Morning Glories,
Welcome to my review of Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box for July. Had a lot of fun behind the scenes creating this post. The minute I opened the recipe box, my senses were delighted! So many pretty things to see, to mix, to smell, to use and to share with my family. So honored to collaborate with the folks at Simply Earth. And so enthusiastic to share their products with YOU!
Before we get to the ingredients in my box and the recipes I tried, allow me to tell you a bit about Simply Earth, first.
Simply Earth
The products at Simply Earth were born out of a sense of frustration the Veldkamps experienced at overpaying for essential oils and their disappointment at using natural products that didn’t always work. By cutting out the middleman and working with the best farms, the good folks at Simply Earth have made it possible for all of us to make our homes more natural with their wonderful essential oil-based products. They offer essential oils with a purpose.
And…bonus…when you shop Simply Earth, 13% of all profits go to help fight human trafficking. Learn more about the organizations they support on their website, here.
In exchange for my review, I was gifted the July essential oil recipe box full of goodies. Have a look!
July Essential Oil Recipe Box
I was super excited to jump into my recipe box as soon as it arrived.
It wasn’t until I saw the box that I realized Simply Earth supports philanthropies that work to stop human trafficking. I like the idea that the essential oil recipe box ‘gives hope’.
The box comes with about a half-dozen recipe cards and almost everything you need to mix up some fun, natural products. My kit came with recipes to make a:
- DIY scented stress ball
- Natural slime
- Sweet dreams bath soak
- Homework diffuser blend
- Lavender scented bubbles
- Sweet dreams roll on
The ingredients provided in my box included:
- Four essential oils/oil blends: sweet dreams, lavender, tangerine, fir needle
- Coconut oil
- Almond oil
- Bees wax
- Phyllium husk powder
- A number of bottles and roll-on applicators
It is hard to tell from the photo above, but both of my kitties loved the tantalizing fragrances in my essential oil recipe box. They came running when I started unpacking its contents.
Additional Common Household Products
In order to make some of the recipes, I needed to supplement the items in my both with a few common household products. I needed to have access to water as well as flour, corn syrup, dish washing liquid, a bubble wand (or follow the DIY to make one), cornstarch, food coloring, and Epsom salts. The only item I didn’t have on hand was corn syrup because I only use it for pecan pies and, well, Weight Watchers. Ran to Walmart real quick.
Recipes
I spent part of an afternoon playing with my recipe box. Felt like a kid again. The recipes are very easy to follow, and making the bubbles or the bath soak or the homework diffuser blend took a matter of minutes. I spent more time snapping photos of what I was doing and the ingredients I was using than I did making the product!!
Lavender Scented Bubbles
First a photo of the ingredients for these super bubbles. And check out my light box! Remember this little DIY pinspiration post for making it?
I mixed all of the ingredients and then poured them into a little plastic bottle I bought at the dollar store. My grandbabies are going to love making bubbles with this magical solution.

And how ’bout those great bubbles. They were big, and iridescent, and strong!! I blew them toward the pool and they floated along the surface of the water. So pretty!
Homework Diffuser Blend
Oh, my gravy, this smells heavenly. I am no longer doing homework these days but might just start doing some just so I can use this blend in my diffuser. And I do know a certain little girl, Cadence Ellie, who will be in fourth grade (somehow!!) in the coming year. Thinking she could use some of this homework blend.
The combination of the fir tree and the tangerine is tingly, and fresh and energizing. Maybe I can use this during my morning quiet time. Can you almost smell this blend? Wish I had smell-a-vision installed on my blog. Need to look into getting the widget!
Sweet Dreams
My essential oil recipe box included the ingredients for 2 sweet dreams products. I haven’t mixed these up yet but will be doing so before I get together with my girlsies in July. Lucia struggles to sleep some nights. Have I got an oil blend for her!! Lauren sprays lavender on her pillow before bed every night. But I am thinking she clearly needs some of this sweet dreams blend. And my Cady will enjoy a sweet dreams soak before bed.
If you have a little one in your life who sometimes struggles to sleep, check out Mercer Mayer’s Just Go To Bed. A lot of fun. And oh, so accurate. I’m hungry. I’m thirsty. I’m scared. You know the drill.
Will be mixing up some of this sweet dreams soak over the weekend. This essential blend is restful, a spa-like fragrance. Will just have to be careful I don’t doze off in the tub!
Simply Earth, take me away!

Thank you, dear ones, for spending a bit of your Fri-YAY with me.
Hugs and kisses,
The sweet dream blend sounds enticing! I can fall asleep (thanks to my diffuser loaded with lavender oil) but I don’t stay asleep. Oh, how I would love to get a solid 6-8 hours!
I love that Simply Earth donates money to fight human trafficking, I don’t think most people realize what a huge problem that is – it’s so scary!
Have a great weekend sweet friend!
xo,
Kellyann
We have been using Melatonin for about 6 months and are sleeping better than ever. Last night we slept close to 9 hours, which is positively unheard of. Even with one of our smoke detectors going off!! Needs a new battery. If you haven’t tried Melatonin, hope you will.
With all of the illegal immigrants coming into El Paso, I worry about human trafficking. At our airport, I have seen a number of young men each with a small little girl. Very worrisome to me. Thank goodness for Simply Earth’s efforts.
I do like they have subscription boxes for these now. I was always clueless on what oils to get with no idea what to use them for.
I like the recipe boxes, too. I wear a lot of essential oils and sometimes I hit on a real great mix and sometimes, not so much!!
I get this box too! The July box looks awesome. I just got June though and still need to make my recipes!
I bet your kids get into the Simply Earth recipe boxes. I plan to take mine to visit my granddaughter.
Interesting about the recipes! I’ve heard of this brand before. Looks like it contained a lot!
I hope to pack the recipes and ingredients for my trip to see Cady in a few weeks. I think she will enjoy mixing up some of the oils with me.
What a great idea! TFS!
Really fun. Looking forward to playing with my granddaughter.
This was such a great box! I’m sure your adorable grandchildren will love all of it! We just made the bath and it smells really nice! I might need to steal some and use it as a foot soak some night. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Thank you, sweets! Going to pack up the Simply Earth oils recipe box when I go visit my older granddaughter later this month.
