Welcome pals to Sentence a Day 02.2022 – my monthly review of life in one run-on sentence a day. At the end of last year, I got off track on my SaD posts. But I am back on track for 2022. If you missed January’s post, find it, here. And today I am bringing you my sentences for February, as long-winded as always. Each month I tell myself to try to do just a couple of words for each day. But I wind up writing a novela instead. Please accept my apologies.
As always, want to give a big thanks to Rebecca Jo at Knit by God’s Hand for hosting this series. Please run by to check out her post and the posts of some of the others linking up with us below.

March is going to be a whirlwind for my family. My little ones here in El Paso are on intersession so out of school for 2 weeks. Brennyn is coming for a visit mid-month and we will be celebrating Lucia’s birthday. And then a few days later I am going to Kentucky for Mom’s 95th birthday. Brennyn returns to work the end of the month and is already dreading having to take Declan to daycare. PC’s 9-month-long baseball season begins in less than 2 weeks. I need to get after the spring cleaning and get serious about my wellness goals. Reaching for my vitamins right now.
Thank you for stopping by.
Hugs and kisses,
Gail
Where do I start? Firstly Declan is just the cutest. And love the little video of the roundabout. Sorry to hear about the problems with your mom – the suspected broken leg and pneumonia. I also set timers to make sure I do certain jobs, and when I’m at work I calendar my exercise sessions. The pool saga must be exhausting- what will you do now? Enjoyed your sentences as always.
Deb
Your grandchildren are just adorable! You must be so proud of them all.
Sorry to hear that Lauren has had complications after her surgery, let’s hope that the action they have taken now will rectify the problems she’s been having. That poor girl has been through so much. So have you! What a worrying time with your mum as well, it does sound as if she needs more observation on a daily basis and I’m thankful you have found someone to go and visit her to keep her company and just generally keep an eye on her for you.
Take care x
Joanne
I am waiting for Ruta’s book through my library! I have read all 4 of her other books and have enjoyed them tremendously. All the grandkids look so happy and healthy. I bet your granddaughter is loving having you as a substitute. Hope Lauren is feeling better and well on her way to recovery and that the companion for your mom will help stabilize things for her (and you!).
Michelle,
You are one busy lady! I’m so sorry your mother has been confused and so unwell. I went through that with my maternal grandmother. It can be so disheartening. Overall, it seems like life is treating you right, with lovely children and grandchildren.

Hello Leslie! What a busy February you had. I hope your daughter is feeling better. It’s so hard to watch our children suffer. Also, I can relate to everything you told us about your mother. We are going through something similar with Larry’s Mom. She is living in a confusing mix of past and present right now. Her newest thing is that Larry and I just got married and only recently returned from our honeymoon. At least, she still loves me and is welcoming me into the family! She’s also convinced that one of the unwed grandchildren has had a baby in secret. No amount of talking it through can convince her otherwise. Makes me wonder if something like that happened to someone in the family years ago. Or if it’s total fantasy. Not sure. My February has been challenging, as one of our teenage grandchildren was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. Thankfully, it is confined to one tumor, so chemotherapy will not be required, but 25 rounds of daily radiation and at least two surgeries are in their immediate future. I wish I could take it all away for them, but of course, I cannot. All I can do is offer my love and support.
Danielle
Oh my goodness. Quite the month you had. I always forget how fortunate I was to be able to stay home with my babies for their first year. It sounds like you had a lot of subbing days in February. And you got snow!!! I am done with snow. Spring can come any time now. And the cold can also take a hike. I would like some sunshine and warmth please. We are just a the point in the year, where when the sun shines on you, you can actually feel some warmth to it.
I love the idea of a companion for you mom. Such a lovely idea. I think we need more programs like that for the ederly. Or have them paired up with elementary and high schools. Also so fun to hear your mom will be celebrating a 95th birthday right away. How cool is that?!

Guess what? We had snow again today. Just crazy. Of course I loved it. Beautiful and then gone by mid-afternoon. I know you have had snow and more snow. Hope it begins to feel like spring up there very soon.
Will be going up to see Mom next week. My sister will be there, too. We will get to meet Mom’s companion in person and hope to take her to lunch to get to know her a little better. She has been a godsend.
Natasha
I can’t believe how busy you are with subbing and caring for your granddaughters. Those afternoon naps are a must when you have that much on the go. I hope PC had a great birthday! And I really hope your mom is doing much better now — that must be so hard to be so far away on those hard days.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Natasha, thank you for the well wishes.
Karen
The little one is 2 months old already? It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long ago. Your Mom always looks good in the pictures, hopeful the companion will work out & be good for her. The Grands baseball has started & I was lucky to get to go to 2 games while visiting them. Talking about a lost key, I lost/misplaced my car key, found it in a pants pocket, thank goodness. Karen
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I wound up bringing my brother’s keys home from Kentucky. Now I have to mail them back and worry about them getting there. Ugh.
Thank you for the sweet comment. We had a great visit with mom. She did so well every time we took her out. And seemed to enjoy it all so much.
I wish I lived closer and could be with her regularly.
