Welcome, ole pals to Sentence a Day 07.2023 – my monthly review of life in one run-on sentence a day. Today I am bringing you my sentences for the 7th month of the year, July. Another hectic month. Calgon, take me away!!
SENTENCE A DAY – OGT 2023
As always, want to give a big thanks to Rebecca Jo at Knit by God’s Hand for creating this series. This year, Rebecca is combining her Sentence a Day with a thankful month idea. Every day, she will post a blessing, a gratitude for that day.
For each of my daily entries, you will see OGT after the date for that (looooooong) sentence. OGT = one good thing. And I am following Rebecca’s good lead by including one good thing I am grateful for each day.
Just a reminder: Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After occasionally uses affiliate links which are usually italicized. If you click or make a purchase from an italicized link provided I may receive a very small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support.

1 Sec Each Day
And then there’s the 1 Sec Each Day video compilation for the month.
And the Clothes, the Clothes
Geez, this post just keeps on keeping on… but I want to share my other-than-activewear looks for July.
Ugh, don’t have the energy to link up the clothes. But you probably have all the same pieces in your closet anyway!! The jeans are mostly Banana Republic, Loft or Old Navy. Added a new yellow Brindle Boutique top after seeing it styled by Mireille. Versona ruffled skirt. Amazon cowgirl boots. There you have it.
2023 WOTY Update: Consistent
Consistently every month, I get excited about trying to be more consistent. Ha!! Then LIFE steps in to kick my behind and I forget all about trying to run twice a week for 1.75 miles each time and doing sit-ups and leg lifts. Avoiding Amazon. Tracking Weight Watchers points. Writing and reading and crafting regularly. I become a real slug.
And July was no different. However, there were a few little victories:
- I did regularly play Wordle. Until I didn’t. I think I forgot to play 2 days and that messed up my streak of consecutive days.
- Religiously cleaned my phone of unused files each morning after playing Wordle except for those days I didn’t play Wordle.
- Once again, as in past years, I consistently spent too much money for birthdays. But loved doing it. And will get it all paid off.
- I have been consistently using Musely spot cream on my face every other night.
- And this cellulite massage oil and this cellulite skin tightening cream which don’t take the bumps and lumps away but makes them less noticeable.
- Have been pretty faithful to my devotional and quiet time. And I think we might have gone to church every Sunday but one in July.
Your Turn
How would you rate your July? I think I would give ours an 8 overall. We still had the worries over PC’s cancer but weren’t completely consumed by them. Not completely. And did have some fun together just the 2 of us, and with the kids, all 10 of us. August is back to school, hopefully back to some kind of routine. We shall see.
Thank you for coming by. Hope your weekend is off to a grand start!!
Hugs and kisses,
Marsha Banks
You had a very busy month! But, it was a lovely month with all the family get togethers. I do hope you can get your pool issues solved…how frustrating! I will continue to pray for PC and you.

Loved all the happy family photos – and the pool looked great (even with all the chlorine and structural issues you’re dealing with). Happy 15th Anniversary – it looks like your July was a busy and bustling one – hope August brings you joy, peace, and contentment. x

July was a good month. And August has been even better. Thank you!! Happily swimming in our pool, trying to escape the heat, enjoying some ‘down’ days without as many doctor appointments for PC. Life is good.
Nancy
Happy anniversary! The loss of a parent is painful. I lost my father in January and it still feels so unreal.
I wished I could use the pool! It’s had trained the hole month of July. Happy weekend!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you for the anniversary wishes. We celebrate the blessing of our marriage in September. That was a very special day that happened 2 months after we were married. Our Sunday school teacher blessed our new home and our new union!!
I am so sorry you recently lost a parent, too. It is the strangest thing. One minute I am fine, the next minute I am teary-eyed. And I am always on the verge of calling my mom. Wonder if that will ever change.
Deb
Oh Leslie, I am sad to see you are struggling with anxiety and worries – you have so much on your mind at the moment. I do hope that the counsellor you are seeing can help you.
It seems like children just take it in turns to be sick doesn’t it? You get one well and then someone else is poorly! Lovely to see pictures of them all together 🙂
Take care x
Joanne
I am so sorry to read about how much you struggled this month but was happy to see it ending on a high note with your family all around. So glad everyone was healthy for all the fun birthday celebrations.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you. We enjoyed the visit with the kids. It was less stressful than other visits have been.
Kym
Oh my goodness, I adore this idea for a recap of the month. I may borrow from it because I think it’s a great exercise in writing just a snippet each day and looking for the good takeaways. 🙂 Glad you had good times celebrating your anniversary and the birthdays and many other good things. So sorry you’ve been struggling with depression and anxiety – I hope the meds and counseling are effective and have you feeling more settled soon.
