Hey gals, it is your lucky day! Not only is it Friday but you are getting two posts from me today. Go ahead, pinch yourself…this isn’t a dream. Just chalk it up to good, clean living.
Linking up with my bud Sheila from Making the Most of Every Day for her “Read, Watch, Listen, Follow” series. I joined up last month, too. You can (re)read that post, here if you missed it in September.
READ: I have been talking about reading all month as a part of the “31 Days of Writing” series. Haven’t reread all of the books I have been reviewing but have revisited a few of them. Finished reading, oh okay…listening to The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.

So glad I didn’t read this book but listened to it instead. There were three narrators who did an excellent job reading the audio book to me through Audible. Why haven’t I been reading like this before? Check it out here.
WATCH: So once I finished reading the book, you know I had to go watch the movie. Did that last weekend.

The movie was good but, as is almost always the case, not as good as the book. PC hadn’t read it but had listened to just a bit of it with me. He had asked enough questions that he knew the premise of the story before we saw the movie. I really think the movie would be hard to follow if you haven’t read the book. And my daughter Brennyn agreed…giving the movie a rating of “meh” for just that reason.
We are also watching “This is Us” on NBC Tuesdays.

And the Presidential debates are always good for a laugh or a cry. Heaven help us. Watching them, too.
LISTEN: I am finishing up What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty on Audible.

What Leslie forgot was to listen to Alice yesterday when she was cleaning house. Dang it! Just realized I could have probably finished the book…and I had more than a couple of hours left. And our house needed to be cleaned badly enough that I could have easily listened to the rest.
Listened to the Brad Paisley song “I’m Gonna Miss Her” in the car today, running errands with PC before we had out to Arizona for the 50 and Over Baseball World Series. But I subbed in baseball words for the lyrics about fishing.
Now, I am not complaining (exactly) but “we” have been playing baseball every Saturday since mid-February. And now we are going to Phoenix for a week-long tourney. I would never tell my Prince that he has to pick between baseball and me…that wouldn’t end well for me. But some weekends it does get kind of tiresome.
I guess I can add baseball to what I am watching. Been watching, am watching, will be watching for a long time to come.
FOLLOW: Following PC to Phoenix.

We jump in the car tomorrow morning. Practice at 3:00, double-header on Sunday. Wish us luck. Both of us.
Hope you will stop by to check out what Sheila has been reading-watching-listening to and following. Then come back here tomorrow for the mid-way post of my “31 Days of Children’s Books”.
What are you reading-watching-listening to-following? Won’t you let me know in a comment below? That rhymes!
Hugs and kisses,
Valerie
Still trying to get through The Girl after reading A Girl which I liked.

If I hadn’t listened to it, I am not sure I would have gotten through it.

I loved Girl on the Train but haven’t seen the movie yet. I keep hearing great things about This is Us. What Alice Forgot has been on my reading list for ages. How did you like it?

Movie was good but not as good as the book. I am enjoying What Alice Forgot. Listening to it, too. Almost finished, anxious to see how it ends. I am thinking it will be a movie, too.
Sheila @ Making the Most of Every Day
How are you liking Alice? I liked that one. Girl held my attention but I didn’t like the characters. I just started This is Us last night and I like it so far. Good girl following your baseball loving man! Thank you for linking up with me!

I am liking Alice. Listening to it, which I love…THANK YOU! We started listening to another book on our drive out to Phoenix…A Man Called Ove. Interesting story-telling. Not sure where the plot is going but interesting.

Girl on the Train is on my list. I may have to check out the Audible version!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I really think I enjoyed Girl on the Train so much more because the Audible narration was so well done. It helped me keep the characters straight hearing their different voices.

I really enjoyed Girl on the Train so I’m looking forward to seeing the movie! I’m glad I read your review first so that my hopes won’t be too high!
