Dear Fashionistas,
Playing dressing-up today with the gals at The Blended Blog for our “Summer Style” series. As you may recall, this style challenge is a little different because you pick three descriptors from our darling “Deena-created” (AKA Deena from Shoes to Shiraz) graphic then use them to put together a complete look.
So let’s have a look at that graphic.
Lots of great possibilities there. I selected light pink from the first column, lace from the second column and t-shirt from the third column to come up with my first outfit of the challenge.
Fell in love with this lace-yoke tee at Loft, available on sale, here. Paired it with my Loft camos, some olive green earrings from Charming Charlie and my new rose quartz…yeah, ok…pale pink purse from Kohls. Grabbed my Walmart tortoise shell sunglasses (or maybe just turtle shell since they were only $5), and I was ready to meet friends for breakfast.
This could become a favorite go-to style for me. I like the contrast of the girly lace with the tomboyish camo. And my gold Target sandals are the finishing touch.
I took the liberty of putting together a few variations to the pieces of my look for your perusal below. Have a look!
Finally, won’t you come play dress-up with me. Pick your three descriptors from the graphic that pique your interest and create an outfit. Then share it with me so I can share it with all of our mutual fashionista friends as part of the “Summer Style” series. It’s fun! And I bet you’ll be surprised at the great looks you can build with pieces hanging out in your closet.
I have been kind of quiet this past week just trying to catch my breath after the horrible tragedy that occurred here in my home state last Thursday. My silly blog posts seemed even more trivial and unimportant in the grand scheme of things. So I used my days to work on myself. To read and work in my Victorious Living: 101 Prayers and Praises workbook. To exercise. Read for pleasure. Soak in the hot tub. Scrapbook. And when I finally felt I could breathe again today, I decided to return to this, my little corner of the Web.
of all, our Question of the Post. Question: How do you decompress, catch your breath after a tragedy like the shootings in Dallas last Thursday? Please share in a comment below.
Heading to Ohio tomorrow for a quick visit with my PC’s family and then on to Kentucky on Sunday to see my mom. Packing my laptop so we can stay in touch but may not have a lot of time or the Internet connectivity to check in often or for long.
Enjoy YOUR weekend. Hold your loved ones close and know that I am glad we are friends.
Hugs and kisses,
Deena
Love that blush colour, it’s so feminine and comforting!

Thank you. It is the color of a hug, huh? Blush? Blush! I can’t keep my colors straight. Is blush the same as rose quartz the same as pale pink? And how bout that light blue…what are they calling it this summer? For an art major, I really struggle with color words!

I have sort of a similar top to this one, but it is more lace on the top! Pink suits you well! I know, there has been so many tragedies lately and its horrible when its in your own home state. 🙁 Hugs!
