieces. Well, my order has arrived and I want to share it with you. I am still in the process of designing my piece and as I type this, I am messaging with Morgan to order more bling. But here’s what I have so far.
I bought a blush leather band, and have a mrs. key in silver and the letter C (for Charming) in gold. I have a rose gold heart bar coming and am in the process of ordering a rose gold pave infinity right this minute! Come back to see my finished piece in the very near future.
And I am already dreaming of putting a little something like this together, now that my library career has been resuscitated recently.
Adorable, huh? If you are interested in designing a keep for yourself or maybe for someone you love, check out Morgan’s shop here.
So, my friends, that’s what’s going on in my little world. What are you busy with currently? Please leave me a comment below to let me know!
Thank you for spending a bit of your day with me.
Hugs and kisses,
Morgan Topp

Yay! I figured out the problem. Thank you for commenting so I know that I did get it right this time. I was about to pay someone to figure out my troubles! Now I can use that $30 to buy more KEEPS!

Your hiking trip looks so fun, I would love to hike there. Oh, and I would also love a hot tub! I wonder if you’ll catch anyone on the camera! Lol!

I hate tech problems, urg. Glad you got it figured out. I love looking at your hiking mountainy pictures, it looks so pretty there.

The hiking looks like fun – even with the spider. No snakes, though, I hope! The kitty bath pictures cracked me up!

We see (dead, squished) snakes on our hikes as well as live spiders. One summer in particular, I saw at least two squished rattlesnakes. Not sure what I would do if a live one crossed my path. Probably a whole lot of screaming!!!

I wonder where that spider ended up?!? – spiders and snakes make my toes curl. That’s amazing your cats will shower – mine would have clawed me to death if I ever tried.

We saw another (or the same?) tarantula this past weekend. Not sure what makes them cross the road. Oh, wait…to get to the other side!!! Tee Hee. I think Purrsimmony actually enjoyed her shower, Snickitty, not so much, but they did really well. Send me your kitties and I will bathe them up pretty for you!
