Hola Amigas!
Time for my Sentence a Day, 07.2019. While most of my blogging buddies are sad to see summer coming to a close, I say bring on FALL! So ready for cooler temps, sweaters, pumpkin spice.
With the horrific shooting here in El Paso on Saturday, it has been hard to think of anything else. I was glued to the television on Saturday and have been numb ever since. The entire community is extremely somber but we are strong and resilient. El Paso, a big city with a small town feel, has a lot of heart and by coming together it will begin to bounce back. #ElPasoStrong #ElPaSOSTRONG

- Happy birthday, my darling first-born daughter Brennyn Alexis. Everyone was exhausted last night when we fell into bed but I couldn’t sleep…waaaaahhhh! Whew, rereading this made me tired! But July was a good month. Mom was good all month. PC is working from here at the castle, 3 days a week – teleworking they call it – but he doesn’t have a job any more so there isn’t a lot he can be doing. He is helping with all the chores around the house, though, and that is a big blessing.
Your Turn

Have a hApPy HuMp day!! Thank you for spending a few minutes of your day with me.
Hugs and kisses,
Debbie Harris
I was so sad to hear of the shooting in your area Leslie and my heart goes out to you all, and then another shooting the next day! What is going on??? I enjoyed reading your activities and it certainly sounds like a hot summer over there! What sweet little girls and so lovely you get to spend time with them. Enjoy the cooler weather of autumn as we move into spring 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Just saw the photos you shared of snow!!! I am not ready for that but certainly ready for cooler temps. We have had almost 40 days of triple digits this summer. Know you are heading toward spring and probably ready for warmer days.
Thank you for your kind words. The shooting was awful. So senseless. But El Paso is strong and has begun putting the pieces back together again.
Mother of 3
Happy anniversary! July sounds like it was quite full with celebrations. So sorry to hear of the shooting in your area.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Joanne. July was a wonderful month. The shootings here really rocked El Paso but we are beginning to rise and stand again.
Juhli
Wow, you did have a busy month! Glad it was full of family time and love.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Juhli. July was a wonderful month.
Rebecca Jo Vincent
I didnt realize you were a Bible journaler too!!!! Girl – we need to live near one another 🙂
All the triple digit heat? NOPE .. NOPE… NOPE!!!!
So do you get little things to put on your keychain? That’s awesome on those first 5 lbs!!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Weight Watchers sends little key chains for certain amounts lost. PC has gotten 2 but I have less weight loss, more toning to do, so I probably will only get the one for 5 pounds.
Today is our 37th day of triple digits. But, as they like to say, it’s a dry heat. Still pretty darn hot, though!!

I still stop can’t thinking about these shootings. That make me so sad. I was at Walmart today and was thinking, wow, what if? So scary! Daisy Jones and the 6 was such a good book, I hope you enjoyed it, too! Your girls and grand girls are so beautiful!

You are so sweet. I didn’t want to like Daisy Jones because of all the drugs and drinking and abuse she experienced at a young age (and throughout most of her life, I guess) but wound up loving the book. I listened to it which is always a treat. Like having your own personal play performance.
Natalie
You had a busy month, Leslie. Glad it was full of family celebrations, love and fun activities.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Natalie. Nothing better than time spent with family.
Danielle
What a busy month you had Leslie! Love it. Sending so much love to El Paso. I understand the crazy feeling after such a tragedy happens (we had a bus crash last year where a local hockey team was tragically killed) and our tiny little province really came together (and to be fair much of the North America) to support the tragedy.
I love that you got to spend some time with your girls. The water park looked fabulous and totally my kind of day. The triple digit heat though, that would do me in. We rarely have temperatures that high (usually only with humidity) and when we do get that warm, all the storms roll through. I am not made for that kind of heat. Haha.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I remember that horrific bus crash. During the difficult days, weeks, months ahead of healing, it will help to know that communities like yours that have experienced similar tragedies have been able to rise and stand again, with the help of others. Hoping to go by the memorial tomorrow.
We are on our 37th day of triple heat…thankfully, not in a row. We get a little reprieve and then the temps soar again. I think it is hard for the kids to go to school in such heat, although some of them are probably more comfortable there than at home when it is red hot. Just seems like it makes concentrating harder, though.
Loved our day at the water park. Would like to do that again or something similar next summer. Maybe a beach family vacay. Lauren’s new babe would be 6-7 months old, mid summer. Hope we can plan that.

Thanks so much for linking up your sentence a day post at the #WednesdayAIMLinkParty 42!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Dee.
Deb
El Paso has been on our news channels a lot this week – utterly heartbreaking to see and hear about this tragedy. It must be a real shock when something like that happens in your home town.
But what a great family month you had this July! How lovely to have one of your girls back close to you, now how can we plot to get the other one there as well? 😉
Good luck to your PC in finding employment soon, that award is great and I hope that it helps in securing him a job somewhere else.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Deb, for your support. There is a display at the make-shift memorial where they are trying to collect 1,000 Origami cranes. I am hoping to get one made today to take over there. The memorial is really something. Hope something permanent will be raised once the healing begins.
So enjoying having my little grand and youngest daughter here. They are coming for a swim and dinner tonight. Can’t wait.
