Howdy, quarantine queens, it’s time for Thankful Thursday 06.2020. I usually publish these posts on the last Thursday of the month. But I’ve missed 2 months linking up with Rebecca Jo for her gratitude series, which she publishes every week. And I certainly have many things for which to be grateful. So I thought it was high time I got this post published rather than waiting til the end of the month to share.

THANKFUL THURSDAY 06.2020
Here are some of the things I have given thanks for in my “Good Days Start With Gratitude” journal. Except I would change the title to “Good Nights Start With Gratitude” journal because I write in mine before going to sleep.
I am grateful for:
- money to pay our monthly bills
- another birthday
- ice cream
- Mondays and a clean start to each week
- blooming cactuses (cacti) and green trees
- a loving stray kitty we can feed
- PC’s dad is getting comfort in hospice
- chili and cornbread – mmm
- my sister on her birthday
- having known my father-in-law Wally
- Lauren, Lucia and Cami seemed to have missed me
- finding ladybugs with Lucia
- early morning workouts and runs
- PC’s help with my mom’s tablet
- the way a good cry can make me feel better
- Brennyn’s Mother’s Day message
- Cami’s smile
- our home
- PC’s good heart
- finishing spring cleaning
- all my girls
- good conversations with my mom and my MIL May
- Matt is recovering from Covid
Those are only a few of the things I am thankful for. In looking back over what I was grateful for in March’s Thankful Thursday post, I kept mentioning my hope that Covid concerns would be behind us by the first of April. Ha! What a dreamer, huh?
Our cases in El Paso are increasing by more than 75 a day. We are up to 93 deaths. And as of right now, 96% of our ICU beds across the city are full – not all with Covid patients but that’s still kind of worrisome. While the city is reopening very slowly, we are required to wear masks in public places. Could be a very unusual summer.
My Word of the Year
I haven’t written much about my word of the year –believe – but it has gotten me through on the darkest days of this year so far. Believing that in the end everything is going to be okay. As a part of February’s Currently post, I talked about how I came to select believe as my word of the year. In this Sentence a Day post, I mentioned how our church was doing a series on believing. Coincidence? I doubt it!
Do I still get wound up? You betcha! Just ask my Prince C. Are there days when I feel defeated or want to hide away under the covers? Oh, yeah. But I don’t stay down for long. I think that’s why I stepped away from social media and blogging – for only a short time. Just had to catch my breath. Refocus. And remind myself to believe that in the end, it will all be okay.
While there is so much to be grateful for these are difficult days. How would your Thankful Thursday 06.2020 post read? Please let me know what you are most thankful for these days.
How are you holding up? Praying you and those you love are staying safe and healthy as our world begins to open up. Please let me know in a comment below how things are in your world.
Thankful for your friendship. Thank you for choosing to spend a little of your day here with me. Your messages and support mean so much.
Hugs and kisses,
