Welcome, chums to Sentence a Day 05.2023 – my monthly review of life in one run-on sentence a day. Today I am bringing you my sentences from May. Did this month seem terribly long to YOU? Maybe it’s just me. But seems like we’ve been waiting for PC’s surgery forever…first scheduled for 05.31 and now 06.07.2023. We are about to make it.
Sentence a Day – OGT 2023
As always, want to give a big thanks to Rebecca Jo at Knit by God’s Hand for creating this series. This year, Rebecca is starting something that goes with SaD, she says it combines both. A thankful month idea – where every day, she will post a blessing, a gratitude for that day. And those posts will go live on the first Thursday of each month. Can’t believe I am on time this month!!
For each of my daily entries, you will see OGT after the date for that (looooooong) sentence. OGT = one good thing. And I am following Rebecca’s good lead by including one good thing I am grateful for each day.

What I Wore This Month
Because I have kind of moved away from sharing my outfits lately, I thought I would create a little collage of my outfits (other than workout clothes) for May. Apparently, there weren’t many!!! We were out of town one weekend so I didn’t dress for church then and we missed church a week or two. That seems to be about the only time I dress. How sad is that?
- Alison & Aubrey polka dot kimono, black and white striped tee, Loft black ponte pants, black and white color block flats.
- Target Knox Rose A-line dress, Old Navy denim jacket, Amazon Globalwin cowgirl boots.
- Old Navy cropped sweatshirt and my new ON high-waisted balloon denim jeans paired with Crown Vintage platform tennies.
- Old, old Old Navy striped tee, light wash denim and Payless black kicks.
- Alison and Aubrey floral kimono, Old Navy distressed denim, old black tee, Skechers walking sandals.
Guess I need to dress up more this month!!
Here’s my 1 Second Everyday video summary of May.
2023 WOTY Update: Consistent
I have been more aware of trying to be consistent. In things like exercise, quiet time, taking time for hobbies. Trying to finish projects (spring cleaning, I’m talking to YOU). Meeting my seasonal goals. Some of my victories have been doing Wordle for 28 days straight. And using Norton to clean the junk files from my phone every day. Yeah, nothing much to write home about but these are day-to-day activities I want to accomplish. Supernatural 4 times a week. Running 3 days a week. Little victories.
Your Turn
Well, it’s finally your turn. Tell me true, how was your month of May? What plans do you have for June and the rest of the summer? I have been trying to wind this up for 2 days. And I am finally, finally done!! Off to set out all of our stuff for tomorrow’s yard sale. Once it is over, I will do an update on my spring goals and bucket list. Just want to earn that one more checkmark.
Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your first weekend in June!!
Hugs and kisses,
Marsha Banks
My month was busy…doctor visits, tests, the usual when you’re of a certain age, right? You get so much accomplished, Leslie! I always mean to ask…what is this Supernatural you always do? Sending prayers for PC’s surgery…good results, quick recovery, and healing….

Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hi, my friend, hope all of your tests came back with the best of results. It seems that we just get through one year’s tests and exams and it’s time to start all over again. I need to look into when I last had a colonoscopy but I don’t wanna!!! Thank you for the prayers for PC. We will be so glad to be on the other side of this. Has been hanging over our heads for months.
Supernatural is a virtual reality workout. We use goggles called Oculus and do workouts to music and in locations like the Grand Canyon or New Zealand or the Alps. Nancy
I always love to read your stories Leslie. You are such a busy woman, I love your energy. And I’m always looking forward to see a bit of the place you live. I also love to be at home!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Nancy, thank you so much!! I appreciate your kind comments. I love love love being home. But PC is quite the opposite and would gladly be on the go all weekend. I worry when he retires how we will compromise.

Hi Leslie – wow what a busy month you’ve had! Loved all your photos and catching up on your news. I take almost zero photos each month, so my posts are much shorter and less personal. Now that I’ve officially re-retired, I’m going to see about slotting something else back into my week to fill in a gap – or….I might just sit around drinking coffee and reading a book or two!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Reading sounds like a delightful way to fill your newly freed up time. I love to read but have to do so in short spells. For some reason I need to stop and think, digust what I read before I become overwhelmed by the story, or the ideas presented in the book. But that makes it very slow going. Listening to at least one book a month, though. And that helps.
Juhli
Love all the photos! Here’s hoping PCs surgery goes well and recovery is speedy.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, friend. Will be glad to have this behind us and be on the recuperation end of this process.
Deb
You’ve certainly had a lot on your plate in the last month. I do hope that PC’s surgery goes well – we will be thinking of you both and wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
Great photos! I do wordle too, although sometimes get caught out by the fact that it is American and the spellings aren’t always what I’m expecting! I also do a puzzle called Wordiply which is run by a newspaper here called The Guardian – that gets your brain working too!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am not familiar with Wordiply but will see if I can find it online here. I have tried very hard to start my day with Wordle. Usually over breakfast. Gets the brain going.
Thank you for thinking of us this week. Paul has been suffering with palpitations all day today. Can’t seem to get rid of them. Will be glad when we are on the other side of this surgery.
Joanne
You guys always keep so busy! It sounds like you had a pretty great month with a few fun/ short trips thrown in. I’m sure PC was disappointed his surgery date was moved but hopefully the doctor will return refreshed and better than ever!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!! We are hoping so. Will be glad to have this behind us.

Cathy
Thanks for the reminder of Bridgerton…my daughter recently told me about it and I forgot. Gonna try to check it out and also that movie, A Small Light sounds like something I would like. I loved the first glasses, but the second ones are even better. They are really good with your complexion and hair color. Love that headband too…I may need to try that. So glad to hear your mammogram and bone density test had good results…mine did last month too. Hope you’re having a good day.
