Lovely fashionistas, how the heck are ya? Glad to have you join me for the second week of The Blended Blog “What I Wore” series. This month’s style posts are anything goes…no theme, just a glance at what we genuinely wore over the past few days.
I got a wild hair late last week and had my hairs cut. Every single one of them. And boy, did I. You can read more about that, here. I need to say that I realize how blessed I am to have my health and wonderful life and many blessings. I realize how insignificant a bad haircut is in the grand scheme of things. But I just don’t feel or look like me.
Since the haircut, I have tried to dress up a bit more than usual for work to kind of compensate for the hair. But this first look was BHC – before-haircut.
Oh, I miss my hair. Never thought I would say that but there it is. Need to snap out of it, though. Goodness, gracious. I am wearing Wit & Wisdom bootcut jeans, Loft Outlet lace cardi and Loft Outlet blue tee, floral Payless pumps and a twist of “pearls” from Charming Charlie. I felt like a fancy lady in this simple outfit.
I gathered a few similar pieces here. Check out the cute floral shoes!
These next outfits were after-haircut or AHC. Try to look beyond the pixie cut to the clothes below.
Loft Outlet flare tweed skirt, Loft Outlet lace tee, Payless pumps, crystal children necklace (one charm for each of my daughters), spangly earrings from Charming Charlie.
Today I wore an oldie but goodie, an outfit so bold that no one would even notice I have a head, much less a haircut. PC calls these my jester pants. Or my cornucopia pants. Whatever you call them, these pants are busy and bright.
Apparently from this angle, I have a little cleavage going on…but I assure you, from straight on everything was tucked safely out of sight. Loft paisley cropped pants in Julie fit, Old Navy tank top, Loft cardigan, Charming Charlie necklace and earrings, peep-toe pumps from DSW.
Here’s a collection of paisleys for your consideration. Yes, you, too, can sport some jester pants of your very own.
So there you have it. What I Wore, Week 2. I am only working two days one week, three days the next. The rest of the time you will find me home in workout wear or out running errands in jeans, a tee and converse or sandals.
What are you wearing during this transition period between summer and fall? Have the temps begun dipping in your area? What signs of autumn’s approach are you seeing?
If you have a look to share, please link up with us below.
Or use #theblendedblogstyle when you post pics on Instagram and Twitter. And then come on back next Wednesday to see if my hair has grown out any.
Happy hUmP dAy, girls!
Hugs and kisses,
Andrea@WellnessNotes
Nice outfits! I love the floral pumps!
Reds & pinks look great on you!
It’s quite cool around here in the mornings and evenings and still gets quite warm (I think hot tomorrow) during the day. Layers are my friend.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Layers are my friend, too! I take a cardi or jacket just about everywhere. I don’t think to wear/buy reds and pinks much but maybe I should! Thank you, Andrea.
Whitney a la mode
Just think of a bad hair cut as a challenge to style it in different and fun ways 🙂 Plus it really doesn’t look bad! You look as lovely as ever!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Love YOUR attitude. The hair is growing and growing on me. I have kind of gotten over the whole bad hair cut
thing. And it is at least a change! Thank you, sweet Whitney.
Andrea Nine
You really do look lovely Leslie and those floral heels are fabulous!!! Love that berry color on you too!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Andrea. I should wear my floral shoes more often. Forget about them. And I am thinking it might be time to incorporate more berry and red in my wardrobe. I always go with earth tones.
Brennyn
Mommy I love absolutely all of these!!! You look fabulous. You have the best leggies!! ❤️
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, baby girl, for stopping by. You say the nicest things, Brennyn. I love you.

I love your pants, so you, and so cute! 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I love paisley everything.
Deena
You had me at floral pumps. Swwooooooon.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Awww, thank you. I need to wear them more. Maybe tomorrow to church.

I’m trying to wear more plums and orange tones. But I also still wear my summer clothes because of the heat. We are supposed to get some “gumbo weather” soon. We’ll see.
I had a similar experience with a bad cut years ago when my kids were young. When I got home, one of them asked, “What happened to your hair, Mom?” I can laugh about it now! It will grow back before you know it.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am seeing plum everywhere and a burgundy or wine color. And olive. But I had heard/read that the colors for fall were a deep blue and a khaki tan. Hmmm. I bet you would wear orange beautifully with your coloring. Hope you get gumbo weather and we get chili weather very soon. Would love to have your recipe for gumbo…hint, hint!
I guess I am not the first or only one to get a bad haircut. Glad to know I am in good company. I am not ready to laugh yet, but I am getting adjusted. And it has grown back a teensy bit already.

Those floral pumps though! So very fabulous. And I like your haircut, but I know what you mean about not feeling yourself. Especially when the haircut isn’t what you wanted/expected. But it’ll grow back. Promise. The pinks are gorgeous on you.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
What a sweet message! My haircut was just a surprise. But should have known it was going to be different when she mentioned taking a razor to the back. Although, that’s the part I like the best! Everyone has been so sweet about it.
I love my floral shoes but forget to wear them. Thank you. And I tend to wear earth colors but might need to break away from drabs and start wearing more brights! Thank you for coming by. Hope you will come back again.
Laura
I think your new haircut is cute! Sometimes a little change is good because it gets us to think new ways, even if it does take time to get used to. Love those printed pants and floral flats! Super cute!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Laura. It is “growing” on me. Just took some getting used to.
jodie
I like the haircut too—it’s nice to have a change once in a while—and hair is easy to grow, color & change!
The floral heels are spectacular—a great way to add some pizzazz!!

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving a comment. You are so right…hair is easy to change up. And I am beginning to get used to my reflection in the mirror! Just blessed that I am healthy and that my hair is just a minor inconvenience. I need to move my floral shoes to the front of the shoe rack because I forget to wear them. Thank you for your sweet compliments. Hope you will stop by again.
amy
Such lovely outfits. I love your sweater in the first one and the color of the top in the second one is gorgeous. Sorry about your hair. I know it’s hard, but it does grow back! I actually like it, I wish I looked as good in short hair as you do.
Ruth
So cute! And really your hair does look good. It will grow back! Yeah! That’s the nice thing about hair! Your outfits look great and your smile shows how happy you are!

So sweet of you to stop by and take time to leave this kind message. I am getting used to the hair. And after all, it is just hair! Thank you so much for your compliments. Hope you will come back again!

The pink and red tones look amazing on you! Your haircut is so cute!
